Tonight, The Good Place returns for the first of its final 5 episodes of the season. When we last left off, Michael was worried that Janet’s dimwitted new boyfriend Derek was going to go blab to Vicky, so he sought advice from Eleanor and Chidi on how to handle the situation (besides just killing Derek). Meanwhile, Jason and Tahani went off on a weekend getaway, where Jason proposed to Tahani. The two planned to get married later that day on the beach, but the rest of the group rushed to stop them. Eleanor told Tahani that in a past iteration, Jason had been married to Janet, and that was enough for her to call off the wedding. Janet was then forced to confront her feelings for Jason, and this caused her to dispose of Derek herself. Finally, Eleanor showed Chidi the VHS tape of the two of them professing their love for one another in a past iteration, and both of them agreed they didn’t have feelings for one another. And the episode ended with Michael returning to his office, where his angry boss Shawn was waiting.

Can Michael really become a good guy, or is he up to something? Does Shawn know about Michael and the others? And if so, does this mean Michael is going to be permanently terminated, or is there some other twist that we don’t know about yet? What is our gang’s ultimate plan? Will Eleanor and Chidi admit they do have feelings for one another? Will Jason and Tahani end up together, or is there still a chance for Janet and Jason? (And how does that even work?!) This is one of the shows I really look forward to each week, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out, and what kind of new cliffhanger they leave us with 4 weeks from now!

On tonight’s episode, “Leap to Faith,” Michael receives a surprise visitor. Meanwhile, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason attempt to solve a riddle.

Find out if the group can solve the riddle tonight on NBC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Superstore, Will & Grace, Van Helsing, and Damnation.

Last week’s S.W.A.T. was quite good. A man was working on a bomb in an apartment, when it suddenly went off accidentally. He was killed, and it was a disaster zone outside, although I did love when Street heard a cry and he and Hondo pulled some debris off a young woman. She asked about the guy’s roommate, and that made Hondo realize they were most likely dealing with more than one bomber. In the end, it turned out to be a college professor with some rather wacked-out ideals who, combined with wanting revenge against the school for trying to fire him (which ultimately didn’t work since he had tenure), pushed the “far right” ideals onto some of his students. The dead bomber was one. The other showed up at the college with a third bomb after planting one at a business that happened to be empty (leading them to realize he didn’t really want to hurt people, just get his point across about big business/the rich/whatever). He ended up in a classroom with a small group of hostages, and Hondo wound up going in and talking the guy down. The professor was watching from not too far away, wanting to see the school explode, but then some of the team got there to arrest him. When he realized that and the fact that the school wasn’t exploding, he stepped off the roof of the building he was on, hoping to be a martyr, but the team grabbed him before he fell too far.

On a side note, Buck made me sad in this episode. He’s pulling back from the team – even Hondo – and I’m worried for him. But Street continues to grow little by little, and I’m enjoying his journey. All in all, I like the chemistry and the characters and even the story lines, so while it isn’t my favorite new show of the fall, I’m happy every time it comes on.

On tonight’s episode, “Imposters,” when a series of home invasions are committed by SWAT imposters in an upscale neighborhood, Hondo and the team suspect the burglarized families are all hiding something. Also, when Deacon and Luca are assigned to protect a visiting professional hockey player who is receiving death threats, his penchant for trouble becomes a complication. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti makes a cameo as a sports agent. Retired National Hockey League player John Scott guest stars as Bobby, a professional hockey player under SWAT protection.

See what secrets the families are hiding tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, & Beat Bobby Flay.

The S.W.A.T. writers have been doing an excellent job of letting us get to know the characters deeper each week, and last week we learned some interesting details about Street. Street’s mom is in jail for killing his father, but it was because his father was abusive and she wanted to protect him. However, his mother is definitely no saint, seeing as she uses emotional blackmail over Street to get him to do things for her. She convinced him to pay a visit to a guy on the outside who she claimed was abusive toward his supposed girlfriend. She wanted Street to warn the guy to stay away. It didn’t go well and ended with Street getting arrested for fighting. Hondo came and got it sorted out, but he wasn’t pleased.

