Well, the end of August is here, bringing with it a new season of NFL football and the final season of HBO’s Ballers. Last season had that odd nine-episode count that saw Spencer take on the NCAA in honor of his brother’s tragic death. The finale started with Spence visiting his brother William’s grave. He declared “Fuck the NCAA,” just before we saw that the league’s head had been served with lawsuit papers. Joe had his meeting about the Illegal Civilization sneaker deal interrupted by news of Spencer’s reckless actions. Meanwhile over at Ricky’s house, his family had an intervention confronting him about his steroid use. Joe confronted Spencer about the lawsuit. He could be screwing over everyone around him: the NFL had already threatened to revoke their licenses that allowed them to operate a franchise in Las Vegas.

Ricky confessed to Charles about his drug use just before he signed his new contract. Charles was furious and told him to cut the drugs out and act as if he never told him. In a live TV interview, Spencer cited the tragic death of his brother in the wake of his loss of NCAA eligibility and went on to call out numerous abuses the NCAA perpetrates against student athletes. Joe intercepted the Anderson brothers at the airline and convinced them to not axe the Vegas deal, to get on the right side of history. When the NCAA sat down with Spencer, they offered to reinstate Quincy in exchange for dropping his lawsuit, but Spencer refused. The NCAA refused to pay student athletes, so there was no deal. No dice, Spence. No dice.

Joe assured Spencer that he had his back one hundred on hundred, but Spence resigned to shield all his partners, clients, & employees from the potential blowback his lawsuit would create. In the last scene, Spencer saw on the news that Quincy got reinstated anyway and that he had selected USC to play football for. In a mid-credits scene, we watched Joe reach out to Lance about coming back to work with the agency he now ran by himself. An offer of ayahuasca sets the stage for whatever wackiness those two will indulge in this coming season five. The Rock, Rob Corddry, & Russel Brand for eight episodes this year? I’m in.

On tonight’s episode, “Must Be the Shoes,” after learning of competing owner offers, Spencer engages with past allies. Joe is tasked with apologizing for creating a hostile work environment with the help of Kate, a sharp Sports X exec. Ricky and Vernon each consider different kinds of futures, while Charles tries to hide some unwelcome news.

Don’t miss the premiere on HBO at 10:35/9:35c.

I’ll also be tuning in for Preacher & Pennyworth.

Does the Game of Thrones Slot Game Do the TV Show Justice?

“A Song of Ice and Fire” by author George R. R. Martin had been hugely popular within fantasy circles for years, but when HBO adapted it and gave us Game of Thrones, the franchise soared to new levels, becoming perhaps the most popular television show in recent memory. The combination of nonstop danger, exposed flesh, superb acting, and mature storytelling turned the show into a modern classic. A franchise this popular was never going to stop there. We’ve seen countless adaptions to other mediums, such as a board game, several video games, and fitting right in with the show’s mature audiences, a slot game. But when it comes to that very slot game, did developer Microgaming get it right?

Playing Game of Thrones slot

You can check out bestonlineslots.co.uk to start playing the Game of Thrones slot game. Once you do, you’ll hear the famous soundtrack, which, if you’re a fan of the show, will motivate you immediately. Then it’s on in the battle for the Iron Throne.

The 5-reel, 3-row slot offers you a choice of playing with either 243 ways to win or 15 pay lines. The former means that you only need to spin matching reels and not on fixed pay lines. The latter is self-explanatory.

Aesthetically, the slots have managed to capture the mood of the show perfectly. Expect dark and brooding as opposed to vibrant and colourful. After all, it’s a world in which epic battles are fought for the Westeros.

The standard playing card symbols (Jack, Queen, King, Ace) are here, along with shields depicting each house and their coat of arms. There’s also the Iron Throne symbol.

The slot will please fans of the novels and the show alike. You’ll notice a number of animated cut scenes from the show during the game, which helps to accent the drama. The impressive and detailed animation conjures up a range of emotions for the fight for leadership in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.

Bonuses and features

The slot is full of in-game features, including the aforementioned clips of the show, so it leaves no want for entertainment.

