scorpion323smallMy pick tonight is the new episode of Scorpion, which is back after having last week off. On the last new episode, the world was on the verge of WWIII if three Eastern European countries couldn’t come to a peace treaty. The leaders of each of the countries met in the US, and Scorpion was there to help hide the fact that those leaders weren’t still at home in their own countries. In the end, when one of the leaders was poisoned, Scorpion was able to not only figure out who did it and which snake’s venom they used, but after Walter forced a snakebite on himself, they were able to get the correct snake and fix an anti-venom for it. Both Walter and the foreign leader were saved, and the three leaders signed a peace treaty with no one being the wiser about how close it had come to war.

Highlights of the episode include Walter, Paige, and Happy stealing a taco truck, Happy kissing Toby, learning Cabe has a secret about the software Walter invented when he was a kid—he had more to do with the way it was used than Walter thinks, maybe?—and Walter nearly spilling to Paige as he was nearly delusional from the snake’s venom about the Valentine’s date he’d planned, as well as him arranging it so Paige wouldn’t miss her final for her college class. And how cute was it when he said he was proud of her?

On tonight’s episode, “Young Hearts Spark Fire,” while on a mission to save lost hikers, Team Scorpion’s helicopter crashes, igniting a massive wildfire that quickly closes in on them. Also, Sylvester must help their injured pilot who is unable to make it to safer ground.

See how the team makes it out of the flames tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Food Fortunes, NCIS: LA, & Castle.

thewalkingdead322smallWhat a great episode of The Walking Dead last week! The power grid at Alexandria was having issues, so a team went on a mission to look for replacement parts. While in the warehouse, the group was overrun by walkers—Aiden was impaled and eventually eaten alive; Tara was badly wounded but carried to safety by Eugene (who finally grew a pair); and Noah, Glenn, and Nicholas got stuck in a revolving door—which didn’t end well for Noah, who was gruesomely ripped apart by walkers as Glenn looked on. Before Aiden died, he revealed that the Alexandrians had an “every wounded man left behind” policy.

This policy was also evident at the work site as walkers attacked and a woman fell and hurt her leg. While the rest of the Alexandrians took off, leaving the woman to die, Abraham put his own life on the line to save her. Back in town, Carol realized that Pete was being abusive to Jessie (and possibly her cookie buddy Sam as well) and told Rick that Pete needed to die. And finally, Father Gabriel went to Deanna’s house to tell her Rick’s group can’t be trusted—but Maggie overheard the whole conversation.

Does Deanna believe Gabriel’s story, or will she chalk it up to crazy ramblings? Once Maggie relays this to the others, what will Rick do? I really hope Father Gabriel meets the walkers soon—his own self-loathing and guilt is now affecting Rick and the gang! Also, how is Rick going to handle this Pete thing? Deanna is already a bit wary of giving so much leadership control over to Rick’s group, and if he does something without consulting her, it’s only going to make things worse. Plus, with her son killed in the warehouse run, is she now going to suspect something nefarious happened instead of the truth, that it was just an accident?

On tonight’s episode, “Try,” Rick and the group face setbacks as existence within the walls starts to mimic life outside.

To see what Rick and the group face tonight, tune in to AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Battle Creek, Once Upon a Time, Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, The Royals, Looking, and Shameless.

cristela320smallI’m so scared because TV Line has Cristela on their “bubble show” list. I’ve loved this comedy since episode one. Cristela is great, the supporting cast is fantastic, and I love the balance between her work and her home life. Last week’s episode was a good example of that. It was Henry’s confirmation at church, and he picked Cristela to be his sponsor. But when it came time for the confirmation, Cristela was supposed to be working, helping her boss, Mr. Culpepper, at a press conference to show that he wasn’t the racist he seemed to be on a video he’d accidentally been captured on when his daughter, Maddie, was vlogging at work. She almost missed the confirmation but realized at the last minute that family was more important. She ran all the way to the church and made it just in time. At work the next day, Mr. Culpepper said he was disappointed, but really, I think we can all tell he admires her, even though they aren’t necessarily the choices he would make. That’s part of what I love about the show.

