chicagofire15smallTonight is the beginning of the two-night crossover event between Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD, and it is bound to be two incredible nights of television from one of the best franchises on right now. There’s something to be said for events like these, where we can see all of our favorite characters from all three of the Chicago shows interact throughout three hours, giving us more of everyone and deeper story lines. We start tonight with Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, with the story wrapping up tomorrow night on Chicago PD.

When we left the fire branch for winter hiatus, we saw Boden reinstated. Patterson chose to transfer out and give Boden back his house, proving he may be a decent guy after all. Severide got his bugles back, and Herrmann was stabbed by Freddie, then left to bleed out in the kitchen of Molly’s. It was such an intense episode for everyone, but the final moment, where Freddie stabbed Herrmann because of a joke he made, was shocking and heart-wrenching. I love Herrmann. Here’s hoping everyone in the bar finally realizes he’s missing before he bleeds to death.

Now for our favorite Chicago doctors, we left them with an emotional episode as well – with a suspected shooting at a movie theatre that turned out to be something different all together. It was a stupid teenage boy who thought it was a funny prank to barge into a theatre waving around a leaf blower to scare people, but one teacher, Miller, shot the boy in fear for his life. There were no other shooting injuries but many injured during the stampede of people fleeing from what they thought was a shooter, including a mother who was trampled to death while protecting her child. The teenager who was shot was on life support waiting for a kidney, and in a twist of fate, the woman who died was a match, and after being asked, her husband donated her kidney but for all the wrong reasons. The husband then confronted the boy and told him that he did it so he’d be reminded for the rest of his life of what he did, and he promised to be there to torture him with the memory of killing his wife as well. While I can see the husband being heartbroken, I felt like his actions were quite extreme and very harsh. As for Miller, who shot the boy, he couldn’t live with the guilt of the mistake he made and he killed himself. Another wasted life. It was a very sad episode, and I applaud the writers for not holding back any punches.

On tonight’s episode of Chicago Fire, “The Beating Heart,” members of Firehouse 51 band together and anxiously await word at Chicago Med after Hermann’s life-threatening stabbing. Cruz urgently works with members of Chicago PD to track down Freddie’s whereabouts when he goes missing. Dr. Choi and Dr. Halstead tend to an attempted suicide victim whose condition raises some eyebrows. Meanwhile, Mouch surprises Trudy, and Chili’s odd behavior has Brett and Jimmy worried.

Then on Chicago Med, “Malignant,” Hermann’s condition takes a sudden turn for the worse, leaving Connor and Toni scrambling to race against the clock. Word quickly spreads that some of Connor’s fellow doctors feel he should have operated sooner, causing tension at the hospital. Natalie makes preparations for her pregnancy, and Nurse April’s brother struggles through his first day at the hospital. Meanwhile, members of the Chicago PD Intelligence Unit help investigate whether the case of a women clinging to life is attempted suicide or murder. As the investigation deepens, a surprising parallel to other patients surfaces.

To see how these two episodes play out, tune in to NBC starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Chopped, NCIS, New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NCIS: NOLA, and Teen Wolf, Limitless.

screamqueens128smallTonight is the big Scream Queens finale, and we’ll finally discover the identity of the Red Devil killer! Last week, it was Black Friday – Chanel’s second favorite holiday – and so at midnight, Chanel and her disciples headed to the mall, where they taunted the other shoppers with their exclusive access to the doorbusters. Meanwhile, Grace, Pete and Wes tried to report Gigi’s murder to the police, but everyone had been fired due to incompetence, and Denise was now in charge! Chanel and the others didn’t leave the mall in time and ended up getting locked in. As they came face to face with the Red Devil, Chanel’s minions took off, leaving her to get shot in the shoulder by a crossbow. Just as the killer was about to make the mortal blow, Denise burst in to save the day…sort of. While she was busy over-explaining everything in great detail, the Red Devil killed her deputy and got away.

Chanel was convinced that Dean Munsch is the killer. and she told the sisters the only way for them to survive was to kill the dean first. So the girls headed to the dean’s house with some macaroons and poisoned cider, but the pufferfish they put in the drink had no effect on the dean. The girls then moved on to other ill-fated plans to freeze and drown the dean, but neither went as planned either.

So who is the mysterious killer – is it even a she like we’ve been led to believe?! Who will live, and who else will fall victim to the Red Devil before the night is over? Will the Red Devil live to kill another day, or will she be caught and pay for her crimes? I can’t wait to see how it all plays out on tonight’s 2-hour finale!

On tonight’s episodes, “Dorkus; The Final Girl(s),” startling confessions lead to the unmasking of the Red Devil and the identity of the killer.

Find out if the killer is revealed tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, iZombie, Chrisley Knows Best, and Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter.

theflash121smallTonight, The CW kicks off what is promised to be an epic 2-part crossover between The Flash and Arrow – as well as a launch point for the upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow spin-off series. In last week’s episode of The Flash, Barry found himself wounded both physically and mentally after his battle with Zoom. It was bad timing because super-intelligent gorilla Grodd had returned to Central City and was causing a ruckus once again. Grodd kidnapped Caitlin and put her to work on creating more apes like him. Wells came up with a plan to disguise himself as the Reverse Flash and pretend to be the Earth-1 Wells in order to distract Grodd, and it was up to Cisco to teach him how to act like his evil counterpart.