Stacked Wild symbols: These take the form of the Game of Thrones logo and substitute for any other symbol, which, in turn, enable you to form more winning combinations. Further, they can be stacked on the reels, allowing them to cover all spaces. That’s where you’ll find the big wins.

Scatter symbols: These take the form of the “Iron Throne.” The symbol helps to pay out prizes, regardless of where they’re showing on the scream. They also trigger free spins, which you’ll read more about below.

Four Free Spins: Each of the four spins provides its own set of advantages, which can reward you with up to 9 free spins, along with a bonus multiplier of up to 5x. During this round, simply play and wait to find out your reward, with the additional prizes added to your balance once the round is over.

Game of Thrones mobile slot

For those of you who enjoy playing games on your mobile devices, you’ll be pleased to know that a mobile version of the Game of Thrones slot is available. All of the same bonus rounds and scenes from the show are here, along with the soundtrack.

Whether you choose 243 ways two win or 25 pay lines and no matter what size of screen you play it on, all of the excitement of the slot will be available to you. In fact, it’s even easier to play on small touch screen devices.

Conclusion

Game of Thrones is another success from the renowned developers Microgaming and indeed does justice to the TV show and brand. Certainly, the slot can be dark, dramatic, and serious but, after all, that falls in line with the brand. It’s a faithful adaptation of the show, perfectly recreating the atmosphere, and with numerous original bonus features included, you may find that you just can’t stop spinning those reels.

You don’t even need to have seen the serious to enjoy playing the game, but certainly, if you’re a fan, you’ll love this version.

Tonight, the Game of Thrones series finale airs on HBO. Last week we lost several of the show’s main characters. Daenerys questioned Jon’s and Tyrion’s loyalty for sharing the information about Jon’s true lineage with others. Tyrion revealed that Varys was plotting against the queen, so she had him executed. Before the battle for Kings Landing began, Tyrion begged Daenerys to call off her attack if the people of King’s Landing rang the bell of surrender, and she reluctantly agreed. The next morning, the attack was executed flawlessly, and Daenerys used the blinding sun to take out the Iron Fleet and blow open the city gates. Meanwhile, Jon led the attack on the ground with what remained of the Unsullied and Dothraki armies. The Golden Company was on the run. They dropped their weapons, and the bells signaling surrender were rung. However, Daenerys saw the city that used to belong to her family and decided to burn Kings Landing to the ground, sentencing hundreds of thousands of incident civilians to a fiery death. When Grey Worm saw Daenerys burning the city, he took this as an opportunity to get revenge for Missandei’s execution and spurred on a riot on the ground, causing the army to start massacring and assaulting the unarmed soldiers and civilians. Jon just looked on in horror.

Meanwhile, Arya and The Hound made their way to the city, each with a different target. The Hound wanted to kill his brother, while Arya was after Cersei. However, The Hound convinced Arya that her suicide mission was not worth it, so she decided to head back but hit obstacle after obstacle as the city crashed and burned. Elsewhere, the big showdown between The Hound and The Mountain ultimately resulted in both of them falling to a fiery death. Jaime had also made his way to the city, looking for Cersei. After being severely wounded in a fight with Euron on the shore, he stumbled up to the Red Keep, where he was reunited with his one true love/twin sister. However, as the pair tried to escape, they were trapped and crushed by falling rubble in the caverns below the city.

So how will this all end tonight? Daenerys has become the spitting image of her father, the Mad King. Tyrion and Jon must now realize that she is not the right person to sit on the throne, and something must be done to stop her. However, she still has her army and a fire-breathing dragon. What army does Jon have behind him? Will the Wildlings return to help Jon? Will Jon defeat Daenerys and claim the throne under his real name? Or else who will ultimately sit atop the throne? I can’t wait to see how this all ends tonight!

Don’t miss the 80-minute series finale tonight on HBO at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Good Girls, Supergirl, Killing Eve, A Discovery of Witches, and Barry.

