If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/13/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

lastmanonearth1113smallThe Last Man on Earth continues to keep things fresh in its third season by constantly shaking things up. Last week, the group was on the move and came across an abandoned five-story self-sustaining office building with electricity, plumbing, and most importantly…frozen pizza. While most of the group was excited with their new location, it seemed like someone was trying to sabotage things to get them to leave. While Phil suspected it was the newest addition to the group, Lewis, Carol eventually came clean that it was her and that she had always pictured her and Phil living in a real house. So, in one of the building’s warehouse-like rooms, Phil built her a small playhouse for the two of them to live in. Meanwhile, Gail dropped out of the love triangle with Todd for Melissa, and Melissa dropped the bomb that she wanted to have Todd’s baby.

How long will the gang stay at this new location? Will Phil ever get along with Lewis? Will Todd take Melissa up on her offer, or is he also ready to bail on that relationship? How much longer does Erica have until her baby arrives? And will the group come across any new survivors? I’m really enjoying this series and always look forward to seeing what cliffhanger the next episode will bring.

On tonight’s episode, “The Open-Ended Nature of Unwitnessed Deaths,” Phil tries to make friends with Lewis by becoming interested in his life story. Meanwhile, Carol needs a favor from Gail; and Todd is concerned about Melissa’s mental health.

See if Phil and Lewis become friends tonight on FOX at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Quantico, Madam Secretary, The Simpsons, Son of Zorn, Family Guy, The Walking Dead, Good Behavior, Eyewitness, and Westworld.

Recap/Review – Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – 11/11/16

This week’s episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (titled: “When Will Josh and His Friend Leave Me Alone?”) packed an emotional punch in many ways, and we were able to get a few more musical numbers to round it out!

Recap:

crazyexgirlfriendrecap1112smallThis episode picks up at the airport at the scene of last week’s cliffhanger. Rebecca confronts Greg and asks why he is leaving. He tells her he’s going to Emory. He was unable to say good-bye to her because then he’d never leave. They tell each other they loved the other, but then Greg recaps their relationship with a song titled, “It Was a Sh*t Show” and then leaves for good.

Paula tries to comfort a depressed Rebecca while dealing with her secret that she is pregnant. She and Scott have a discussion, and he tells her that she has options. Paula immediately refuses and really starts to believe her dream of becoming a lawyer is over.

While Rebecca is attempting to heal, she is visited by “memory spirits” in the corporeal forms of Greg and Josh. She wants them to go away, but they can’t since the memories of them are all over the house. And by memories, they mean sex memories. They jump into an energetic song and dance number titled, “We Tapped That A**”. Rebecca then attempts to torch all the items that remind her of the guys, effectively burning down her apartment. She then turns to Heather for comfort and a place to stay. And we learn that Heather lives with her parents!

Saturday on TV – 11/12/16

Saturday is the series premiere of The Killing Season on A&E at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c. This is an immersive series that follows documentarians Joshua Zeman (Cropsey) and Rachel Mills as they investigate one of the most bizarre unsolved serial killer cases of our time – the deaths of ten sex workers discovered on Gilgo Beach, Long Island. Authorities believe these killings are the work of the Long Island Serial Killer, who after five years remains at large. Forging relationships with cyber-sleuths, journalists and victim’s families, Zeman and Mills uncover connections that suggest Long Island is just the beginning. Working with amateur cyber-sleuths, Zeman and Mills uncover a web of eerie connections to unsolved murders from Atlantic City to Daytona Beach and beyond — revealing that serial killers are targeting sex workers in record numbers, while using the Internet as their virtual hunting ground. Many of the victims, often referred to as the “Missing Missing,” are never accounted for and their murders are far less likely to be solved. This gripping eight-episode series is a deep-dive into a world of serial murder rarely seen before, going beyond pop-culture stereotypes to expose a real-life American nightmare. However, with the help of Websleuths.com and data journalists, Zeman and Mills learn that everyday citizens can make a difference — by uncovering clues that police cannot, in hopes that one day, the “killing season” will end.

Tonight is also a new episode of Saturday Night Live on NBC at 11:29/10:29c, with host Dave Chappelle and musical guest A Tribe Called Quest.
