Oh my word. Last week’s Chicago Fire was a mix of highs and lows — from Casey really stepping up to help an abused wife who ended up setting her house on fire after hitting her husband on the head with a baseball bat and Severide and Kidd finally stepping back over the line of friendship and having sex ON THE BAR (a bit unsanitary, no?)…to Crus hurting for money after he spent so much on getting the Slamigan up and running and Otis being severely (maybe permanently?!) injured while on a fire call when a guy’s ammunition started exploding and shot at Otis and Kidd. Thankfully she was only hit in her radio. Otis, though, was shot in the neck. He underwent surgery at the hospital, but the last we saw, it seems like maybe it left him with no feeling in his legs. Eek. That doesn’t bode well for his future as a fire fighter, does it?! It was truly an action-packed two-hour episode and was one of my favorites in a while for the series.

In sad news, the actress who played Boden’s assistant Connie, DuShon Monique Brown, died last Friday of a heart attack. She was always fun to watch on the show because she said so little but had a big impact on the characters — she could “say” a lot with little to no words. Obviously it’ll be a few episodes before they can do anything about it, but I have no idea how they’ll write her out of the series. Maybe she’ll move away to be closer to family. I can’t see them killing her off. That would be too sad. However they do it, she’ll be missed!

On tonight’s episode, “The One That Matters Most,” Herrmann, along with members of house 51, struggle to come to terms with an injury to one of their own, and then must deal with the new temporary replacement (guest star Damon Dayoub). Boden ponders some interesting news while Kidd has a hard time keeping a secret.

See how the group is dealing with Otis’s injuries tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Station 19, Will & Grace, Beat Bobby Flay, Impractical Jokers, & S.W.A.T.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/13/13

hotincleveland213smallI’m kind of sad because tonight is the winter finale of Hot in Cleveland and the season finale of Happily Divorced. This season has been great for both shows. The ladies in Cleveland have been going through changes in their personal lives, and it’s been fun to watch. And Fran has been dealing with her new fiance being overseas for work while fighting her atrraction to her sexy neighbor. I have a feeling at last the relationships on Happily Divorced will be changing on tonight’s episode, but I guess we’ll see!

happilydivorced213smallOn tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, “What Now, My Love?” Elka tries to impress her boyfriend Pierre’s grandson by helping him with his “Flat Stanley” project. Meanwhile, Victoria questions whether her relationship with Emmett is over now that her movie is done filming. Melanie wonders where her relationship with Alec is going. Joy uncovers something mysterious about Elka during her new internship.

Then on Happily Divorced, “For Better or For Worse,” Fran follows up a startling encounter with her neighbor with an unannounced trip to London to visit her fiancé, Elliot, but she’s the one who’s in for a surprise. Joan Collins, Colin Ferguson, Harry Van Gorkum, and D.W. Moffett guest star.

Don’t miss the fun tonight on TV Land at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guys with Kids, The Neighbors, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, The Americans, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, Chicago Fire, CSI, & Top Chef.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/3/12

Wednesday already! This week is flying by, and I for one cannot believe that it’s already October—before we know it ,we’re going to be decorating for Christmas! Egads! Now, before we all start having a holiday panic, let’s see what’s on television tonight to keep us relaxed on this fabulous fall day. (Side note: TV is a little slow tonight because of the Presidential Debate, so it may be more relaxing than you want.)

Supernatural returns tonight, and I am very excited—after all, what is a week without a visit with the sexy Winchester brothers? This show has been bordering on cancelations for so many seasons, but the faithful fans have kept it afloat, and now we are being paid with delicious dramatic episodes that make us cry, laugh, and gasp all at once. The relationship between Sam and Dean is always full of surprises, but at the heart of it, we are treated to an amazing display of brotherly love.

When we left our demon-hunting heroes, they had battled Dick, had struggles with Castiel, and teamed up with a prophet named Kevin—and we ended with Dean headed to Purgatory. What a tangled web, and I wonder what’s going to become of the boys.

On tonight’s premiere, “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” Sam and Dean are reunited after a year apart. Dean re-emerges from Purgatory, but he isn’t alone. He heads straight for Sam, but the reunion isn’t exactly what he thought it would be. Sam drops everything to join his brother, but leaving the life he had grown to enjoy turns out to be harder than he imagined. Dean and Sam look for Kevin (Osric Chau) who has managed to escape Crowley’s grasp, but things come to a head quickly when Kevin tells them what it is that Crowley wants.

To see how the reunion between the boys goes, tune in to The CW at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Supernatural @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Animal Practice, Guys with Kids, Survivor, and The X Factor.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/13/12

TGIF! I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready to settle down in front of the TV and catch the great episodes on tonight. I didn’t write it up, but if you’re a fan, don’t miss the 2-hour series finale of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition tonight on ABC at 8/7c. The team visits Joplin, Missouri, to help build homes for seven families affected by the horrific tornado. Now, see what else we think you should watch!

Last week’s Chuck was so funny. Casey had some major issues feeling…less than masculine with Gertrude. By the end of the episode, Casey had stood up to her and things looked like they might get better for Casey. Then we had Chuck himself, who was totally clueless about Sarah and the possibility that she might be pregnant. Of course, she isn’t, but I think that will probably change before the series ends. Meanwhile, Jeff and Lester found Castle (the spy office, not the TV show!), so where they will go from here, I don’t know, but I can’t wait to see it tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Chuck versus Bo,” as Chuck and Sarah try to realize a new, safer future, Morgan’s past as the Intersect sends them to Vail on one last mission, where they enlist the help of an unlikely source – the legendary Bo Derek (as herself). Elsewhere, Jeff and Lester continue their own spy mission. Angus MacFadyen (Braveheart) also guest stars.

See the new episode tonight on NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Chuck @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/2/11

Only 23 more sleeps until Christmas!!! 😀 Add to that the fact that it’s Friday, and all is well. We made it through another week, and while it wasn’t a super busy week for television, there was enough to keep us busy. Tonight is no different, with a few great new episodes that you should check out for sure. Let’s see what those shows are.

I am happy that Blue Bloods is back this week. This is one of those shows that I despise missing. Week after week, this show delivers, not only with great acting, but storylines that pull us in deeper each week. Last episode, we saw the family rally around Grandpa after his heart attack and show how much of a family they really are. It was a sweet and touching episode, but at the same tim,e we never fail to be drawn into the crime solving, either. Finally, all this heart and crime fighting is wrapped up into a delicious package of this attractive cast.

On tonight’s episode, “Moonlighting,” an ex-mobster agrees to help Danny find bodies linked to cold cases in exchange for lenience for his son on grand theft auto charges. Meanwhile, Jamie works undercover in a boiler-room operation in order to uncover secrets about the Sanfino crime family.

To see how Jamie’s undercover operation goes, tune in to CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Blue Bloods @ Clicker.
