If you read this blog much, you may have seen me raving a few weeks ago about the premiere of the final season of You’re the Worst, when I called it a perfect microcosm of the bittersweet show. Well, they clearly took this season very seriously and are seeking to stick the landing with a perfect score, because last week they did it again! We started with Jimmy getting a check for $700,000 for selling the movie rights to his last bawdy book. He reached out to Paul, who is an accountant. Amongst other things, Paul advised him to not tell Gretchen because of her massive crippling debt.

Soon, Becca showed up and tried to fuck Jimmy for blackmail purposes, but he got a pic of her C-section scar and blackmailed her instead! Some work-related B-stories peppered the episode as well. Edgar was lying to his boss cause he hated his new position at work, and Gretch needed to get her biggest clients cool with the idea that Lindsey was taking over as their manager. When Becca failed in her honeypot trap, her husband came to just pitch business ideas to Jimmy. Everybody wanted his money!

When Gretchen did finally find out about the cash, she told him she’s slept with lots of rich guys and never pursued anyone for money. Jimmy decided to put the money into paying off his mortgage and buying a fancy new red sports car for Gretchen. She noted they may actually be growing up, and we saw a moment of horror and hesitation on both their faces. They avoided that and got in the car to go get breakfast. SMASH CUT TO: Jimmy opened the door of the car back up, but we saw there had been much damage to the car, and as he and Edgar got out, there was a “for sale” sign on the lawn. It was too good to be true! But only one third into the season, this hopefully means the last episodes will once more climb toward some oddball reunion of these star-crossed, mentally questionable lovers. Hopefully, this show finally wins the Emmy it deserves!

On tonight’s episode, “A Very Good Boy,” Jimmy attempts to prove that, despite being on the verge of becoming a married man, he has not lost his edge. Edgar and Lindsay attempt to go on a real date.

Find out if Jimmy accomplishes his goal tonight on FXX at 10/9c.

I will also be tuning in for Deadly Class and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.

I’m excited because tonight is finally the season three premiere of Man With a Plan on CBS. Last season, Andi and Adam decided they would start flipping houses and she would come to work with them as the interior designer, since she seemed to have a talent for it, which they noticed after she helped Adam’s mom redo their kitchen. I can’t imagine how it’s going to go down, having strong-opinionated and vocal Andi in the trailer with the boys’ club of Adam, Don, and Lowell. Well, I suspect Lowell will be okay. Don, on the other hand… LOL I’ve heard rumblings of some changes this season for Lowell as well. I have some suspicions, but that’s all they are, so I can’t wait to see if I’m right!

On tonight’s episode, “Wife-Proof,” Adam attempts to make the office feel more inviting since Andi will be joining him at work every day. Also, Lowell has been hiding a life-changing secret.

To see how it goes for Andi’s first day at work with Adam and the guys as well as finding out Lowell’s secret, tune in to CBS at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Kids Baking Championship & Winner Cake All.

Given the sort of disaster that is this season of America’s Got Talent, having another talent competition may be just what we need right now. That’s why my pick tonight is the series premiere of The World’s Best. Hosted by James Corden, with a fun lineup of judges (actress Drew Barrymore, TV personality RuPaul, & country singer Faith Hill), the show features acts from every genre available from countries all over the world. The acts will perform not only for the judges but also to impress the “wall of the world,” which features 50 of the world’s most accomplished experts from every field of entertainment (dancers, singers, directors, UFC fighters, models, record producers, gymnasts, etc).

On tonight’s episode, “The Auditions Pt 1,” the acts include: Mongolia’s Enkh-Erdene (“The Mongolian Cowboy”), South Korea’s Kukkiwon (“The Flying Taekwondo Masters”), Japan’s Manami Ito (“The Miracle Violinist”), Great Britain’s Matt Johnson (“The Drowning Man”), Australia’s Space Cowboy (“The Dangerous Man”), and the Philippines’ the TNT Boys (“Vocal Dynamo Trio”), who all compete for a shot to advance in the competition.

To check out the new talent, tune in to CBS at 10/9c (or after the Super Bowl!).

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Worst Cooks in America & Beat Bobby Flay.

I love the dynamic on MacGyver, and given the widespread news that Jack is leaving after tonight’s episode, that’s about to change. Hopefully the rest of the team can help fill in the obvious void that is going to be left, but it is bound to take some adjustment. It is unfortunate that George Eads had personal issues behind the scenes that led to this change, but I have faith the rest of the cast will pull through regardless.

On tonight’s episode, “Father + Bride + Betrayal,” an international crime boss offers Matty a deal she can’t refuse: he’ll surrender himself into her custody if he’s allowed to return to the United States to watch his daughter walk down the aisle. MacGyver and team crash the wedding to ensure the crime lord doesn’t run, only to discover they’re not the only ones lying in wait at the event.

To watch this pivotal episode, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Hawaii Five-0, Hell’s Kitchen, and Blue Bloods.

Last time on S.W.A.T., when a Mexican federal agent undercover with a drug-dealing gang went missing, Jessica Cortez and Chris went undercover down in Mexico to try to find him and rescue him. Cortez was undercover with them before and helped bring some of the old guard to justice, so she was their “in” with the gang again. The rest of the SWAT team stayed back in LA to try to track the missing agent there at home. It was rough for them because Jessica and Chris had to go in without any coms whatsoever. Jessica had to play up a relationship with the new head of the gang, and it all worked great…until it didn’t. They found out where the guy was being held just before their cover was blown, but it all worked out. The team found him safe (not unharmed, but better off than it could have been!) and Cortez and Chris got back home safely themselves. Meanwhile, Hondo visited his mom to help her around the house, and she talked with him about some of the rough time he’s going through. After his breakups with Cortez and then the attorney, Hondo is beginning to spiral emotionally, I guess, and that starts to affect his work on tonight’s episode, which should be interesting, especially since Deacon is having such bad money problems, given the issues with the house and the new baby on the way. So that should be fun to see…

On tonight’s episode, “Encore,” the SWAT team races to find a militant group that escaped their capture months earlier, when the criminals take hostages in exchange for a $500 million ransom from five corporations they deem corrupt. Also, Hondo’s emotional turmoil begins to affect his team leadership.

See if the team can find the bad guys tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, The Titan Games, Top Chef, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Dr. Pimple Popper, Will & Grace, & Beat Bobby Flay.
