thefollowing518smallTonight, after three seasons, The Following finally comes to an end with a special 2-hour series finale. Last week, it wasn’t really a good week for Mike. First he was kidnapped by Tom, who was going to trade him to Mark & Daisy in exchange for evidence they had against him. However, Mark & Daisy didn’t honor their deal and killed Tom. They were just about to kill Mark when Theo showed up and took him to use as bait to get his sister back from Ryan.

Things went sour at the meeting, and Theo and Penny made a run for it, but Ryan shot and killed Penny. Afterwards, Theo and Daisy managed to drive away. Meanwhile, Mike and Max were in the parking garage, and Mike told Max he loved her. Mark showed up and stabbed Mike repeatedly in the back before Max could pull out her gun and shot Mark in the head.

Theo is going to be focused on getting revenge on Ryan for the death of his sister. How will this final showdown play out? Did the series creators suspect this would be there final season? Will they kill off Mike, or will he and Max have a future together? Will we get a satisfying conclusion for Ryan Hardy? I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Dead or Alive / The Reckoning,” as the FBI hunt for Theo intensifies and some of their own are attacked, suspicions mount, alliances crumble, and no one appears safe.

Catch the 2-hour series finale tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

thefollowing32smallI’m really excited for tonight’s third season premiere of The Following! When we left off last season, Joe Caroll had finally been caught and arrested (again) after he teamed up with Ryan to save Claire from the evil Luke and Mark. During the cat-and-mouse game with the twins, Mike revealed that he was the one who killed their mother, which sent them into a rage as they both attacked Mike. Max arrived in time to help, killing Luke. However, Mark managed to get away, dragging the body of his brother with him, and was picked up by someone in a car who seemed to know him.

Who is this mysterious driver? Where is Mark hiding out, and will he be coming back to get his revenge on Ryan, Max, and Mike? What kind of crazy cult will Ryan and the gang face next? Will Joe manage to escape yet again, will they let him out to help apprehend some worse killer, or will he actually be put to death? I’m looking forward to another season of creepy, suspenseful goodness!

This summer I was in the press room for the series, where we got to interview the cast/producer of the series. Check out my videos at NoReruns.net.

On tonight’s premiere, “New Blood,” Joe Carroll is on death row and his followers are no more, but a fresh series of brutal killings reopens old wounds for Ryan Hardy and a terrifying new nemesis awaits him and the team.

Learn who the new nemesis is tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Night Shift, Gotham, Chasing Life, and Better Call Saul.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/28/14

I can’t believe we’re almost into May already. Where did April go? It’s been a busy month, but I am looking forward to the warmer temperatures, longer days, and lots of barbeques. While I dream of the summer days to come, let’s see what we’re recommending tonight.

thevoice2013smallI have been loving this season of The Voice so far because the talent has just been amazing and very entertaining. The coaches on this show really are invested in their teams and are as emotional as their singers when they get eliminated. Last week, both Team Usher and Team Shakira lost a member when Dani and T.J. were sent home, even after they gave valiant final performances. I wasn’t too upset with these eliminations because I felt that out of the performers left, they just didn’t deliver at the same level as the others.

On tonight’s episode, “Live Top 10,” the top ten take the stage and lay it all out on the stage yet again to prove that they are worthy of being here.

To see if your favorite performs well enough to earn the votes, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/3/14

Well, we’re starting out the work week with a day off school because of snow…again. I just have to say that next weekend is when we push the clocks forward an hour, and so far, I’m not seeing anything that remotely points to it being spring. Spring forward my behind. To take my mind off the cold and snow, there’s a ton of great TV on tonight, so check out our recommendations. 🙂

castle33smallLast week’s Castle was all about illusions. Three people confessed to shooting a man—and all had the exact details of the crime. I thought Beckett was going to go crazy. The funniest part of the case was them figuring out that the “cult” leader was actually there in the building, rather than in Switzerland. Of course they caught the killer. They caught him shredding paper. In the end, though, the best parts were the three people who’d been set up to confess as they got together and decided to go out together to get breakfast or whatever and the two let the third confess, since he never got to…and also Beckett’s talk with Alexis and Alexis then showing up at Castle’s apartment, asking if she could move back home. Great stuff on the personal front.

Tonight’s episode looks like it’s going to be intense—certainly one of the heavier, more intense episodes for the show. That’s one thing this series does well… Last week was almost a lighter episode, what with three people saying they killed the man and truly believing they had, so this week is much more dramatic and heavy.

On tonight’s episode, “In the Belly of the Beast,” Beckett is recruited to assist on a Narcotics investigation, but a routine mission turns deadly when an undercover operation goes array. To survive, Beckett must engage in a battle of wits against some of the most dangerous men in the New York underworld – including a powerful enemy from her past. Carlos Gomez, Kenny Johnson, Britt Rentschler, Regi Davis, and Daniel Hugh Kelly guest star.

Find out if Beckett can get herself out of danger tonight on ABC at 10:01/9:01c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/10/14

It’s been a great start to the Olympics for both Canada and the United States, with an especially heart-warming moment for Canada when the Dufour-Lapointe Sisters won Gold and Silver in the Women’s Moguls. I know that there are people who aren’t as excited about the Olympics as I am, but it was a great moment, and Hannah Kearney of the USA finished out the medal winners, taking bronze, so we all win. Now, there are still great shows on for those who aren’t glued to their televisions watching the Olympics, so let’s take a look at what else you should be watching.

rachaelvsguysmallIt’s been an interesting season on Rachel vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off, and tonight is the finale. I’ve been impressed by most of the stars, and I was quite pleased that Vanilla Ice went home last week. He really annoyed me to the extreme. Florence is definitely one of my favorites to win, and if not her, I’d like to see Penn win it, because both of them have produced some fabulous dishes. On last week’s episode, Flo’s hot dog looked the yummiest out of all of them and had me thinking of making homemade coleslaw to put on a hotdog to help fulfill my craving.

On tonight’s finale, “Sink or Swim,” the remaining celebrities prepare a meal aboard a cruise ship in order to win $50,000 for their charity.

To see which celebrity wins the money for their charity, tune in to Food Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Almost Human, The Following, Intelligence, Hart of Dixie, Bitten, Lost Girl, Teen Wolf, and Being Human.
