If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/28/11

Is everyone safe? I hope everyone stayed safe from the storms the last few days. CA-RAZY stuff going on over on the East Coast. It’s the start of a new week, and we are just shy of the new Fall season starting. To celebrate, we’ll be doing a good handful of some absolutely fantastic giveaways in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out on the site! Megan is in the middle of moving, so she’ll be joining us later in the week—or next, depending on how the move goes! Lisa had something come up, so Jamie is filling in today to tell you what she thinks you should be watching. Check it all out now!

Holy crap! Last week’s episode of The Glades was great. I had the case aspect almost completely figured out pretty early on (my husband & I have a theory on that… if we have seen the “suspect” or “witness” in a lot of other things before, chances are, they are the perp! haha), but it was still fun. The best part was, though, the mystery behind Callie’s almost secretive attitude. I had two thoughts: 1) that she somehow got the divorce process started, or 2) something else had changed with Ray—either he was coming home for good, or because of Jeff, she had decided they needed to go into Witness Protection with him. I was terrified it would be #2, but thankfully, she announced in the last minute of the episode that she had filed for divorce. Unfortunately, we barely got to see any reaction from Jim, because he was whisked away in an ambulance to treat all the injuries from his fight with the bad guy. Hopefully, we’ll see movement in that storyline tonight! Then again…maybe not…

On tonight’s episode, an Ernest Hemingway look-alike is discovered adrift under a glass bottom boat with a bullet hole in his head during a “Hemingway Days” booze cruise. Turns out, the victim might have gotten caught in the middle of a family feud between bootleggers. Meanwhile, an old romance from Callie’s past reappears and drops a bombshell, one that could seriously affect her relationship with Jim, the FDLE, and the hospital.

Check it out tonight on A&E at 10/9c! Learn where to find episodes online of The Glades @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/20/11

What a long and fantastic week of television! We’ve had some great finales, and a few moments that confused us relationship fans (ie. Bones 😉 ) Tonight is no exception to the exciting week, though, so let’s take a look and see what you should be watching.

Gordon Ramsay is often seen as a hard-ass, but in reality he’s a sweet, caring man who just wants people in the restaurant business to succeed. That’s what Kitchen Nightmares is all about: helping people. That’s what I try to tell myself while Ramsay is yelling at these incompetent people. 😉

On tonight’s season finale, the culinary master visits another restaurant where the owners hope that he can keep their business from falling over the brink of failure, but as he attempts to employ his methods and turn everything around, he worries he has met his match.

Tune in to FOX at 8/7c to find out if Ramsay can help pull the restaurant from the edge of failure. Learn where to find episodes online of Kitchen Nightmares @ Clicker.

Tonight, there is a double header of season finale Supernatural goodness. Sam and Dean have faced many tough challenges in the past, but everyone knows that a Supernatural finale is the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. So, get settled on the edge of your seats, because this ending won’t go down smoothly.

In part one of the finale, a demon kidnaps Ben (Nicholas Elia) and Lisa (Cindy Sampson) in an attempt to get at Dean (Jensen Ackles). As a result, the brothers Winchester are forced to team up with an unlikely ally in order to save them. Apparently, the real-life departed writer H.P. Lovecraft is mixed up in the brothers’ battle in order to help keep the underworld at bay.

Part two of the season finale contains the fiercest battle of them all. Bobby (Jim Beaver) and Dean are at a loss when the walls of Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) mind come falling down. With no solution for how to save him, they are forced to stand there as Sam breaks. How will Dean handle the fight for Heaven on his own? One thing is for certain, this fight and finale are historic.

Tune in to the CW at 8/7c and 9/8c to see the afterlife battle go down. Learn where to find episodes online of Supernatural @ Clicker.

One show I was glad to see premiere a few weeks ago was the Canadian import, Flashpoint, on CBS. The writing is great, the cases are interesting (and sometimes, as was the premiere this season, absolutely heartbreaking), and the cast is fantastic. I’m not sure I can find any fault with the show most of the time, because it all just seems to really work well. If you haven’t given it a shot, please do!

On tonight’s episode, shots are fired at the scene of an accident involving an unmarked police car and a bus, and Team One arrives to discover that the drive of the police car is Spike’s mentor, Oliver McCoy, who was transporting two criminals at the time of the accident.

Don’t miss it tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.

