killjoys626smallLast week was the series premiere of Killjoys, and I thought it was incredible. From the premise to the acting, I loved it. Intergalactic bounty hunters makes for a dramatic plot, but it’s broken up by lots of humor, not to mention a sexy cast. Aaron Ashmore as John Jaqobis is probably my favorite casting because there isn’t much that Aaron does that I don’t like, but he is extra sexy in this. We watched last week as John twisted the truth around to save his brother D’avin, and Dutch ended up helping them even after John used her name to claim a warrant on D’avin’s life. In the end, they managed to escape, but now the three of them have to see where they go from here, especially after a mysterious red box showed up for Dutch.

On tonight’s episode, “The Sugar Point Run,” a hostage exchange with a vengeful warlord turns deadly when the Killjoys are stranded in a restricted, bombed-out city overrun with dangerous gangs and scavengers.

To see how this mismatched team handles being faced with a dangerous mission, tune in to Syfy at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Briefcase & Dark Matter.

bullseyesmallI’ll be honest… The only reason I originally tuned in to Bullseye was to watch the always sexy Kellan Lutz, but my fiance and I absolutely love watching the insane challenges. This show is like Fear Factor without all the eating challenges, which I hated watching, so it’s a win-win. Last week, I loved watching them bounce down the hill in those giant balls. It was hilarious and looked fun — I would be a little freaked out about the water in there though, because knowing me, I’d probably choke on it. Overall, this show keeps me wanting more, and it’s easy television to relax to, so if you haven’t given it a chance, you most definitely should.

On tonight’s episode, “Defying Gravity,” the hosts welcome eight new contestants as they participate in the Drift Car, Defying Gravity, and Puppetmaster challenges, all of which involve using their bodies like human darts. At the end of the night, the contestant that comes out on top will go home with $50,000.

To see how this week’s contestants face the intense challenges, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

anotherperiodsmallTonight, Comedy Central kicks off the new comedy series Another Period, which can only be described as Keeping Up with the Kardashians meets Downton Abbey. The series is set in turn-of-the-century Newport, Rhode Island, and follows the lives of the obscenely rich Bellacourt family. Narcissistic sisters Lillian (Natasha Leggero) and Beatrice (Riki Lindhome) are only concerned with their appearance, partying, and becoming famous, and they treat their servants horribly. The rest of the family includes parents Dodo (Paget Brewster) and Commodore (David Koechner), brother Lord Frederick (Jason Ritter), sister Hortense (Artemis Pebdani), Lillian’s husband Victor (Brian Huskey), and Beatrice’s husband Albert (David Wayne). The staff of the manor is comprised of Peepers…the head butler (Michael Ian Black), his under butler Garfield (Armen Weitzman), head housemaid Blanche (Beth Dover), groundskeeper Hamish (Brett Gelman) and new servant Celine (Christina Hendricks).

Everyone seems to have some strange quirk or some dark secret, and part of the fun of the series is going to be seeing how all of this soapy goodness plays out over the season. Tonight’s episode is already available to watch early via Comedy Central’s web site. While I’m not a fan of the Kardashians — and have never seen an episode of their show — this series looks like it has the potential to be a hilarious satire of the genre, and I’m excited to see more of this amazingly talented group of actors/comedians.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” Bellacourt Manor welcomes a new servant; a space opens up in the Newport 400; and the family receive a visit from Helen Keller.

Meet this snobby new family tonight on Comedy Central at 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording I Can Do That, Tyrant, Clipped, Proof, Chrisley Knows Best, and Royal Pains.

complications618smallI’m always leery of new dramas if they aren’t procedurals, because I have such strict guidelines on what I like and dislike. So when I first heard about USA Network’s latest, Complications, I figured I’d give it a shot, especially since I was such a huge fan of Burn Notice (which was created by Matt Nix, who created this as well), but I honestly wasn’t expecting to enjoy it enough to continue. I’ve watched the first two episodes (the two that are airing tonight), and I loved it so far. There’s lots of exciting drama and tension and a ton of emotion that made my heart clench. Jason O’Mara stars as John Ellison, an ER doctor, who intervenes in a drive-by shooting and saves a little boy’s life. But things escalate quickly when he learns that the boy is a gang leader’s son and now he’s expected to keep the boy alive as the rival gang tries yet again to kill him. The series also stars Jessica Szohr as ER nurse Gretchen Polk (whose character has great chemistry with Ellison, who is – unfortunately, in my opinion. LOL – married), Beth Riesfraf (loved her in Leverage) as Samantha Ellison (John’s wife), and Lauren Stamile (a stick-in-the-mud, rigid ER doctor).

On tonight’s double episodes, “Pilot/Infection,” disillusioned ER doctor John Ellison finds his existence transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life. When he learns the boy is still marked for death, John is compelled to keep him alive. In part 2, when Antoine disappears from his hospital bed, John must find him quickly or face the consequences of losing a gang leader’s son. ER nurse Gretchen Polk tries to convince a combative patient to lie about her medical condition in order to keep John clear of their supervisor’s suspicions.

Don’t miss the exciting new drama tonight on USA Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay.

rizzoliisles616smallI’m so happy that Rizzoli & Isles is back tonight with its season premiere! Last season was an emotional one. Jane was pregnant but lost the baby when she was hurt protecting a teenage girl during a case. Frost was killed in a car crash (Sadly, Lee Thompson Young committed suicide about midway through season 4 airings.), leaving the team and especially Jane to grieve. Maura dealt with a lot of family issues, including once again seeing her father, Paddy. Korsak bought the bar the group always went to, and then Angela got a job as manager – and was a natural at it. Hopefully this season will be just as exciting but a little less heartbreaking!

On tonight’s episode, “The Platform,” when it appears one of their own shot an unarmed man on a busy Boston subway platform, the team must fight to find the real killer while clearing the detective’s name. But with Internal Affairs breathing down their necks, it becomes clear that the circumstances surrounding this shooting are anything but clear.

To see who’s under scrutiny, tune in to TNT at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Chrisley Knows Best, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, Stitchers, Chopped, Clipped, Royal Pains, & I Can Do That.
