I didn’t get into Impractical Jokers until the last season or so. I thought it was a normal hidden camera show, which I find funny but get tired of really quickly. But my son really liked it and was watching it one day in the living room, and I saw it and laughed harder than I’d laughed in a while. These four friends (Sal, Joe, Murr, & Q) are an absolute riot to watch. This is must-see TV in our house, and if you give it a chance, it just might be in yours as well. Tonight’s a good night to check it out because it’s the season premiere. And don’t miss the “Inside Jokes” episode after, where you get to see behind-the-scenes shots and information during a previously aired episode. Those are always hysterical!

On tonight’s episode, “Swim Shady,” the guys are hit with some bad reception while working behind a desk; the guys head to the park where they ask strangers for advice on their questionable life choice; tonight’s big loser is tasked with taking photos of a water aerobics class.

Find out who loses big tonight on TruTV at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, MasterChef: Junior, Powerless, The Great Indoors, Chicago Med, Top Chef, My Kitchen Rules, & Beat Bobby Flay.

superstore1110smallLast week on Superstore, it was election day, and Cloud 9 served as a polling station. Dina and Glenn accidentally destroyed a bunch of the ballots and then bickered a lot while trying to figure out a way to cover it up. Meanwhile, Amy and Jonah were having fun creating an alternative election pamphlet, but this came to an abrupt end when Jonah’s new girlfriend Namoi showed up – Amy seemed a bit jealous when she learned Jonah had a girlfriend. And Mateo realized he was an illegal alien and desperately tried to get a hold of an “I Voted” sticker in order to stop people from questioning him as to why he hadn’t voted yet.

Tonight we get a double dose of episodes for the fall finale. This show is a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see how Cloud 9 deals with Black Friday! While I really like Amy and Jonah together, it seems odd that the writers are still pursuing this will-they-wont-they storyline. They sort of wrote themselves into a corner by making her married with a child – who wants to root for a homewrecker in a comedy?!

On tonight’s first episode, “Seasonal Help,” unruly seasonal employees are hired to help over the holidays. Among them is Amy’s husband, a development that exposes her in unexpected ways. Also, the temps frustrate Jonah and Garrett, and Glenn seeks the perfect person to play the store’s Santa.

Then, in “Black Friday,” the staffers all fall ill with food poisoning on the busiest shopping day of the year, yet a frantic Amy suspects her nausea is morning sickness. Also: Glenn’s demeanor changes following a pharmacy trip; and Mateo and Cheyenne embark on a side business.

Catch the double episodes tonight on NBC at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The Great Indoors, Life in Pieces, The Blacklist, Pitch, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and 60 Days In.

greatindoors1027smallI love fish-out-of-water comedies, and I think I’m going to love CBS’s latest, The Great Indoors. Joel McHale (Community & The Soup) stars as Jack, a renowned adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine. He is used to traveling the world, living an “outdoorsy” life while writing up his adventures for the magazine. But when his boss, Roland (Stephen Fry!), announces that the magazine is moving to web-only, Jack has to become an office bee when Roland assigns him to supervise their online team of “journalists.” These millennials are all the opposite of Jack – used to doing everything indoors and online, where their idea of observing nature is watching a YouTube video of a bear family enjoying a swimming pool in someone’s backyard.

It should be a lot of fun watching them all try to get the other(s) to open their minds, get out of their comfort zones, and show that just because something is different, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. The show also stars Susannah Fielding, Chris Williams, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Christine Ko, & Shaun Brown.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Joel McHale stars as Jack, a renowned adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine who must adapt to the times when he becomes the new desk-bound boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the publication. Amy Hill, Jason Boegh, Will Herndon, & Deborah Baker, Jr. guest star.

Meet Jack and the rest of the team tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Rosewood, The Good Place, Chicago Med, Chopped, The Almost Impossible Game Show, Beat Bobby Flay, Impractical Jokers, & Pure Genius.

legendsoftomorrow1013smallTonight, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns for its second season on The CW. As the first season came to a close, the group finally managed to put an end to Vandal Savage’s evil plan to conquer the world by killing him simultaneously in three different time periods – Mick and Ray took him out in 1958; Sara, Jax, and Professor Stein in 1975; and Carter, Hunter, and Kendra in 2021. However, even with Savage gone, there was still an explosive meteor to contend with, and so Hunter used the Waverider to fly the meteor into the sun but miraculously managed to survive himself. As the team reconvened in 2016, Kendra and Carter decided to head off on their own to give their relationship a go. But soon after they left, a second Waverider crashed down in front of the team, and out stepped Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams), who warned the group that they will die if they get back on board.

Who is this mystery man, how did he get a Waverider, and how does he know the future? Will the group heed his warning or just head off again on another mission? I’m looking forward to seeing what time-traveling adventures await the group this season, though I hope the writers don’t try to stretch out a single story over the entire season like last year. I would love to see several different arcs and villains over the course of this second season.

On tonight’s premiere, “Out of Time,” Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional historian, makes a shocking discovery. Nate then seeks out Oliver Queen for help to find the scattered Legends. Once reunited, they try to protect Albert Einstein from being kidnapped before the Nazis destroy New York City with a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile, Ray notices that Sara has a mission of her own, which leads them both to face her nemesis, Damien Darhk.

Check out the season premiere tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, Superstore, The Good Place, The Blacklist, Pitch, 60 Days In, and Falling Water.

legendsoftomorrow519smallTonight, the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow comes to a close. Last week, Rip, Martin Stein, and Ray Palmer were locked up in the prison at the Vanishing Point. Just as the Time Masters were about to have Chronos execute them, Leonard Snart and Sara Lance showed up to save the day. And it turned out that Mick had been able to resist his re-programming. The group then set out to destroy the source of the Time Masters’ time manipulation abilities, the Oculus. When they arrived at the wellspring, they found it well-guarded. And ultimately Snart volunteered to sacrifice himself in order destroy the Oculus. This left Savage without the power of the Time Masters to manipulate time for him, and so it seemed like it was just a matter of time (so-to-speak) until he would no longer be in power. However, Savage revealed that he had his own time machine and that he didn’t need the Time Masters anyway.

Will this team ever find a way to stop Vandal Savage? Where/when will they head next, and what is their next plan of attack? I’m looking forward to seeing how the season ends and what the show’s creators set up for next season. I’m kind of hoping they find a way to resolve this Vandal Savage story line or expand the universe so that we can explore some new villains next season.

On tonight’s finale, “Legendary,” season 1 ends with Rip returning the team to Central City a few months after they first left. They return to their normal lives and must decide individually whether to sacrifice everything in order to save the world. Meanwhile, Sara visits with her father, who delivers some heartbreaking news about her sister.

Find out what decisions everyone makes tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Blacklist, Bones, The 100, Archer, 60 Days In, & Orphan Black.
