If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/7/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

angelfromhell17smallOne of my favorite pilots that I watched last summer was tonight’s Angel from Hell. Jane Lynch was hysterical in Glee, and I liked her even more in this one. And Maggie Lawson once again flexes her comedic chops and does a great job of it. In this single-camera comedy, Lawson (who was great as Juliet on Psych) plays Allison, a doctor with a great job working with her father, a younger brother, a best friend, and a boyfriend. She meets Amy (Lynch), kind of a loud, oddball woman who claims to be her guardian angel. Only…she’s no one’s idea of a guardian angel, let alone Allison, who isn’t even sure she believes in that sort of thing. Kevin Pollak and Kyle Bornheimer star as Marv and Brad, Allison’s father and brother.

I loved this pilot because it’s funny, but there are some real heart-warming moments, too. Kyle’s seen the second episode and said it was even funnier, so I can’t wait for everyone else to catch up and to watch the next new episode myself!

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Allison, a successful, driven doctor, runs into Amy, a larger than life, eccentric woman who claims to be her “guardian angel,” and whose mission is to help Allison loosen up and see her life from a new perspective

Meet Allison and Amy tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Beat Bobby Flay, Lip Sync Battle, & Top Chef.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/3/12

TGIF, everyone! I am so happy this hectic week is coming to an end, because it’s been one of those weeks all around. That said, tonight is going to be an amazing night of television with so many new episodes of our favorite shows returning. Let’s kick back, watch the new episodes, and get ready to enjoy our weekend. 🙂

Megan’s Choice #1

What could be better than a twisted fairytale to start the night? Nothing. I have been loving Grimm since the beginning, and the last episode was very good. The way we finally saw some repercussions for Monroe with his fellow creatures was intriguing. What’s going to happen now that Monroe has decided he’s going to work with Nick regardless of what the others think? Who knows, but whatever it is, it’s going to be epic.

On tonight’s episode, “Organ Grinder,” Portland’s homeless youth start to go missing. Nick uncovers a deadly black market supplying the Grimm world with human organs for all types of elixirs. As the investigation heightens, Nick and Juliette befriend a pair of homeless siblings, Hanson and Gracie, whose friends have gone missing. Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids) and Hannah Marks (Necessary Roughness) guest star.

To see if Nick can help stop this mess before it gets worse, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/6/12

It’s Friday night, thank goodness. For a short week back (for most of those of us with kids in school or with jobs that had a long break over the holidays), this week seemed to stretch forever. Settle in, give us your remote control, and we’ll guide you the best way we can to your end of the week relaxation!

Megan & Jenny’s Choice #1

Megan: It’s been 4 years, 106 episodes, and now it’s time for Wizards of Waverly Place to come to an end. Selena Gomez isn’t a young teenager anymore, and it’s time for all these actors and actresses to move on to bigger and better things. I’ve enjoyed the journey, even though it’s supposed to be a “kid’s show.” The comedy was well presented, the family dynamics were entertaining, and it was always nothing less than entertaining. It’s been a interesting journey, and it all ends tonight in a fantastic spectacle.

Jenny: Ask my husband or son, and they’ll tell you I’m kind of addicted to some of the shows on Disney and Nickelodeon. iCarly, Good Luck, Charlie, and of course, Wizards of Waverly Place, which I’ve watched faithfully with my son since the beginning. I’m really sad it’s ending tonight, although I think I’m more sad that the last handful of episodes hasn’t been even more about them preparing for their final chance to become the family wizard. This is such a huge thing and it’s kind of been put to the wayside in the last good number of episodes. Still, I think it will be a fun finale, and Josh & I will be glued to the TV!

On tonight’s episode, “Who Will Be the Family Wizard,” Justin, Alex, and Max Russo compete in a sudden and ultimate competition to determine which one of the three siblings will be entitled to keep their wizardly powers, as well as the responsibilities attached to the title of “family wizard.” Bridgit Mendler & Gregg Sulkin return tonight as Justin’s vampire girlfriend Juliet Van Heusen and Alex’s werewolf boyfriend Mason.

See all the cuteness tonight in an hour-long episode on Disney Channel at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Wizards of Waverly Place @ Clicker.