On tonight’s episode, “Fifteen-Something,” when Juanita Canales invites the family to her granddaughter’s quinceañera, Natalia wants to show off and use different aspects of the family to impress everybody. This culminates in her pushing Cristela to bring Josh from work as her date, and Cristela has the first dance she never had when she turned fifteen.

To see if Cristela and Josh have the moment all the shippers are hoping for, tune in to ABC at 8:31/7:31c.

empire318smallTonight, the first season of Fox’s odds-defying ratings juggernaut Empire comes to a close with a special 2-hour finale. Last week we saw more evidence of how Lucious’s image has always been the top priority in his life. When Andre was diagnosed with bipolar disease in college, his father’s solution was for him to just will it away and not tell anyone about his weakness.

Back in the present, Lucious tried to pay off Camilla to leave his much-younger-than-her son Hakeem, and when she refused, he had her escorted off the premises and let Hakeem believe she took his bribe. Meanwhile, Olivia returned with her abusive boyfriend Reg in tow, and when Jamal confronted him about the violence, Reg pulled a gun. During the chaos, Lucious revealed that Lola was actually HIS daughter and that he paid Olivia to marry Jamal. The standoff came to an end when Malcolm shot and killed Reg. Afterwards, the now-safe Olivia took Lola with her and left for good. And Lucious proposed to Cookie, who said no, realizing Lucious was just scared of ending up alone.

Cookie said no?! Lucious announcing he had an illegitimate child with his daughter-in-law didn’t win her over?! After all this time of wanting to get back together with Lucious, Cookie finally realized she can do better—and already seems to have some chemistry with Malcolm. Is this really the end of Cookie and Lucious, or is this back-and-forth going to go on forever? This show loves dropping huge bombshells at the end of each episode, so I can’t wait to see what they leave us with at the end of tonight’s season finale!

On tonight’s finale, “Die But Once/Who I Am,” Lucious has a secret that’s about to change everything as he and Jamal seem on their way to forming a music-centered relationship. Meanwhile, Hakeem decides to flirt with the enemy; at the same time, he’s trying to figure out what’s the best move for his career; and Cookie cooks up a plan to get herself back on top.

See how the season ends on tonight’s 2-hour season finale on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Arrow, Supernatural, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, The Americans, Man Seeking Woman, Broadchurch, and Workaholics.

izombiesmallAnyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Veronica Mars fan, so when I learned that Rob Thomas had created a new show called iZombie, I was in, regardless of the subject matter. Thankfully, the story itself seems like it’ll be a lot of fun. Rose McIver stars as Olivia “Liv” Moore (*snicker* Live more?), a medical resident who was suddenly turned into a zombie. She transfers to the city morgue for the easy access to brains, breaks things off with her soul mate (played by the sexy Robert Buckley from One Tree Hill), and tries to “live” her life as best she can. Then she figures out that with every brain she eats, she gets “visions,” which turn out to be the corpse’s memories, so with the encouragement of her boss, she works with a newbie homicide detective, using those “visions” to help solve the murders of those people whose brains she consumed.

Sounds fun, right? I hope so… I’m not a huge fan of shows on The CW. The only ones I watch every episode of are Whose Line Is It Anyway and Penn & Teller: Fool Us—I haven’t watched a non-reality show on The CW since One Tree Hill. So I’m *hoping* I like this one enough to stick with it. If anyone can make me do that, it’s Rob Thomas. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Robert Buckley and David Anders (who will always be Julian Stark from Alias to me) are on the show as well. Hellooooo, eye candy! 😉 I really love them both in everything I’ve seen them in, so…) Also starring are Aly Michalka, Malcolm Goodwin, Molly Hagan, & Rahul Kohli.

Kyle did a press room interview for the show, which you can view on his site, NoReruns.net.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” an overachieving medical resident who recently became a zombie transfers her residency to the city morgue, where she feeds on brains, but every time she does, she experiences some of the corpse’s memories, sometimes providing clues to how they died.

Meet a new kind of zombies tonight on The CW at 9/8c.
