brooklyn99126smallOn the last new episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Terry had to go visit a prisoner in Rikers, but when Sharon, his very pregnant wife, had plans to meet him at the precinct so they could go on a last-minute-before-the-baby-comes weekend vacation, he left Jake in charge of keeping her safe and comfortable while she waited for him. Unfortunately Sharon admitted that Captain Holt made her uncomfortable – (because he was always awkward around her… Hilariously so!) – so Jake had his work cut out for him. Also unfortunately, Sharon went into labor, and Jake and Holt had to track down Holt’s ex to deliver her baby because Sharon didn’t want to go to the hospital after a bad experience during her first delivery. In the end, there were complications and he suggested she go anyway, and she did. It’s a good thing, as the baby girl was FOURTEEN pounds. Eek! And because he’d been so good with Sharon and he was friends with Terry, Jake got to be the first to meet the new baby.

On tonight’s episode, “The Swedes,” in an attempt to solve an international case, Jake and Rosa are forced to work with a pair of Swedish cops and things get very competitive, very quickly. Meanwhile, Amy and Terry offer to help Gina prepare for a big test and Holt enlists Charles to sub in as his squash partner for an annual tournament.

To see if Jake and Rosa can get along with the Swedes, tune in to FOX at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, Agent X, Holiday Baking Championship, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

santasinthebarnsmallI was going to pick the season premiere of Top Chef for tonight because I love that show so much, but instead, my pick is the series premiere of another reality competition show, Santas in the Barn on TruTV, the search for the nation’s best Santa. Ten Santas from across the country come to live at the ultimate Christmas fantasy camp, where they’ll compete in over-the-top Christmas-themed challenges to see who most lives the “Santa Way.” They will vote on who most exemplifies the Christmas spirit, with the winner getting $100,000 and the title of America’s Best Santa.

I have no idea how good or bad this is going to be. It could be cheesy and simply awful, or it could be a lot of fun, something to help get viewers into the Christmas spirit. I’m hoping it’s the second, but even if it’s the first, it might be fun to watch regardless! Based on the photos I saw on the show’s site, most of the wannabe Santas are…different-looking than your normal Kris Kringle. I can’t wait to see how fun and silly the challenges are and which Santa is my favorite!

On tonight’s episode, “Welcome to the North Pole,” the Santas learn how to stack gifts, climb chimneys, and a whole lot more as they embark on a once in a lifetime journey to become America’s Best Santa.

Meet the Santas tonight on TruTV at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hellevator, Rosewood, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Cutthroat Kitchen, Modern Family, black-ish, Code Black, Mystery Diners, & Top Chef.

theflash121smallTonight, The CW kicks off what is promised to be an epic 2-part crossover between The Flash and Arrow – as well as a launch point for the upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow spin-off series. In last week’s episode of The Flash, Barry found himself wounded both physically and mentally after his battle with Zoom. It was bad timing because super-intelligent gorilla Grodd had returned to Central City and was causing a ruckus once again. Grodd kidnapped Caitlin and put her to work on creating more apes like him. Wells came up with a plan to disguise himself as the Reverse Flash and pretend to be the Earth-1 Wells in order to distract Grodd, and it was up to Cisco to teach him how to act like his evil counterpart.

Things didn’t go quite exactly as planned – they did manage to rescue Caitlin, but Grodd was still on the loose in the city. However, a visit from father Henry is just what Barry needed to regain his confidence. He sped after Grodd, tricking him into getting sucked into one of the breaches between the worlds, sending him to Earth-2. Meanwhile, Cisco and Kendra finally went on their date, but a kiss at the end caused Cisco to vibe, and this time he realized the birdman he’d been having visions of was actually Kendra.

Will Cisco tell Kendra he knows her secret? And if so, how would that affect their relationship? And what about Barry and Patty – she knows he’s been lying to her. Will she figure out his secret identity on her own, or will he reveal it to her? It seems like everyone knows these days, so why not?!

I’m excited for tonight’s crossover because not only is it the sole reason that I’m still watching Arrow but also because I’m really looking forward to the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off, and it will be great to get a glimpse at some of the characters that will be a part of that series.

