My love for Criminal Minds is strong this season, now that Spencer is back from prison, the team is back to working normal cases, etc. Last week, they tackled workplace shootings…with a twist. They couldn’t figure out how or why it had all gone down the way it had until Reid realized it had to have been a drone that did the actual shooting. And it was…piloted by a guy who’d been hired to pilot drones during actual missions for the military via a defense contractor. Unfortunately, his biggest “win,” according to the stats given to him by the defense contractor, with nearly 400 kills, wasn’t on a terrorist training camp, as they said, but to a school, where nearly all the ones killed were children. That broke the guy, who then used a drone he customized to kill all the ones on the team involved. When the defense contractor realized, they killed him to shut him up. Thank goodness the woman he tried to kill but didn’t get a chance to before she escaped – the woman who first hired him for the position – decided to turn on her boss and allowed the BAU to arrest the jerk.

My only problem with last week was the last bit with Emily and Luke. Hopefully the show isn’t going to “go there” with those two. I’ll be VERY upset! But speaking of pairings… Morgan is back this week, which I’m happy about. It’ll be great to see his interactions with Garcia, but hopefully we’ll get to see him with Reid some too, which we didn’t get last time!

On tonight’s episode, “Lucky Strikes,” when Garcia experiences anxiety over a case that’s personal to her from her past, Morgan visits to lend emotional support. Jamie Kennedy also guest stars.

Tonight, Mr. Robot returns to USA Network to kick off its third season. Last season Elliot went off the grid in an attempt to completely get rid of Mr. Robot. But no matter how hard he tried, his alter ego kept resurfacing. Meanwhile, Darlene took the lead at fsociety, and the group broke into the home of an E Corp lawyer, using it as their new headquarters. Darlene tried to get answers from the Dark Army about what Stage 2 is, but the only information she was able to obtain was that it was Elliot’s plan, and he couldn’t remember anything about it. Meanwhile, FBI Agent Dom DiPierro was looking into both fsociety and the Dark Army – which nearly proved fatal for her. After the diner shootout, she interrogated Darlene, showing her a blackboard with the entire fsociety member hierarchy laid out. In the second season finale, we learned that Tyrell was alive, but Elliot was convinced that he, too, was just in his head – an idea that was quickly disproved when Tyrell shot him.

Could Tyrell still be a figment of Elliot’s imagination? Anything is possible – Elliot could have just shot himself! But if Tyrell is all in his head, who is going to call for help?! What is Stage 2 of the Dark Army’s plan? What evil plan does E Corp going to hatch next on the public? And can Darlene talk her way out of Dom’s seemingly closed case?

Tonight’s third season premiere opens right where we left off, with Elliot lying on the ground, bleeding from a gunshot wound. While the opener won’t address all the open questions, we do get to meet a really fun new character played by Bobby Cannavale! Also, in each of the first two seasons, the series built to a big twist or reveal, and I can’t wait to see what this year’s “Holy crap!” moment will be. I’m looking forward to another exciting season of crazy twists and turns.

On tonight’s premiere, “Eps3.0_Power-Saver-Mode.H,” when Elliot suddenly becomes aware of his situation and realizes the mission he needs to embark on, he seeks Angela’s help; Darlene gets upset about them potentially coming out clean; Elliot deals with a mysterious new person.

Find out what help Elliot seeks from Angela tonight on USA Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, American Housewife, Designated Survivor, Survivor, The Blacklist, Riverdale, Dynasty, Worst Cooks in America, You’re the Worst, The Shannara Chronicles, Channel Zero: No-End House, and Mr. Mercedes.

Last week’s premiere of Chicago PD was rough. Don’t get me wrong… It was great, and I enjoyed it. But it was tough for several reasons. One was because Erin was gone. Jay seemed…lost…a couple of times. When he walked through the empty apartment (well, almost empty… what was with that stack of books just randomly left there?!) and found the picture of the two of them, my shipper heart broke. I certainly don’t begrudge Sophia Bush for wanting to move on, but Erin Lindsay was one of my favorite characters on TV, and I loved shipping her and Halstead. Poor Voight was dealing with her absence as well, but he seemed to be handling it better than Halstead. I did like seeing Hailey on the team for good. She’s a good fit with the others so far. As for the story line, it was tough to watch, especially Halstead learning he was the one who shot the little girl, but in the end, it worked out okay. I also wasn’t thrilled about Voight’s former partner, Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson), being back — having been found to be a “good cop,” really?! — and having been given the task of overseeing an internal investigation of Intelligence. Ugh.

