"Younger" (Airs 11/9 at 10pm ET/PT)Last week on Younger, Charles decided he’d had enough of Bryce’s drastic changes and told him he no longer wanted him to invest in the company. This meant that they had to quickly find some new authors or Empirical would really be in danger of shutting down. Redmond brought Liza and Kelsey a manuscript for an erotica novel from a first-time author who they loved, but its female author wanted to remain anonymous. Liza and Kelsey didn’t like the idea of not knowing who the author was, so they decided to pass. However, after some investigating, they realized that their young fresh “female” erotica voice belonged to Empirical’s cash cow Edward L.L. Moore, who was writing under a pseudonym. After hearing about this, Charles told Liza to offer Moore whatever he wanted because the company couldn’t afford to lose its biggest author to another publishing company. So now, in addition to keeping up her own lie, Liza has to keep the public from finding out that the new young woman writing about the female experience is actually an obese 68-year-old man who drives around on a scooter.

I’m still really enjoying this series, but I really wish that Liza would tell someone at work the truth about her age. If she told Charles, he’d probably be more apt to try to rekindle a romance – you can tell he still has feeling for Liza, and knowing the truth would help him understand why she has been so distant. And Kelsey might feel a bit betrayed at first, but she would probably get over that quickly and it would be back to the status quo.

On tonight’s episode, “Ladies Who Lust,” a women’s erotica event threatens to expose the author’s secret while Liza and Kelsey try to preserve it.

See if Liza and Kelsey can keep the author’s secret tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Empire, Arrow, Frequency, Worst Cooks in America, You’re the Worst, Stan Against Evil, and Impastor.

peopleofearthsmallLast week, TBS kicked off its new comedy People of Earth with a double-episode premiere. Journalist Ozzie Graham wrote an article about an alien abductee support group, but as he interviewed the participants, he started having memories of his own, realizing that he too had been abducted. He quit his job at Glint Enterprises and decided to stick with the group a little longer to learn more, getting a new job at the local Beacon Gazette. While the other participants each only had an encounter with a single species of alien, Ozzie seems to have met all three: a Gray, a Reptilian, and an Albino. In his memory, he saw the three aliens joining forces to stage a car accident to cover up his abduction. Ozzie’s former boss Jonathan (who is secretly a Reptilian) volunteers to fix things, but his superiors send another Reptilian, Kurt, to clean up the situation. However, Kurt is accidentally run over by support group leader Gina, who drove off unaware of what she did. Then we saw a local cop covering up the dead alien body.

I’m enjoying this show on many levels. First there’s the humor with the support group. There are a lot of crazy characters, and their interactions, stories and how they try to out-do each other is a lot of fun. Second, the bickering aliens are hilarious, especially Jeff the Grey. And finally, I’m really interested in the ongoing mystery of what these aliens want, who knows about them, and if there are any other people who are secretly aliens. I’m really digging the creative new direction TBS has taken with its comedies over the last year. This is another highly entertaining one!

On tonight’s episode, “Acceptance,” Ozzie helps Richard face his broken marriage; Yvonne and Gerry investigate a mysterious cover up; Jonathan Walsh delivers some upsetting news to Jeff and Don.

Laugh along with these new alien abductees tonight on TBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, and Jane the Virgin.

ncisla116smallI am finally caught up on this season of NCIS: LA, and I have to say that I am sorry I waited so long. What an entertaining season so far that has been filled with so many great character moments as well as interesting cases. Hetty is focused on finding out who the mole is, but the team as a whole is also very concerned with Kensi and her recovery.

Kensi is awake, but she is still experiencing paralysis in her hand and leg, which she is not dealing with remotely well. Deeks is trying to be sweet and supportive, but Kensi is angry at the situation and is starting to push Deeks away. I really hope that these two work it out and that Kensi is back to her place on the team as soon as possible. Although while Kensi has been in the hospital, Nell has been taking her place out in the field, which has brought out some of her fears and Eric’s. Last episode, Nell was thrown back when an explosion took place at a suspect’s home, and Eric couldn’t stop watching the footage. I loved the moment that he saw her well again and just how cute these two are together. Even though we don’t get to see a lot of their relationship play out on screen, I am quite pleased with how much more the writers are letting us see about them in general. This is a couple that I have been waiting for since the beginning, and I am so glad that we are finally getting to see snippets of their love. Now, as long as they fix the relationship between Kensi and Deeks, I will be overjoyed!