Later Hondo got some information about Street’s mom and went to the jail to visit her. It turned out he learned that the guy wasn’t her friend’s boyfriend but the guy who helps supply her with contraband she can then sell in prison, and he was working more with the supposed girlfriend than Street’s mom. Hondo warned her that Street wouldn’t be coming to visit her for a while because she needed to stop manipulating her son. I was very happy to see Hondo stand up for Street, and I’m interested to see what happens next.

On tonight’s episode, “Radical,” after a domestic bomber dies in a Highland Park explosion, the SWAT team races to find the man’s partner before more devices detonate. Also, Hondo reaches out to Buck, his former team leader, when he worries he is isolating himself after his recent firing.

To find out if the team can find the partner before another bomb goes off, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Young Sheldon and Beat Bobby Flay.

I really enjoyed last week’s S.W.A.T. because the case-of-the-week was really interesting. Because Street went off book during a training exercise, he was “killed” and his team lost, which meant when four inmates escaped during transport, the two worst offenders were given to Mumford’s team to find, while Hondo’s team had to go after a local bad guy and a weird guy who was arrested flying back into the US with illegal turtles strapped to his legs. Mumford’s team quickly found the lessor bad guy of their two, but then Hondo’s team found their two, and the race was on to find the worst of the four…who was a violent criminal Jessica had helped put away. She explained to Hondo that a woman had testified, the only witness who would – and her son suffered for it. The word “rata” (Spanish for rat) was carved into his back.

Thankfully, Hondo and his team took the guy down after he kidnapped a 16-year-old young girl he said was “his.” Not only that, but the cousin who helped him escape went after the female witness and her kids, and Street and Chris took him down. The only thing that was a bit too silly for me was the way Hondo took the guy down – by standing outside a helicopter as it hovered outside the cabin the guy holed up in with his kidnap victim.

I’ve seen tonight’s episode as well as next week’s already, and I have to say, Street is growing on me. Even at the beginning of last week’s episode, I wasn’t sure about him, although I did like how he had learned and grown a little by the end. We learn more about him and his life in tonight’s episode, which is a great one!

On tonight’s episode, “Pamilya,” newcomer Jim Street jeopardizes his spot on Hondo’s team when he agrees to do a favor for his incarcerated mother that endangers his SWAT career. Also, the SWAT team searches for the ruthless mastermind behind a drug trafficking ring that forces immigrants to be mules. Sherilyn Fenn guest stars as Karen Street.

Find out what Street does for his mother tonight CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, & Beat Bobby Flay.

On last week’s episode of The Orville, the ship was docked for repairs, so Dr. Finn was taking her two sons for a vacation on a resort planet. Isaac was along for the ride as her pilot and to study Dr. Finn and her family to learn more about human nature. However, their shuttle hit some turbulence and they crash-landed on an uncharted moon far away from any help. Upon landing, Dr. Finn was separated from the others and was taken captive by a hermit who was living in a bunker where he was safe from the chemical weapon that has poisoned the water supply and had wiped out most of the food supply. Meanwhile, Isaac had to try to discipline the unruly boys while also trying to locate Dr. Finn and fix the shuttle in order to contact the Orville for help. And to make matters worse, the natives were circling, looking at the boys as a new food supply.

I am really enjoying this series. I like how they’ve managed to tackle some pretty serious topics but also manage to explain both sides and don’t get really preachy about one point of view or another. I was kind of surprised to see Isaac showing one of Dr. Finn’s young boys how to use a gun to kill the approaching aliens! The series has also done an excellent job at featuring different characters each week, giving them their own story lines. I haven’t been watching Star Trek Discovery due to CBS putting it behind their All Access paywall, but The Orville has certainly filled the Star Trek void for me.

On tonight’s episode, “Cupid’s Dagger,” the Orville is called to mediate a peace treaty between two warring cultures, but tensions run even higher between Ed and Kelly when a familiar face boards the ship. Meanwhile Yaphit declares his love for Dr. Finn with surprising results.

Find out who boards the ship and how Dr. Finn reacts tonight on FOX at 9:01/8:01c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Gotham, Nathan for You, Van Helsing, Ghost Wars, and Chrisley Knows Best.
