banshee48smallLast week, Banshee returned to kick off its fourth and final season on Cinemax. In an unusual move, the series took an 18-month time jump, and in that period, Lucas had become a recluse, squatting in a remote cabin belonging to Kai Proctor! Lucas was forced to come out of seclusion, clean up, and reenter society when Rebecca’s dead body washed ashore. After Sheriff Brock gave Lucas a tour of the newly-renovated police station, he told him that he and Kai Proctor – who is now the mayor – were both suspects. Lucas decided to look into who really killed Rebecca, which was going to be a tough task – while he was never really the sheriff, at least in the past he would have had the department resources to help him out on things like this. Meanwhile Carrie was having her own issues – her husband died at the end of last season, and shortly afterwards Social Services took away her children, and now she has to deal with court-mandated therapy sessions in order to get them back. We also learned that reformed neo-Nazi Kurt Bunker was still working for the Banshee PD and that he was secretly sleeping with his brother’s wife. And finally, we still don’t know where Job ended up after he was taken in last season’s finale.

While Lucas fears that Job may have been killed, I think that’s highly unlikely, and with only 7 episodes left, I hope he reappears soon, as he is my favorite character! Last week was a little slow of a start to the season, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how things ramp up, learning who killed Rebecca, and seeing what kind of explosive, over-the-top action sequences the show has planned!

On tonight’s episode, “The Burden of Beauty,” Carrie turns vigilante, while Brock suspects Lucas in the serial killings.

Find out what Brock does about his suspicions tonight on Cinemax at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Wynonna Earp, and Childrens Hospital.

slashersmallTonight, the Chiller network kicks off its first original scripted series Slasher with a special 2-hour premiere. In Halloween of 1988, in the small town of Waterbury, a young man and his pregnant wife were murdered by a hooded killer known as the Executioner. After committing the murders, Tom Winston cut the baby from his victim’s womb and rocked it while waiting for the police to arrive. Now, almost 28 years later, Sarah Bennett (Katie McGrath, Dracula) returns to Waterbury to live in her inherited house where her parents were murdered. Her husband Dylan (Brandon Jay McLaren, Graceland) gets a job at the local paper and is perturbed to discover that his wife is front-page news. However, that’s quickly changes as the Executioner has returned and resumes his deadly rampage, taking out the townsfolk one by one. The only problem is that Tom Winston is still in jail, so who has taken up the killer’s hood and mantle and why? As Sarah starts to uncover the town’s buried secrets, she finds herself consulting an unlikely source for help in trying to figure out what’s going on.

The series also stars Wendy Crewson (Saving Hope), Steve Byers (The Man in the High Castle), Dean McDermott (Ecstasy), Christopher Jacot (Eureka), Erin Karpluk (Being Erica), Rob Stewart (Killjoys), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue), Mark Ghanime (Helix), and Jessica Sipos (Ascension).

The series is very much of the horror genre where there is a serial killer on the loose who is brutally murdering people one by one. There are some very dark, creepy, and tense moments designed to make you jump, and you never know who is truly safe (well, you can probably guess one character who will make it to the end!). We’ve seen some other shows recently in this same vein, like Scream and Scream Queens; however, this series doesn’t have that campy, self-aware like tone of the others. Tonight’s two-hour premiere does a good job of establishing the setting, introducing us to some of the unusual folks who live in this town, and starting to unlock the larger mystery of what’s going on, who the Executioner copycat might be, and how he is choosing his victims.

On tonight’s 2-hour premiere, “An Eye For an Eye / Digging Your Grave With Your Teeth,” a woman finds herself at the center of a series of copycat killings, similar to her parents’ murders, when she returns to the small town where she was born.

To see if you get Chiller in your area, head to ChillerTV.com. If you do, tune in at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Second Chance, and Childrens Hospital.

sleepyhollow226smallSleepy Hollow has come back from hiatus and hit the ground running with a solid story that is continuing at a steady pace while still keeping us entertained with a weekly bad guy to watch our favorite witnesses fight.

On last week’s episode the Kindred returned and brought murder with him, but it would appear he is killing couples out of jealousy of their love. The creepy guy is lonely and looking for love… Wonder if Craigslist has a column for supernatural beings looking for their mate? Probably not, but that’s okay because apparently Ben Franklin anticipated this humanely need and made a bride for the Kindred that was stored centuries ago. Thanks to Ichabod and the team, they managed to bring her to life and stop the Kindred from murdering any more. It was a strange episode, but I will say that I’m enjoying the small moments of bonding that Crane and Abbie had this episode, and I’m hopeful we may finally be moving in a romantic direction for these two.

On tonight’s episode, “Sins of the Father,” when Jenny makes the decision to confront her father, family turmoil from the past rises to the surface. Meanwhile, Atticus Nevins returns to town, bringing more danger than the FBI could have imagined.

Find out how this family reunion goes tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, and The Amazing Race.

tbbt1119smallOn last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was finally ready to re-enter the dating world and posted an elaborate scavenger hunt on Craigslist to find his new Amy. The clues would test any potential mate’s intelligence and the fact that she had nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Raj and Howard counted down the seconds to the deadline, but it seemed that no one had solved the clues. A couple minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and Sheldon answered. The young woman who had solved his riddle seemed absolutely perfect for him, and they had great chemistry. However, Sheldon closed the door on her, saying that she had not completed the task in time. And that was it. Meanwhile, Leonard, Penny, and Bernadette had a stakeout to get a glimpse of Amy’s dinner date. Her date seemed like a great guy. However, once he discovered that Amy knew the famous Doctor Cooper and his colleagues, that’s all he wanted to talk about.

Amy and Sheldon haven’t really spoken much since the breakup, and I’m interested to see how Amy reacts when she learns that Sheldon had planned to propose. I think it’s only a matter of time before Amy and Sheldon get back together, and while I’d really like that to happen, I think it would be a lot of fun to see more of Sheldon trying to date other people.

On tonight’s episode, “The Platonic Permutation,” now just friends, Sheldon and Amy spend Thanksgiving at the aquarium; a reluctant Wolowitz volunteers at a soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj, and Emily; and Penny realizes that Leonard knows a bit more about her than he’s let on. Elon Musk guest stars.

To see what Leonard knows about Penny, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Life in Pieces, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes Reborn, The Blacklist, Bones, Sleepy Hollow, Haven, Spotless, and Nathan for You.

2brokegirls1112smallLast season on 2 Broke Girls, Sophie and Oleg finally tied the knot in a fun, crazy, and over-the-top wedding. Max and Caroline were bridesmaids in dresses that weren’t nearly as horrible as expected, Oleg rode Chestnut into the church, and Earl walked Sophie down the aisle, only to disappear under Sophie’s huge dress. After having problems with the cupcake business all season long, Max and Caroline decided to give it more of a go. So this season should focus back more on the girls and their cupcake business, as well as their friends at the diner. I’m so glad it’s back tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “And the Wrecking Ball,” Max and Caroline team up with the diner staff in a frantic attempt to keep their businesses open when the city targets Han’s diner and their cupcake window for destruction. Also, Sophie and Oleg announce that they are trying to have a baby.

See if the gang can keep their businesses open tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Chopped, Life in Pieces, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, & Beat Bobby Flay.
