"RIZZOLI & ISLES""Hide And Seek" / Ep 613TNTPh: Doug HyunIt’s been over 5 months since we left off with Rizzoli & Isles, and it was a huge cliffhanger. They’d been chasing a bad guy who’d been leaving clues for Jane, which she thought led to her mother, but in the end, it was all a distraction to keep her from Maura, who was called to a fake crime scene…only to be kidnapped in the final seconds of the episode. I loved seeing the team rally around Jane to keep her safe. And I kind of loved Boris the bodyguard, played by Damon Dayoub (Det. Fisher from Stitchers), but I don’t think he’ll be back, at least not long-term.

The series will finish out this season and then have a shortened final season to end its run. Jane needs a man. Really, I want Chris Vance back as Casey, but I haven’t heard anything about her romantic life. So I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Tonight, there are two episodes back-to-back to welcome the show back to the TV schedule, so yay for that!

On tonight’s first episode, “Hide and Seek,” when Maura is abducted, nothing will stand in the way of Jane and the team bringing her home. Far away, Maura discovers a conspiracy that is bigger than just her kidnapping, with Jane as its ultimate target. Then on the second episode, “Murderjuana,” a security guard foils a robbery when he kills one of the robbers, despite being wounded himself. Jane and Maura work together to solve the case after the search for the robber’s accomplice raises some puzzling questions. Jane continues her quest to protect Maura and Angela. But is the price too high?

To see how Jane and the squad rescue Maura, tune in to TNT starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hollywood Game Night, NCIS, Team Ninja Warrior, Grandfathered, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Chicago Med, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, NCIS: NOLA, Chicago Fire, Chopped, Rattled, & The Shannara Chronicles.

bettercallsaul215smallTonight, the second season of Better Call Saul kicks off on AMC. When we left off, Jimmy was at a crossroads. He had tried to find himself a legitimate law career and break away from his previous indiscretions and the con-man ways of the past. He had organized the Sandpiper class-action case and brought it to his brother Chuck’s firm, HHM. However, he was crushed to discover that Chuck was the one who had been blocking him from becoming a partner at HHM – he still didn’t believe that Jimmy could change, despite much evidence to the contrary. Kim told Jimmy that the case was too big for HHM to handle alone, that another firm was being brought in to help, and that this firm was interested in hiring Jimmy in a partner-track position. However, Jimmy had already started to wonder why he even bothered to play by the rules if no one was going to trust him anyway. He could have taken the bribe offered by the Kettlemans and no one would have been the wiser, but he let his morals stop him. And in a conversation with Mike, Jimmy stated that he wasn’t going to let that happen again. Why not just game the system like people seemed to expect him to?!

So will Jimmy accept the position with this other firm, or is he ready to go full “Saul Goodman” right now? How is Jimmy’s relationship with Chuck going to change now that he knows his brother betrayed him? And how is that going to affect his work if he does continue working the Sandpiper case? Is there some hope of a romance between Kim and Jimmy? And what questionable activities will Jimmy and Mike get up to this season?

On tonight’s episode, “Switch,” Jimmy and Kim’s relationship takes a new turn. Meanwhile, Mike decides it’s for the best to sever his affiliation with an unrestrained associate.

Following tonight’s premiere will be a Chris Hardwick-hosted after-show, Talking Saul, similar to Talking Dead. However, it doesn’t appear that this after-show will happen every week.

Don’t miss the season premiere on AMC at 10/9c, followed by the after-show at 11/10c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Castle, Superstore, Telenovela, The X-Files, Lucifer, Major Crimes, and The Magicians.

thewalkingdead214smallTonight, AMC’s The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its sixth season. When we last left off, the fence surrounding Alexandria had been breached and a horde of walkers had been unleashed upon on the town. The group was separated and found themselves trapped in various houses. Deanna discovered that she had been bitten while saving Rick in the initial onslaught. Meanwhile, Ron tried to kill Carl because he thought Carl got Enid killed. Rick had to break down the door to save Carl, which ultimately led to the walkers getting into the house they were hiding in. Elsewhere, Carol finally confronted Morgan about what he was hiding and discovered his Wolf prisoner. Carol attacked Morgan, but he managed to take her down. However, while they were distracted, the Wolf managed to get a hold of Morgan’s staff and knocked him out. He took Denise as his hostage and left the building. Back in the other house, Rick came up with a plan for the group to cover themselves in zombie guts and slowly wade through the sea of walkers outside the house. However, Jessie’s annoying son Sam started calling for his mom just as they were surrounded by the hungry zombies.