Things didn’t go quite exactly as planned – they did manage to rescue Caitlin, but Grodd was still on the loose in the city. However, a visit from father Henry is just what Barry needed to regain his confidence. He sped after Grodd, tricking him into getting sucked into one of the breaches between the worlds, sending him to Earth-2. Meanwhile, Cisco and Kendra finally went on their date, but a kiss at the end caused Cisco to vibe, and this time he realized the birdman he’d been having visions of was actually Kendra.

Will Cisco tell Kendra he knows her secret? And if so, how would that affect their relationship? And what about Barry and Patty – she knows he’s been lying to her. Will she figure out his secret identity on her own, or will he reveal it to her? It seems like everyone knows these days, so why not?!

I’m excited for tonight’s crossover because not only is it the sole reason that I’m still watching Arrow but also because I’m really looking forward to the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off, and it will be great to get a glimpse at some of the characters that will be a part of that series.

On tonight’s episode, “Legends of Today,” a crossover episode with Arrow begins with Vandal Savage attacking Kendra and Cisco. Barry then takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver to hide her until he can stop Vandal. But Hawkman, a man with wings, shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay to test it.

Check out The Flash half of the crossover event tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Grandfathered, The Grinder, Scream Queens, iZombie, and Chrisley Knows Best.

ncisnola1124smallI have really fallen in love with NCIS: NOLA. Having one of my favorite “worlds” (the NCIS world) set in unique and picturesque New Orleans has been great. Last episode was killer (no pun intended). I felt so bad for Francesca, the fiancee of the man who was killed. I was glad that I was wrong when I guessed that he might have been in on it. Instead, it was her (unknown to her) half brother who killed her fiance because she was going to be able to inherit some of their recently deceased father’s estate. I did guess correctly that the city-wide blackout was tied into the murder somehow. It was just too coincidental not to be. But poor Francesca… She now knows who her father was, but he’s dead, and now her fiance is dead too. At least she’ll get to know her father’s wife… (Not sure that’s a real positive or not. LOL) I did love how Loretta had to conduct the autopsy via candlelight! That was fun and a little creepy.

I’m excited about tonight’s episode because we’ll get to look back at the early relationship between Pride and Lasalle. I always love getting to see the backstory for characters, and as this one takes a look back just before Hurricane Katrina, it should be a really emotional one.

On tonight’s episode, “Billy and the Kid,” the murder of a Marine provides new clues in the first case Pride and Lasalle ever worked together, just before Hurricane Katrina struck the city and washed away any evidence. Also, the team celebrates Thanksgiving together in Pride’s bar.

See if the team can catch a murderer before they wit down for Thanksgiving dinner tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped , Grandfathered, NCIS, Chicago Med, MasterChef Canada, & Chicago Fire.

chicagomed1117smallOne of the shows I’ve been looking forward to most this fall is Chicago Med. We’ve already seen several members of the cast of this latest spinoff from Chicago Fire on that and Chicago PD. The show takes place in one of Chicago’s busiest hospital, Chicago Med. They’ll tackle new cases inspired by topical events and form relationships within the chaos of the emergency room. We’ll also see familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments, which is always fun. There’s an amazing cast: Oliver Platt (Fargo, The Big Huff & more), S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order – I miss Lt. Van Buren!), Nick Gehlfuss (who we’ve seen many times now on Chicago PD as Jay’s brother!), Brian Tee (multiple episodes of Hawaii Five-0 & Crash), Torrey DeVitto (Pretty Little Liars, Army Wives, The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill), Colin Donnell (The Affair, Arrow), Yaya DaCosta (Chicago Fire, Ugly Betty, All My Children), & Rachel DiPillo (Jane the Virgin, The Gates, Big Time Rush).

One reason I’m excited about this is because I’m looking forward to having another medical show on that isn’t a primetime soap (*cough*Gray’s Anatomy*). In fact, in an interview on TVLine.com, they said, “We want to [be] much more in the ER and St. Elsewhere model than Grey’s Anatomy. It’s not going to be a pure soap by any stretch of the imagination, but there will be a lot of character storylines and emotional entanglements. We want to be telling cutting-edge stories about ethical conundrums and the state of medicine and health care in America today.” Check out the interview and the pictures. There’s some great info. (But beware of spoilers!)

On tonight’s episode, “Derailed,” the emergency department’s grand opening is interrupted by an onslaught of crash victims, pushing hospital administrator Sharon Goodwin and her staff to their limits as they frantically work to triage and treat patients. It’s all hands on deck as newly hired trauma surgeon Dr. Connor Rhodes, pregnant pediatrics specialist Dr. Natalie Manning, third-year resident Dr. Will Halstead, military-trained Dr. Ethan Choi, nurse April Sexton, and head of psychiatry Dr. Daniel Charles must pull together to save lives. Rounding out the team is medical student Sarah Reese, who quickly learns some of the hard lessons that come with life in the Emergency Department. Marlyne Barrett, David Eigenberg, Kara Killmer, and Jesse Lee Soffer guest star.

Meet the new team in Chicago tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped Junior, Grandfathered, NCIS, MasterChef Canada, NCIS: NOLA, & Chicago Fire.
