hawaiifiveo422smallThere were two main story lines on last week’s Hawaii Five-0. The main case dealt with a stolen…well, basically Iron Man suit. It was virtually indestructible. After some legwork, the team was able to find a woman who was involved with the heist – the thief was after a gun she had as evidence – and she told them where she was supposed to meet the thief to give him the gun. Of course he showed up in the suit of armor, which meant any bullets they shot, even Kono on the sniper rifle, wouldn’t hurt him. So Steve let him go and then rammed into the SUV he was driving with one of the police SUVs. That did it.

The other story was Jerry and his crazy beautiful sister, who breezed into town, saying she wanted to say hi to her brother. It turned out that she had hooked up with an animal-rescue organization and was there to free a circus elephant. Unfortunately, when she was loading it into the truck they had, a car alarm went off and scared it, and it took off in a rampage. Although it did some damage, no one was killed, and she was able to recapture it and keep it someplace safe. With Jerry’s help, along with Kamekona & Max, they were able to get the animal safely on its way away from Hawaii. Steve knew Jerry was involved and needled him about it, but Jerry didn’t get it trouble because of it.

I love this show. It’s so much fun because of the stories and the characters. And this week is going to involve one of my favorite characters – Adam Noshimuri, Kono’s husband. He’s in prison after killing one of the men who had kidnapped him and might have killed him. He could have gotten away with it, but he’s such a good man that he turned himself in to the police. Kono is worried, though, because she just found out from someone else that the current big-bad, Gabriel Waincroft, visited Adam in prison and offered him a job. Adam said he didn’t take it, but since he didn’t tell Kono about Gabriel himself, she’s worried he isn’t telling her the whole truth. Given the description for tonight’s episode, I’m guessing he wasn’t.

On tonight’s episode, “Ka Pono Ku’oko’a (The Cost of Freedom),” Five-0 goes on a manhunt when a deliberate chemical spill enables six dangerous inmates to escape, including Kono’s husband, Adam. Randy Couture guest stars as serial arsonist Jason Duclair.

Find out why Adam runs tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, Grimm, Hell’s Kitchen, & Motive.

wahlburgers2016smallOne of my favorite family reality shows, Wahlburgers, is back tonight on a 1-hour season premiere. Last season, it was more of the same for this fun family: Mark tortured Paul, Paul created a new burger for some football friends, Mark and Donnie got to spend time together in NYC when their schedules overlapped, and new Wahlburger restaurants opened in Toronto and Coney Island. Not to mention we got lots of Alma and brother Bob. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store for the Walberg family this go round.

On tonight’s episode, “Directing Drama,” when Johnny Drama looks to take his music career to the next level, Mark suggests Drama make a music video that Mark himself will direct. The music video will be Drama’s Wahlburgers Rap Jingle and shot down in New Orleans where Mark is filming his latest movie. Mark enlists music mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs and movie director Peter Berg to help mentor Drama. But filming hits a rough patch when Drama is not comfortable with the alter ego “Drama Boy” that Mark creates for him.

Check out the crazy fun tonight on A&E at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Rosewood, Hell’s Kitchen, Property Brothers, & CSI: Cyber.

stitchers62smallI’m not a fan of a lot of shows on ABC Family, but their latest, Stitchers, is definitely on the “must-watch” side. The show follows Kirsten (newcomer Emma Ishta), a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Working alongside Kirsten is Cameron (Kyle Harris, Carrie Diaries), a brilliant neuroscientist whose passion for the program is evident in his work. The secret program is headed by Maggie (Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Eureka), a skilled veteran of covert operations, and includes Linus (Ritesh Rajan, upcoming Jungle Book), a socially immature bioelectrical engineer and communications technician. Kirsten’s roommate, Camille (Allison Scagliotti, Warehouse 13), a gifted computer science grad student, is also recruited to use her skills to assist Kirsten in her new role as a “stitcher.”