On tonight’s episode, “Legends of Today,” a crossover episode with Arrow begins with Vandal Savage attacking Kendra and Cisco. Barry then takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver to hide her until he can stop Vandal. But Hawkman, a man with wings, shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay to test it.

Check out The Flash half of the crossover event tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Grandfathered, The Grinder, Scream Queens, iZombie, and Chrisley Knows Best.

ncisnola1124smallI have really fallen in love with NCIS: NOLA. Having one of my favorite “worlds” (the NCIS world) set in unique and picturesque New Orleans has been great. Last episode was killer (no pun intended). I felt so bad for Francesca, the fiancee of the man who was killed. I was glad that I was wrong when I guessed that he might have been in on it. Instead, it was her (unknown to her) half brother who killed her fiance because she was going to be able to inherit some of their recently deceased father’s estate. I did guess correctly that the city-wide blackout was tied into the murder somehow. It was just too coincidental not to be. But poor Francesca… She now knows who her father was, but he’s dead, and now her fiance is dead too. At least she’ll get to know her father’s wife… (Not sure that’s a real positive or not. LOL) I did love how Loretta had to conduct the autopsy via candlelight! That was fun and a little creepy.

I’m excited about tonight’s episode because we’ll get to look back at the early relationship between Pride and Lasalle. I always love getting to see the backstory for characters, and as this one takes a look back just before Hurricane Katrina, it should be a really emotional one.

On tonight’s episode, “Billy and the Kid,” the murder of a Marine provides new clues in the first case Pride and Lasalle ever worked together, just before Hurricane Katrina struck the city and washed away any evidence. Also, the team celebrates Thanksgiving together in Pride’s bar.

See if the team can catch a murderer before they wit down for Thanksgiving dinner tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped , Grandfathered, NCIS, Chicago Med, MasterChef Canada, & Chicago Fire.

thelionguardsmallTonight, the Disney Channel is airing an all-new animated special set in the world of The Lion King. The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar is the one-hour preview for a new animated series coming to Disney in January. Simba (Rob Lowe The Grinder) and Nala’s (Gabrielle Union, Being Mary Jane) cub Kion (Max Charles, The Strain) is growing up and wants to prove that he’s ready to follow in his father’s footsteps. The Lion Guard has been protecting the Pride Lands for ages and has always been comprised solely of lions. However, now that he is the leader of the group, Kion wants to assemble a more diverse group of animal friends, each with his or her own talents, to protect their home land from hyena Janja (Andrew Kishino) and his sidekicks, Cheezi (Vargus Mason) and Chungu (Kevin Schon).

The new Lion Guard consists of cheetah Fuli (Diamond White, Haunted Hathaways) who brings her speed, hippopotamus Beshte (Dusan Brown, About a Boy) who brings his strength, cattle egret Ono (Atticus Shaffer, The Middle) who brings his excellent sight, and honey badger Bunga (Joshua Rush) who brings his bravery. Some other familiar faces will also return – Kion’s sister Kiara (Eden Riegel, Youthful Daze), wisecracking meercat Timon (Kevin Schon) & warthog Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella), baboon Rafiki (Khary Payton, Teen Titans Go!), red-billed hornbill Zazu (Jeff Bennett), and the ghost of Mufasa (James Earl Jones). The cast of characters also includes Kiara’s lioness cub friends Tiifu (Sarah Hyland, Modern Family) and Zuri (Madison Pettis, The Fosters), and Janja’s minion vulture Mzingo (Jonny Rees, Hawaii Five-0).

While I never watched Disney’s previous Timon and Pumbaa animated spin-off series, I am really looking forward to checking out this new spin-off. I was a big fan of the original Lion King movie, and watching the trailer for tonight’s special, I was quickly reminded of why. It looks like this new show recaptures the humor, drama, and action that made that film franchise so great.

See if this new show will take you back to your childhood tonight on Disney Channel at 7/6c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, The Librarians, The Walking Dead, Into the Badlands, and Getting On.
