Tonight, Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race returns for an all-new but abbreviated holiday installment. This time around there’s just five food truck teams that will hit the road to see who has the best combination of culinary skills and salesmanship to win the $50,000 grand prize. And for this holiday race, the teams are headed to my neck of the woods, New England.

The five teams competing include “Big Stuff,” comprised of two professional private chefs who work on yachts and their marketing friend; “Creole Queens.” a married couple from New Orleans along with their friend; “Lia’s Lupima,” an executive chef who started a catering company with his mother, joined by a friend; “Magical Mystery Heroes,” a chef along with his cousin and his cousin’s wife; and “Slap Shot,” a Northern Minnesota culinary student, her sister, and their mother.

Even though it will just be a short, 4-episode season, it should be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to this winter-themed installment of the series.

On tonight’s premiere, “Holiday Hustle: Blizzard Brawl,” five aspiring food truck teams kick off the season in snowy Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Tyler Florence challenges the contestants with naughty and nice holiday ingredients, and they compete for sales while battling the elements in a winter wonderland.

Don’t miss the start of the winter fun tonight on Food Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Irishman, Survivor, and Almost Family.

There have been some episodes of Bull this season that pulled my emotional strings to the extreme, especially the most recent episode, where a teenage boy accidentally killed the doctor responsible for his mother’s death. I enjoy how the writers manage to make Bull appear both professional and compassionate at the same time during these difficult cases, which I hope bodes well for his ability to parent in the future. One thing I’d like to see more of is his pregnant girlfriend and their relationship, because it would be interesting to see Dr. Bull when he’s actually just being Jason and not higher strung trial scientist self. It will be an interesting adjustment for Jason when the baby arrives and he’s being pulled into many different directions.

On tonight’s episode, “Safe and Sound,” Bull mounts the defense of an old college friend, Eric Crawford, who is charged with negligent homicide after Eric’s youngest child kills his eldest with Eric’s handgun.

To see how Bull deals with this tragic case, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching All Rise, The Voice, The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola, All American, The Good Doctor, and Bluff City Law.

My pick today is the new comedy on Hulu, Dollface. According to Hulu, the show “follows Jules (Kat Dennings, 2 Broke Girls), a young woman who – after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend – must deal with her own imagination in order to literally and metaphorically re-enter the world of women and rekindle the female friendships she left behind.”

I’m not entirely sure what that means. It’s rather a bland description. But the cast is what makes this interesting for me. Beside Kat Dennings, who I’ve missed since 2 Broke Girls, it also stars Brenda Song (who I watched on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody) and Goran Visnjic (who I LOVED on ER, but I never watched Timeless, Extant, or Red Widow, so I haven’t really seen him since), as well as new-to-me Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars) and Esther Povitsky (Alone Together). I’m not sure I’ll actually watch the show, although I’m sure I’ll probably try the first episode because of Brenda Song and Goran Visnjic.

The entire first season is out now on Hulu.

I’ll also be watching American Housewife, Nashville Squares, Hawaii Five-0, & Blue Bloods.

I’m excited about the new Disney+ service. I signed up a couple months ago when they had a great discount. I’m not going to watch a lot on there myself aside from some of the Disney movies, but one of the new shows I’m going to be watching is Encore, starring Kristen Bell, who is an executive producer.

According to Disney+, she “brings together former castmates of a high school musical, tasking them with re-creating their original performance in a high school reunion like no other. Emotions run high as the former students face faded friendships, former flames, self-doubt, and killer choreography. Through it all, these unlikely groups of friends – with the help of Broadway’s best – just might pull off a standing-ovation-worthy performance of beloved musicals like The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, and more.”

As someone who was in the drama club performances throughout school, I’m excited for this. And Kristen Bell is great, so that should add another fun layer to it all.

You can check this out now on Disney+.

The Unicorn is one of those shows that I forget between episodes just how much I adore it. I don’t know why. It happens occasionally with different shows. Usually one a season. Like, you can ask me midweek if I like it, and I’ll say, “Oh, it’s cute and funny and sweet.” But ask me right after, and I just gush about it. Well, consider me gushing. The cast on this show is brilliant. Walton Goggins is such a great fit here, but his friends really just work. And last week, when Wade realized his daughter Grace got the lead in the school musical simply because the teacher wanted her to feel better after her mother’s passing, it was so sweet watching him talk to Grace about it and tell her she could quit but then be so proud and nervous for her when she didn’t. She proved that she could do it and do it well, and I swear, that Seymour song was stuck in my head for DAYS. My other favorite part of that episode was Natalie trying to sneak more juice boxes than she was allowed and Wade using his parental vision to shut her down. As a parent myself, that just cracked me up. And of course, there was Michelle and Ben practically forcing Forrest and Delia to “volunteer” for the first time ever by signing them up to work the snack bar at the girls’ soccer games. Delia just went spastic as a pediatrician, having to give kids all that sugar and processed food. She even went so far as to go to Whole Foods and bring back…snacks like kale chips. Gag. LOL

On tonight’s episode, “Three Men Out,” when Wade visits a local hot spot to meet people instead of using his dating app, Forrest and Ben decide to be his “wing men.”

See how it goes with Wade’s “wing men” tonight on CBS at 8:31/7:31c.
