thegoodplace113smallI continue to thoroughly enjoy NBC’s The Good Place. It is easily my favorite new comedy of the season. Last week Michael pulled out his lie detector cube and interrogated the group one by one to figure out who had killed Janet. Meanwhile, Janet finally got some of her memories back and was able to retrieve Eleanor’s file, so Michael changed his focus toward figuring out how Eleanor accidentally ended up in the Good Place – and we got a glimpse of some of the morally questionable things Eleanor did. Afterward, Michael put Eleanor on the train to the Bad Place. However, he quickly had a change of heart and stopped the train and asked his Bad Place counterpart, Trevor, if he could have Eleanor back to see if she could learn to become good. He agreed to this but said that the other Eleanor Shellstrop was going to have to stay with him in the Bad Place until things got sorted out. And then the two Eleanors came face to face.

These cliffhangers at the end of each episode are so amazing and make me so anxious to see what happens next. I wish I could binge the entire season all at once! I can’t wait to see the other Eleanor’s reaction to this whole situation – and what the “bad” Eleanor will even say to her. Is Michael really going to let the “good” Eleanor rough it out in the Bad Place while he sees if our Eleanor is redeemable? Will Michael learn that Jianyu was also misplaced, and are there any others? And how did this happen in the first place?

On tonight’s fall finale, “…Someone Like Me as a Member,” Michael faces a challenge when he tries to resolve an unprecedented situation. In addition, Chidi makes a connection, to Eleanor’s chagrin, and a different side of Janet emerges.

To see how the first half of the season wraps, tune in to NBC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The Great Indoors, Life in Pieces, Superstore, The Blacklist, Pitch, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and 60 Days In.

chicagofire111smallLast week was a busy episode for Chicago Fire. Faced with the possibility of losing foster son Louie because Casey used his position as alderman to jump Gabby ahead in line for fostering, Casey called Susan Weller to help put out the political fire. It worked…but he also figured out that she was behind it all to begin with – she’d set the other alderman on Casey to get him to call her. He’s now threatened her to stay away from him and Gabby, but I don’t know how well that’ll work… Meanwhile, Severide was all about hanging out with rich, party guy Travis Brenner. He even got Travis to stop by Molly’s as a favor to the guys, in the hopes that he would drive more customers, which worked. Of course, not long before Severide was supposed to go off on a long trip across Europe with him, Brenner showed more of his true colors by leaving a woman (who’d nearly died of a drug overdose at his party) outside the hospital on the bench, rather than taking her inside. Severide realized the guy wasn’t good for him and decided not to go on the trip. And finally, Stella met a sick, homeless teenager during a tunnel fire, and she tracked him down – along with help from Chief Boden, the DA, and Ms. Goodwin from Chicago Med – to help get him treatment. It was nice to see that side of Stella after the whole Grant thing (which, by the way, ended in a way that let us see just why Stella had handled it all like she did).

On tonight’s episode, “Nobody Else is Dying Today,” while checking out a warehouse as part of his Alderman’s duties, Casey finds himself in a bad spot when a forklift accidentally pierces a tank storing acid causing an extremely hazardous spill. With a father and daughter in peril, Casey is forced to use extreme measures to remedy the situation. Dawson and Brett respond to an elderly woman who has a difficult senior advocate. Meanwhile, Mouch and Brett continue along with their secret project together, and Otis shares some exciting news as he prepares himself for an unusual expedition. Amy Morton (Chicago PD) guest stars.

Check out the excitement tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped Junior, NCIS, American Housewife, Bull, MasterChef Canada, No Tomorrow, Aftermath, Chopped, & NCIS: NOLA.

timeless1031smallI’ve been really enjoying NBC’s fun time-travel series, Timeless. Last week the gang headed to Nazi Germany, where they had to stop Flynn from giving Wernher von Braun, the Father of Rocket Science, to the Soviets. Along the way the team ran into James Bond author Ian Fleming, who took a liking to Lucy. And when the group returned, they were excited to discover that there was a brand “new” Sean Connery Bond film based on their adventure! Meanwhile Flynn was able to use a nuke to create a long-lasting battery for his ship, which may make it more difficult for the team to keep up with him and track his location.

What I really enjoy about this show is its blend of action, mystery, history, and fun. Each week we get some tiny clues as to the larger mission Flynn is on and how Lucy is a part of that. I don’t know how they are ever going to fix history, as Flynn keeps causing small things to change here and there – though most of them seem to affect Lucy the most.

On tonight’s episode, “The Alamo,” the team gets stranded at the Battle of the Alamo, a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. They learn about trust and sacrifice as they face insurmountable odds and no hope of rescue.

See what gets turned around in history tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.

chicagopd1026smallI missed having a new episode of Chicago PD on last week because of the debate. On the episode a couple of weeks ago, people were shot and driven into with a car outside the concert of a young (teenage) rapper – including the rapper himself – and it was thought to be gang-related. It was, but not in the way they first thought. Turned out one gang was trying to turn two other gangs against each other, and it looked like it was working. They started attacking each other, until Voight took the leaders from both out to one of his spots and explained that neither were behind the original attack and to let this one go. That was a fun scene! Meanwhile, while trying to talk to some of the people on the “watch list” (a list of who they thought was most likely to be the next victim), Burgess saw Atwater’s younger brother at the house of one of the “watch list” kids. She cornered him, took him home, and stayed until Atwater got home. I don’t know if Atwater should have come down harder on the kid or not. It seemed like he kind of just brushed it under the rug. Huh…

On tonight’s episode, “A War Zone,” Intelligence is tasked with tracking down the dealers of fentanyl – a drug that has been linked to multiple overdoses around the city. As they investigate possible sources, the team uncovers a series of dealers in a college smuggling ring. Meanwhile, Tay and Burgess come across a bloodied child who exposes a dark and twisted secret about his home life with his parents. Additionally, Mouse causes tension as he looks to reenlist in the army, and Platt tells Tay that she has been reassigned to her original post.

See if they can find the dealers and why Tay has to go tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Criminal Minds, Frequency, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, & That Awkward Game Show.

ncisnola1025smallLast week was a defining episode for Sebastian on NCIS: New Orleans. While his mom was in town, he was kidnapped by a small group of people who wanted his knowledge of virtual reality games (specifically ones where you break out of prisons and locked rooms, etc.) to help break a bad guy out of prison. Sebastian kind of rocked it… He reached out secretly via tablet to Pride when the bad guy left him alone in a room in the prison so Sebastian could start the process to break out the prisoner. After the bad guys nearly got away, Sebastian actually helped take them down after the left the prison. He felt so confident that he asked out the waitress he’d been sort of flirting with for a while.

I didn’t like that Percy wasn’t there last week, especially because Lasalle didn’t know why she wasn’t there. Stupid writers… Giving us shippers some hope and then yanking it away! LMAO Tonight looks like it should be a good episode…an emotional one. I can’t wait!

On tonight’s episode, “Course Correction,” NCIS and FBI investigate a private plane crash in the bayou that killed three sailors. Also, Sonja and Lasalle interview candidates for the team’s open agent position.

See if they can figure out what caused the plane crash tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped Junior, NCIS, American Housewife, Bull, MasterChef Canada, No Tomorrow, Aftermath, Chicago Fire, & Chopped.
