Being unable to get to sleep sucks. Like, really. It means that no matter how hard I try and stay awake through the day, I inevitably crash around lunchtime, sleeping until dinner. Ugh. There goes my day. On a good note, I’ll be wide awake for TV tonight!
Jenny’s Choice
I was so excited about last week’s series premiere of the new USA drama, Fairly Legal, and I gotta say, it didn’t disappoint. Sarah Shahi was fantastic in her role in the NBC drama, Life, but this new show gives her the opportunity to try out her comedic chops, and she does it brilliantly. Her character, Kate Reed, is a tough, street smart, ballsy, but good, caring mediator, and last week’s episode gave us the opportunity to see her work under extreme circumstances. The rest of the cast is good so far, too, including Baron Vaughn (who plays Leonardo, her assistant), who is a stand up comic who has starred on Broadway, Michael Trucco (as Justin Patrick, her D.A. ex-husband), who was great on Battlestar Galactica, and last but not least, Virginia Williams (as Lauren Reed, Kate’s stepmother). Kate’s father died before we begin the show, and in the premiere, Kate is still dealing with the effects of his recent passing.
On tonight’s episode, Kate mediates a settlement between the State of California and an innocent man who was wrongfully imprisoned for over two decades, but while she tries to put a price on lost time, the freed man puts himself in a mental prison.
Don’t miss the new episode tonight of what is sure to be another hit on the USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Fairly Legal @ Clicker.
