Jenny’s Choice #1
Tonight is another new drama that I’m excited to see: ABC’s Conviction. Hayley Atwell (Marvel’s Agent Carter) plays lawyer and former First Daughter Hayes Morrison, is caught using drugs and is offered a job from her sexy nemesis, NY District Attorney Conner Wallace (played by CSI: New York alum, Eddie Cahill). If she works with his team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit, which reexamines cases where there is a credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, she’ll avoid jail time and will avoid hurting her mother’s Senate campaign. She’s a party girl with a privileged upbringing who is offered a chance to turn her life around.
I was really excited about this show when I saw the trailer. I haven’t seen the pilot, so I have no idea if it’ll be any good or not, but I love the premise, and I love the cast. I didn’t watch Agent Carter, but Hayley Atwell is adorable and I’ve heard she was great in that. Eddie Cahill was one of my favs on CSI: New York, and the others are good too: Daniel Franzese (Looking & Recovery Road), Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead), Manny Montana (whom I recognize from Graceland), not to mention Merrin Dungey (Alias, Once Upon a Time) and Shawn Ashmore (The Following).
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,†after joining the Conviction Integrity Unit, Hayes pushes the team to consider the case of Odell Dwyer, a handsome former high school football player who has been in prison for eight years for murdering his girlfriend.