I’ve seen the first two episodes, and it’s really fantastic. Kirsten reminds me of Brennan on Bones, in that her sense of humor is…well…pretty much nonexistent. That in and of itself is funny. But it also makes the surrounding cast important, and thankfully, that’s not a problem. I adore Cameron (like, huge new TV crush), Linus is extremely funny, Camille is fun and interesting (and I absolutely love Allison Scagliotti), and Salli Richardson-Whitfield is great as Kirsten’s new boss.

On tonight’s episode, “A Stitch in Time,” a young woman with a talent for technology joins a covert agency to solve crimes and mysteries by entering the minds of recently deceased individuals.

Don’t miss the premiere tonight on ABC Family at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Chrisley Knows Best, Hell’s Kitchen, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, Chopped, Royal Pains, Your Family or Mine, & I Can Do That.

ncisnola55smallLast week’s NCIS: NOLA was a shocker. Lasalle’s brother called him late one night, and when Lasalle and his girlfriend, Savannah, showed up to meet Cade, they discovered the body of Cade’s girlfriend in his trunk. He swore he didn’t do it, that he’d been set up, and eventually the team figured out that he’d indeed been set up and they caught they people responsible. That was sad in and of itself because it seems like Cade’s doing really well — he’s on his meds, going to a therapist, etc. I hope this doesn’t cause him to slip backwards. But the shocker was Baitfish was back…and at the very end of the episode, we saw him confront Savannah…and then there was a gunshot after a fade to black. Based on tonight’s episode description, I can only assume that he shot her and she’s dead. That really sucks because they were cute together and I don’t want Lasalle hurt. Then again, I love the chemistry he and the undercover DEA agent (I think?) have, so I guess this opens up that door.

On tonight’s episode, “How Much Pain Can You Take,” to send a message to Pride, Baitfish murders someone close to the NCIS team, prompting a citywide manhunt for the elusive criminal.

Find out who dies and if Pride and the team can catch Baitfish tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 19 Kids & Counting, Hell’s Kitchen, NCIS, iZombie, Undateable, Chicago Fire, Chopped, & Your Family or Mine.

theflash324smallLast week’s episode of The Flash was amazing—and so eventful! Mark Mardon, the brother of the pilot episode’s Weather Wizard Clyde, returned to Central City, looking to get revenge on those responsible for his brother’s death. Meanwhile, Barry and Linda inadvertently went on an awkward double-date with Eddie and Iris—and there was a lot of flirting between Barry and Iris, which wasn’t lost on Eddie or Linda. Back at the lab, Cisco confronted Doctor Wells about his connection to the Reverse Flash, and in true supervillain fashion, he told Cisco EVERYTHING—that his real name is Eobard Thawne, that he is the Reverse Flash, and that he is from the future and had traveled back in time to try to kill Barry but accidentally murdered Barry’s mother instead. After his long speech, Wells killed Cisco. Elsewhere, Barry was running extremely fast to try to stop the tsunami created by Mark and inadvertently broke the space-time continuum and ended up in the past, reliving that same day.

When Cisco was killed in last week’s episode, I was surprised but only worried for a few seconds. At the beginning of the episode, when there was a scene with someone comically spilling a drink all over themselves, I suspected we might be getting a Groundhog Day-style episode, and that was a cue for us and Barry to remember. However, Barry doesn’t know the truth about Wells or what he’s about to do to Cisco—so will he change enough things in his do-over of the day to cause those events to never happen? Or is Cisco just predestined to confront Wells and die? Now that Barry has discovered that he can travel through time, what will he do with that power? And if Wells’s plan was to kill Barry, why is he keeping him around—what is his ultimate goal?

On tonight’s episode, “Rogue Time,” the Flash learns that Captain Cold and Heat Wave have returned to Central City, and that Snart has brought along his sister Lisa to help wreak havoc on the town.

Find out what happens in Central City tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Forever, Undateable, One Big Happy, The Mindy Project, iZombie, Justified, Cougar Town, and Face Off.