On tonight’s episode, “Crazy Train,” Callen goes undercover as a patient in a mental health hospital to search for an NSA agent who disappeared while tracking an ISIS cell trying to cross the Mexican border.

Find out just how far undercover Callen has to go tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. (Be sure to set your PVRs accordingly, as 60 Minutes keeps running late and messing with the recording.)

I’ll also be watching Westworld, Holiday Baking Championship, and Elementary.

hawaiifiveo114smallLast week was the big Halloween episode for Hawaii Five-0, and there were some definite tricks and definite treats for viewers. On the treat side, seeing Jerry be so great with Grace and Charlie was a lot of fun. He went out of his way to make Halloween fun, especially for Charlie, since Danny had to work. Grace has turned into a snotty teenager, which is kind of fun to see, but I did love that she ended up dressing up and going trick-or-treating with them in the end. Another treat was seeing the gang get scared by the tricks hidden in the “haunted” house, as well as seeing Kono and Adam kicking ass and taking names as they got loose from the kidnappers – which brings me to the “tricks” part of the episode. How many times can one or both of them get taken? And are they EVER going to get some down time to just relax and enjoy being married?? I mean, really. Come on!

Tonight is the even bigger 150th episode, and it’s the return of some of the bigger names from the show’s previous 149 episodes. Michelle Borth is back as Catherine Rollins. Catherine last left Steve just before he was planning to propose, saying she was going for more relief work or whatever, but instead she was doing some undercover work. Christine Lahti is back as Doris McGarrett, Steve’s mother. Who knows what she’s been up to! And finally, Sarah Carter is back as Lynn, Steve’s latest love interest. Who knew they were still a thing?!

On tonight’s episode, “Ka makuahine a me ke keikikane (Mother and Son),” Five-0 must free McGarrett’s mother, Doris, when Catherine informs them that she was captured and is about to be executed after attempting to free Wo Fat’s imprisoned father. Also, Chin loses his appeal to have Sara’s adoption delayed, and she must move to Mexico. Emma Schlamme (Christine Lahti’s real-life daughter) is also guest starring as a younger Doris McGarrett!

See if Five-0 can save Doris and how Catherine’s return affects Steve tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hell’s Kitchen, Last Man Standing, MacGyver, & Blue Bloods.

John C. McGinley, Deborah Baker Jr.Tonight, the new horror-comedy series Stan Against Evil premieres on IFC. Sheriff Stan Miller (John C. McGinley, Scrubs, Ground Floor) is forced into retirement after an uncontrolled outburst. However, a plague of angry demons falls upon the small New Hampshire town, which was built on a 17th century witch-burning site. So he begrudgingly teams up with his young replacement, Evie Barret (Janet Varney, You’re the Worst) to keep the evil forces at bay. The series is written by comedian Dana Gould and also stars Nate Mooney (American Odyssey) and Deborah Baker Jr.

I haven’t seen this series yet, but I really like John C. McGinley, who is perfect for this kind of gruff, bitter-guy role. And based on the promos, it looks like this series will contain that same fun mix of horror and comedy that makes shows like Ash vs Evil Dead so entertaining. I can’t wait to check out tonight’s special one-hour premiere.

On tonight’s premiere, “Dig Me Up Dig Me Down; Know, Know, Know Your Goat,” a disgraced small-town sheriff teams with his replacement to battle demons. Then Stan’s daughter brings home a goat that is really an ancient hircine demon.

Catch the one-hour series premiere tonight on IFC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Empire, Arrow, Frequency, Worst Cooks in America, You’re the Worst, Younger, and Impastor.