Tonight, Game of Thrones finally returns to HBO to kick off its 6-episode final season. As the season 7 came to a close, Jon Snow was worried about the approaching army of White Walkers. He headed to Dragonstone, hoping to convince Daenerys to allow him to mine the dragonglass in order to make weapons to defeat the Night King. In exchange, she asked for this King of the North to bend the knee and proclaim her the true Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, which he eventually did. However, Jon also needed to convince Cersei that the Night Army was real and a bigger threat than her current battle over the Seven Kingdoms. So Jon and some men went on a mission to capture a White Walker “alive.” They ended up getting surrounded by the Night Army, and all looked hopeless until Daenerys showed up with her dragons to save them. But in the process, the Night King managed to kill one of the dragons with his spear and later resurrected it for his army. The Night King and his army then finally made their way to The Wall and easily broke through thanks to the new dragon.

There was a big meeting of all of those vying for the crown in Kings Landing. After seeing the undead White Walker, and thanks to some pleading by Tyrion, Cersei agreed to supply her army for the fight against the Night Army. However, after everyone left, she revealed to Jamie that she had lied and had no intentions of helping Daenerys and the others in their fight against the White Walkers. Jamie was upset that his sister didn’t see the more important matter at hand and disobeyed her orders, fleeing to join the fight against the Night King. Meanwhile, Sam made his way to Winterfell and met with Bran. When the two compared their information, they discovered that Jon Snow was not the bastard they believed him to be – his real name was Aegon Targaryen, and he is the true heir to the Iron Throne. This would also make Daenerys his aunt…news that might be a bit awkward since the two were currently having sex on their ship back from the meeting with Cersei!

So with only 6 episodes left, there’s a lot of ground to cover. First and foremost, how will this group defeat the fast-approaching Night King and his Night Army? And once that is resolved, who will ultimately sit in the Iron Throne? How will Jon and Daenerys react to the news of Jon’s true identity and their familial relation? Not just because they are knocking boots, but also, it seems like Daenerys really wants the throne and may not be willing to bend the knee to her nephew. Also, what will Cersei be planning while the others are distracted fighting the White Walkers, so that she can ensure she remains on the throne?

I’m excited to see how the series comes to an end, but at the same time, it’s sad to think that there are only 6 episodes left! A couple weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend HBO’s world premiere for the final season in New York City, where I got to meet and shake hands with many of the cast members and got an early look at tonight’s episode! You can check out my write-up of the event at NoReruns.net.

Don’t miss tonight’s 54-minute premiere on HBO at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Good Girls, Killing Eve, A Discovery of Witches, Barry, and Veep.

Jenny’s Choice

If you were a big fan of the original Charmed like I was, you’re either really excited about or really dreading tonight’s premiere of the “reboot” or whatever they’re calling it. It’s a little confusing because it’s not the same characters, but it is the same premise, yet one trailer does mention one of the characters from the original…so who knows!

Sisters Mel (Melonie Diaz, Laughs Unlimited) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery, Shades of Blue) are dealing with the tragic death of their mother when they suddenly learn they have an older sister named Macy (Madeleine Mantock, Into the Badlands, The Tomorrow People). Then comes an even bigger shock: they find out they’re witches and each suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities. They speak to Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans, Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, The Man in the High Castle), who explains about their mother and now the three of them being powerful witches and that he’s their “Whitelighter,” or advisor/guide. Together, the three of them must decide to accept their new destiny as the Charmed Ones and their new duty to hunt down the demons that walk among humans – including the one who killed their mother. Charlie Gillespie, Ellen Tamaki, and Ser’Darius Blain also star.

I can’t go into this show prepared to compare it to the original. That version (along with Prue, Piper, Phoebe, & Paige, not to mention Leo, Chris, & Darryl) will always hold a special place in my heart. So I have to watch and think of it as something new or else I know I won’t return for a second ep. What about you? Are you planning to watch?

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” after the tragic death of Mel and Maggie’s mother, the sisters are shocked to discover they have an older sister; the three sisters begin to exhibit strange new abilities.

Find out what abilities the sisters have tonight on The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Halloween Wars, NCIS: LA, & Haunted Gingerbread Showdown.