Given the state of affairs in the world right now, tonight’s episode is going to hit hard for many people. But I also hope that it opens peoples’ eyes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover…meaning you can’t judge one person based on what another person does/other people do. Hopefully it’ll be a good teaching episode as well as an entertaining one.

On tonight’s episode, “The Thing About Heroes,” after a van explodes during a Chicago street festival, a Muslim patrol officer Frank Toma (guest star Ben Youcef) goes missing, and evidence quickly piles up pointing to his involvement. Burgess — who helped train Toma — is desperate to prove his innocence, even if that means going against her superiors.

See how Burgess defends her friend tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, SEAL Team, Worst Cooks in America, American Housewife, Best Baker in America, & Criminal Minds.

Like Monday night, one of my picks tonight is another new military-action drama. This time it’s CBS’s SEAL Team, starring David Boreanaz (Bones, Angel). He plays the “respected, intense leader” of a Tier One Navy SEAL team (ergo the title of the show…) that deploys on covert missions worldwide at a moment’s notice. Along with Hayes, the team consists of: Ray (Neil Brown Jr, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency), the man who’s been there the longest and with whom Hayes shares an ingrained shorthand, and Sonny (AJ Buckley, CSI: NY), an exceptional, loyal soldier with a checkered past who still combats self-destructive tendencies. Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot, Bates Motel, Texas Rising) is a young, multi-lingual second-generation SEAL with heavy drive and dedication, and he’s undergoing additional rigorous training in the hopes of joining Hayes’s select team. Also vita to the team are CIA analyst Mandy Ellis (Jessica Pare, Mad Men, Jack & Bobby) who has sacrificed everything in her drive to root out evil and take down terrorists, and Davis (Toni Trucks, Barbershop, Made in Jersey), a no-nonsense, take-charge logistics officer and unofficial den mother responsible for outfitting the team with the necessary gear for each mission.

I really enjoyed this pilot. There’s a lot of action, a lot of family time that is far from without drama. It out of all the like-minded shows this season reminds me of The Unit, which is one of my all-time favorite shows. I’ve been excited to share this one with my family and can’t wait to see the pilot again and new episodes myself.

On tonight’s episode, “Tip of the Spear,” an elite unit of Navy SEALs must navigate their professional and personal lives as they execute dangerous, high-stakes missions.

Check out this military drama tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

Tonight, ABC’s Wednesday comedies have their season finales, and for two of tonight’s shows, that means high school graduations. On The Goldbergs, it’s Erica who’s graduating, and on Modern Family, both Manny and Luke will be finishing up their high school experiences. Both of these series have already been picked up for next season (Modern Family for two more seasons!). I can’t imagine these shows without Erica, Luke, or Manny, but I’m sure the writers will find some way to ensure that these characters’ post-graduation activities cause them to remain close to home. I always enjoy these family comedy season finales, as there’s usually some sort of big family event tied into them. However, I will really miss these shows over the summer!

On tonight’s The Goldbergs finale, “Graduation Day,” graduation day is quickly approaching, and Erica cannot wait to get out of the house, until it dawns on her how much Beverly’s love means to her. Meanwhile, Barry’s plans for himself and Lainey turn to dust; and Dana makes a surprise visit just as Adam and Jackie officially become a couple.

Later, on tonight’s Modern Family finale, “The Graduates,” Javier shows up for Manny’s high-school graduation and takes him out for a wild night of celebration, but Jay must step in to pick up the pieces. Meanwhile, the rest of the Pritchett clan get ready for Luke and Manny’s big day.

To check out the graduations, tune in to ABC at 8/7c & 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Speechless, Downward Dog, Designated Survivor, Survivor, The 100, Fargo, and Archer.
