I’m so excited about tonight! CBS’s latest thriller, Zoo, starts tonight. Based on the book by James Patterson, the show is about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans all over the globe. Jackson Oz — a young renegade American zoologist, played by James Wolk — begins to see a link between the animal attacks and his late father’s dubious theories about looming threats to humans. Kristen Connolly stars as L.A. news reporter Jamie Campbell, while Billy Burke plays Mitch Morgan, off-kilter veterinarian. Finally, Nora Arnezeder stars as Chloe Tousignant, a French investigator who meets Oz in Africa. As the assaults occurring worldwide become more cunning, coordinated, and ferocious, Oz and the others are thrust into the race to unlock the mystery of the pandemic before there’s no place left for people to hide.
On tonight’s episode, “First Blood,” Jackson Oz, an American ex-pat safari guide living in Africa, discovers a link between strange animal attacks on people occurring around the world and his late father’s controversial theories about an impending threat to the human race. Meanwhile, journalist Jamie Campbell and veterinary pathologist Mitch Morgan team up to investigate similar abnormal animal behavior in Los Angeles.
Check out this fun thriller tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing FIFA Women’s World Cup, America’s Got Talent, Chrisley Knows Best, The Little Couple, I Can Do That, Rizzoli & Isles, Stitchers, Junk Food Flip, Chopped, Clipped, Royal Pains, & Scream.

Tonight, MTV brings another popular film franchise to the small screen with its new series Scream. The Scream films poked fun of the horror genre by introducing characters who were well-aware of their stereotypical roles and of the fact that they were living a horror film. However, despite knowing all of the genre’s various tropes, the characters still couldn’t manage to save themselves from the deadly killer.
This new series finds the small town of Lakewood rocked when a self-centered teen is found murdered. As Sheriff Clark Hudson (Jason Wiles, Persons Unknown, Third Watch) and medical examiner Maggie (Tracy Middendorf, The Last Ship) investigate, they soon suspect the case may be connected to a dark chapter in the town’s past. Could this just be the first in a series of murders, and if so, who will the killer’s next victim be? Will it be Maggie’s daughter Emma (Willa Fitzgerald, Royal Pains), her former best friend, artsy loner Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus, Arrow), her nerdy pal Noah (John Karna), or maybe one of the town’s other teenagers?
The series also stars Bella Thorne (Shake It Up! ), Amadeus Serafini, Connor Weil (The Jadagrace Show), Carlson Young (Key and Peele), Bobby Campo (Being Human), Tom Maden (Make It or Break It), and Brianne Tju (Liv and Maddie).
I’ve been a big fan of the original film franchise, and MTV has done such a great job with Teen Wolf, giving us a fun show filled with thrills and chills, so I can’t wait to see what they do with this decidedly scarier source material. I’m hoping the series can maintain that balance of thriller, horror, and self-aware satire.
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” the murder of a high-school student in the small town of Lakewood conjures memories of a similar murder that occurred 20 years earlier in the community.
To see how the new show compares to the movies, tune in to MTV at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/recording Zoo, I Can Do That, Tyrant, Clipped, Chrisley Knows Best, Royal Pains, Teen Wolf, and Another Period.
Teen Wolf had its season 5 premiere last night, and tonight that continues with part two. I can hardly wait. Last night’s episode definitely dropped us into the middle of a strange situation, with Lydia being trapped in Eichen House, and we didn’t know how she got there, but that’s the way with this show. I was really amused by the way Stiles is getting nervous about graduation, because without fail, there’s always one who dreads it out of the bunch. Scott is growing into a strong leader, and I think he’s going to do great things this season. Parrish is proving to be strong, but even he can falter, and if it wasn’t for Lydia appearing to him and almost kissing him, he’d be a goner. I’m not sure what Parrish is, and truthfully, I’m not sure when we’ll find out, but he was able to go back to Scott’s mom and inform her that the beast has the ability to steal a true alpha’s powers. That’s going to be an intense story arc. Overall, it was a strong and intense premiere that left us with more questions than answers.
On tonight’s episode, “Parasomnia,” Stiles is suspicious of a new classmate; and Lydia helps a student with night terrors.
Check out how Lydia helps save the day on MTV at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching Chopped, Scream, Zoo, America’s Got Talent, and Tyrant.
