chicagopd114smallLast week was an exciting week for Chicago PD. Watching the bad guy nearly get the best of them so many times made for a tense episode, but in the end, the good guys won, of course, rescuing the final victim and catching the bad guy. But I gotta say that the personal stuff right now is just as interesting as the cases. Seeing Ruzek at the hospital with Burgess was great. (I swear, that’s the first time I’ve ever felt like I had a crush on him…) I was surprised (but not, because that’s what I’d guessed from the episode description) when Voight offered Erin’s position to Burgess, but I’m wondering what’s going to happen with her. She told him she had to think about it, then lied to Ruzek, and then woke up in the middle of the night to stare blankly into the bathroom mirror… Is she scared of working with Ruzek for fear they’ll end up like Roman and his ex? Scared of working Intelligence? Or just scared to go back on the job completely? Then, of course, we have Erin… This week she’s working with her new task force, but they’re working WITH Intelligence. But how long will that go on? I haven’t heard anything about her leaving the show, but I can’t imagine they’d keep her separate from them for long either, so… However it plays out, I’m VERY excited for tonight’s episode, given the preview I saw.

On tonight’s episode, “We Don’t Work Together Anymore,” Lindsay has her first case with the task force and realizes she needs to call on Voight and the Intelligence unit to assist. Meanwhile, Burgess is back on the job but relegated to desk duty which allows Desk Sgt. Platt the opportunity to partner up with Roman.

To see the teams work together to take down the bad guys, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, The Mentalist, The Mysteries of Laura, Modern Family, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, black-ish, Hot in Cleveland, Top Chef, Wahlburgers, Donnie Loves Jenny, & The Exes.

parksandrec113smallTonight, Parks and Recreation returns for its seventh and final season. Last year, the series jumped forward 3 years for the last few minutes of the season finale. We learned that Leslie was successful in setting up the National Parks Service Midwest office in Pawnee, and it seems like she has a huge staff. We saw her fire one employee (played by Jon Hamm) and learned that Larry, formerly Jerry—and now going by Terry—still works for Leslie. Ben was dressed in a tuxedo, prepared to go to some big meeting (what could it be?!). And April and Andy (whose arm was in a cast) were going to be babysitting Ben and Leslie’s triplets.

Where are Ron, Donna, and Tom? Do they still work with Leslie, for the town of Pawnee, or are they off on their own new adventures? What are April and Andy up to, and are they planning to have any kids of their own? Will we see more of Jon Hamm’s character? It will be interesting to see how the series handles being in the future and what kind of predictions they make about it. I’m excited for but also a little sad that we are heading into the final 13 episodes of the series. This show is always hilarious, and I’m really going to miss it once it’s gone—which won’t be long from now, as NBC will be airing a double-dose of episodes each week!

On tonight’s premiere, “2017,” Leslie enters into a competition with the tech company Gryzzl for a large parcel of land, which she wants to turn into a national park. Meanwhile, April and Andy try to become more spontaneous; and Ben is honored with a speech by Tom at a Bicentennial Gala. Then, in “Ron and Jammy,” Leslie and Ron come together to help their old foe Jeremy Jamm escape the diabolical Tammy 2’s clutches. Meanwhile, Ben makes it his mission to find April’s true passion in life; and Andy travels with Tom to Chicago.

Catch up with some of your favorite characters tonight on NBC at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Face Off, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Forever, Marry Me, About a Boy, MasterChef: Junior, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Switched at Birth, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Cougar Town, and Kroll Show.

eyecandy112smallI don’t ever watch shows on MTV—they just aren’t my types of shows. But when I was writing up the weekly schedule on Saturday, the premise for their newest, Eye Candy, made me sit up and take notice. Based on the best-selling book of the same name by R.L. Stine (who also wrote the “Goosebumps” books), this show is about Lindy, a 21-year-old hacker/tech genius who is able to see clues and connections in the digital world that others can’t. Her roommate persuades her to try online dating, and when she meets one man, she starts to suspect that he’s a deadly cyber stalker. She ends up teaming up with the cyber-crimes unit and some hacker friends to help solve a potential serial killer in Manhattan.

When I first read about it, all I suddenly wanted was Jake 2.0 back. Why that reminded me of that show, I don’t know. LOL Still, Eye Candy (which totally sounds misleading for what the show is about…) looks like it’ll be a great show, so I have my fingers crossed going into tonight’s premiere. The show stars Victoria Justice, Casey Deidrick, Harvey Guillen, John Garet Stoker, & Kiersey Clemons.

On tonight’s episode, “K3U,” in New York to find her abducted sister, a brilliant but shy hacker is urged to try a dating app, where she meets a deadly stalker, only she isn’t sure which date it is, so she reluctantly turns to her ex-boyfriend, who broke her heart, for help.

To see how the series starts, tune in to MTV at 10/9c.

thelibrarians111smallI’m really loving The Librarians. Last week was a lot of fun when the team realized that fairy tales were coming to life…only, these weren’t your normal fairy tales. They were being created and manipulated by an old man (a REAL librarian) who, by “reading” from a magical book, was draining the life out of a little girl. The best part of the episode was when Ezekiel finally got the book from the guy, gave it to the little girl, and told her to make up her own stories. She made Eve a ninja princess, Jake a robot with awesome vision, and Cassandra got turned into Merlin in disguise. And the high school football team as the wolves? Pretty funny.

There are only two weeks left to this adorably fun show, since TNT is airing double episodes tonight and next week. It hasn’t been renewed yet…but it has to be, doesn’t it? I would hate to see them cancel it. It’s been too much fun to watch.

On tonight’s first episode, “And the Rule of Three,” when a group of competitive high school students start undercutting each other with witchcraft, the Librarians have to intercede before disaster destroys them all. Then on the second episode, “And the Heart of Darkness,” the Librarians encounter the House behind the legend of ALL haunted houses and set out to destroy it.

See how the Librarians defeat witchcraft and a haunted house tonight on TNT at 8/7c & 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Galavant, Guy’s Grocery Games, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Worst Cooks in America, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

glee19smallLove or hate it, Glee is back for one final 13-episode season, and it kicks off with a two-hour premiere tonight! Last season, Mercedes broke up with Sam after she realized she could be holding him back; Blaine killed his performance for the showcase, and it looked like he and Kurt would have a promising future together; and Rachel completed her script for the “Untitled Rachel Berry Project.” By the end of the season, all of our New York City characters disbanded, each going his or her separate ways, agreeing to reunite in 6 months.

This show has certainly lost a lot of its luster over the past few seasons, but since I’ve already been with it this far, I’m certainly sticking with it until the end. I’m cautiously optimistic they may be able to turn things around in these final 13 episodes. Hopefully with the introduction of some new characters and a return to its glee-club roots, the series can find that magic it first had when the show premiered. It will be interesting to see how they wrap everything up, knowing that this is the final season.

On tonight’s episode, “Loser Like Me; Homecoming,” Rachel returns to Lima after her TV failure and discovers that Sue has banished arts at the high school, which Rachel sets out to rectify. Meanwhile, Puck, Quinn, Santana, Artie, Mercedes, Brittany, and Tina show up at McKinley for Homecoming and decide to pitch in and help Rachel recruit members for the resurrected glee club.

Check out the beginning of the final season tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Undercover Boss, Cristela, Banshee, and Newsreaders.