In Dillon, Texas, high school students dream big. The boys dream about their future in football and getting out of this small town, and they dream of a life that may or may not be in the cards. Some may end up sticking around, and some work so hard for a career and college life bigger then the city they grew up in. For many boys and girls, when you graduate from high school, it seems like the sky is the limit. For others, it’s the beginning of a life sentence. Just remember, the future isn’t written, so make it your own!

Tonight, a popular magazine praises Coach Taylor, while Vince’s past reappears and catches up to him. Luke faces the truth about TMU, and a car accident derails and delays Julie’s return back to college.

Friday night is a great night to chill out, and for me that means staying up and catching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. While he usually has great guests (tonight’s are Jim Belushi from The Defenders & According to Jim, Jennifer Lawrence – Katniss from The Hunger Games, and the Fleet Foxes as musical guest), my favorite parts are the comedy segments, like when he writes Thank You Notes. Of course, there are also moments like the one below!

Thanks again, everyone, for a great week here at TV Is My Pacifier. I hope you enjoyed my picks the last few days and hope that you found a new show to follow. Just a reminder that you can check out my reviews at daemonstv.com or contact me on twitter (@josedaemons).

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is on at 12:30AM/11:30PMc on NBC. Watch it and prepare to laugh your pants off. Learn where to find episodes online of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon @ Clicker.

I’m back! 😀 Hello my lovelies!!! It’s true what they say about needing a vacation from a vacation, because frankly, I’m tired out from all that visiting! To help me relax and unwind from the vacation, I’m going to kick back tonight and watch a few season finales and shows in general. Let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

What am I going to do on Thursday nights now that it’s the end of the TV season, and I won’t get any new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy until next season? It’s been a season full of ups and downs, happy and sad moments, but everything aside, I’m still looking forward to the finale tonight.

On tonight’s season finale, the truth about Meredith’s deceit in the clinical trial is brought to light, and it puts her career in jeopardy, while also causing consequences for others. Owen announces his choice for chief resident, and Cristina and Teddy have choices to make.

Tune in to ABC at 9/8c to see how the drama unfolds. Learn where to find episodes online of Grey’s Anatomy @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/18/11

It’s Wednesday, and what a week it’s been for TV! There have been some season finales that have met or surpassed what I hoped and expected (Castle or NCIS: LA, anyone?) and some that have totally missed the mark, as far as I’m concerned (NCIS sadly!). There is still a lot on this week, including big episodes of Law & Order: SVU & Criminal Minds tonight and Bones tomorrow. Have you been enjoying all the great new episodes? Let us know!

Jenny’s Choice

This season of Criminal Minds has been odd for me. I still love the show, still love the characters and the cases, but…dropping AJ Cook and Paget Brewster was a horrible decision, in my opinion. Luckily, CBS is beginning to rectify their mistake, as JJ returns on tonight’s season finale, and will be a series regular again next season! No word yet on Paget Brewster’s Emily Prentiss, but since Paget’s comedy pilot was not picked up by another network, she is free, so I believe the folks behind the scenes are going to ask her back for next season. I’ve got my fingers crossed! In true Criminal Minds fashion, tonight’s season finale promises to be nail biting for our beloved BAUers, with a possible shakeup for the team in the works.

Tonight, the bodies of two missing persons are found in a car trunk, and the BAU thinks an interstate human trafficking ring is at work. Hotch warns the team of possible changes, and the team is surprised when a beloved team member returns. Nicholas Brendon returns as Kevin Lynch, and Amy Price-Francis (24) guest stars as SSA Andi Swan, head of the Domestic Trafficking Task Force, who assists the BAU on the case.

Don’t miss what I hope will be a great season finale tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Criminal Minds @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/17/11

Tuesday is bringing us another round of amazing shows to watch! There are a touch of season finales and several pre-finales to catch. No matter what, we’ve got your taste in TV covered. Grab your remote and see what shows we recommend channel surfing to.

Body of Proof continues to be an amazing show. It is the unique perspective that Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) brings to her cases that keeps viewers fascinated. Additional kudos go to her fellow cast members for their humor and intelligence, which brings this show such a well roundedness that it makes it worth tuning in to see. It’s also what got this show a renewal for next season.

Tonight, Megan picks up the case of a young philanthropic socialite. After the autopsy, Megan clearly detects the probability of foul play. Unfortunately, the investigation gets interrupted, and even deterred, by a tiny problem with Kate’s (Jerri Ryan) personal life. She happens to be dating Megan’s exhusband!