Will Sam’s screaming cause the walkers to attack? Who are the people holding Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham at gunpoint? Will Glenn and Maggie finally be reunited? Will the group find a way to take back Alexandria, or is it a lost cause and time to move on to a new location? And will someone please just kill Morgan? His refusal to kill other humans is going to get them all killed!

On tonight’s episode, “No Way Out,” with walkers inside the gates of Alexandria, Rick and the group are scared, outnumbered, and things are only getting worse.

See if/how the group escapes tonight on AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Castle, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Worst Cooks in America, Talking Dead, Vinyl, and Shameless.

hawaiifiveo212smallThe last new episode of Hawaii Five-0 was tense and exciting and sad too. Grover went to Chicago to confront his old partner Clay, who Grover believes killed his wife when they were visiting Grover and his family in Hawaii months before. Grover broke into Clay’s house, knocked him out, tied him up, and then interrogated him, trying to break Clay into giving a confession. Clay held firm to his innocence, even with a smirk on his face. Grover then tried the tactic of catching Clay for something else if he couldn’t catch him for murder. Grover believed that Clay stole money from a big bust when they were partners, and he had the idea that Clay had hidden it somewhere in the house – in the walls, etc. While he was searching, Clay’s mistress-turned-girlfriend came home, and at first Grover was able to get Clay to get her to go away before she noticed anything amiss, but the second time she came home, Grover had to grab her and tie her up too.

In the end, he did indeed find the huge stash of cash, in the panels of the old car Clay had in the garage (the way Grover figured it out, by wondering why Clay had the old car in the garage and his new one outside in the cold, snowy Chicago winter, was pretty smart). Then Grover called the police, basically planning to get Clay AND himself arrested. Meanwhile, Chin and Kono were held at gunpoint and nearly killed when they drove through the backroads and fields to race Steve and Danny, who took the highway. They stumbled across two guy who were digging a place to put a dead cop. Thankfully, Steve and Danny drove out and found them just before the bad guys killed them.

I’m nervous about the whole Grover situation. I can’t see him being let go right away. He didn’t kill anyone (didn’t even really hurt Clay or the girlfriend), but he certainly kidnapped them and caused a lot of damage to the house. But from the description of this week’s episode, there’s NO mention of Grover at all. Surely we’ll find out what happened…right?

On tonight’s episode, “Hoa ‘inea (Misery Loves Company),” as Five-0 investigates a double homicide involving marital infidelity, McGarrett and the team recount their disastrous Valentine’s Day experiences. Chef Masaharu Morimoto guest stars as himself.

Find out what happened with Grover and hear some funny V-Day stories tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Amazing Race, American Diner Revival, Grimm, Second Chance, Blue Bloods, Guy & Hunter’s European Vacation, & Burgers, Brew & ’Que.

the100211smallThere were some pretty big developments on last week’s episode of The 100. The episode started off with Clarke being held captive in Polis, where former love Lexa revealed that she was holding a peace summit with the Skaikru, at which she would return Clarke to her people. She also asked Clarke to get her people to become the 13th clan in her coalition. However, she soon discovered that Lexa didn’t plan on letting her go, and Prince Roan made his own offer to Clarke: he would help her escape if she killed Lexa and joined the Ice Nation. But Clarke ultimately chose to bow down to Lexa at the summit. Meanwhile, news reached Mount Weather that an assassin was planning to kill all of the Arkadia delegates headed to the summit, so Bellamy and Pike took off for Poli to warn/protect them. However, when they arrived, they discovered that the assassins were actually headed for Mount Weather, where they murdered Bellamy’s girlfriend and activated the mountain’s self-destruct sequence. We later learned that Emerson had managed to survive last season’s attack on Mount Weather and had given the Ice Nation queen the self-destruct codes in retaliation.

How will Bellamy and the others retaliate for the loss of their people? Will Clarke really stay in Polis to serve as the Skaikru’s ambassador, or will she rejoin her people? And what did Lexa’s late-night bow of fealty toward Clarke mean?

On tonight’s episode, “Watch the Thrones,” Clarke discovers the mastermind behind a devious plan. Meanwhile, Kane struggles to keep the peace; and Jasper’s grief drives him to behave recklessly.

To see what Clarke does with her discovery, tune in to The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Grey’s Anatomy, You, Me and the Apocalypse, The Blacklist, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Top Chef, Recipe for Deception, Workaholics, and Idiotsitter.
