I’m glad to be home!)

brooklyn9953smallLast week’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine was a lot of fun. Jake injured himself by falling as he ran across the top of cars (How in the world he injured himself as much as he did, I have no idea… LOL), and Terry tried to force him to take some time off since the doctor didn’t actually clear him, but Jake was determined to catch the bad guy, even to the detriment of his health. In the end, they did catch him and Jake was able to recover. Meanwhile, Holt and Rosa were forced to spend an evening with their significant others — although Rosa cut it short when she admitted to Holt that she was late and thought she might be pregnant. Talk about sharing personal information! Unfortunately, that shortened dinner meant Amy and Gina missed it completely after showing up late (as Amy tried to prove how “chill” she was).

I love this show. The chemistry between the characters is as great now as it’s been since the beginning, and I love them all. I’m hoping we’ll get some movement on the relationship between Jake & Amy as the season comes to a close in the next few weeks, but I guess we’ll see…

On tonight’s episode, “Det. Dave Majors,” Jake is excited to work a case with the best detective in the NYPD, Detective Majors (guest star Garret Dillahunt, Raising Hope), until Majors shares his intentions to ask Amy out on a date. Meanwhile, Charles and Gina try to convince Terry to stay at the Nine-Nine when he considers accepting an offer to work at a private security firm.

See how Jake reacts to Det. Majors’ interest in Amy tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Spring Baking Championship, Battle Creek, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

theamericans422smallTonight, another season of The Americans comes to a close. Last week was another amazing episode. Philip was about to visit Martha when he got word that it wasn’t safe — and it turned out that Stan was there, on his own rogue mission to learn the truth about the bugged pen in the office. After Beeman left, Martha called her parents in tears and arranged to visit them. When “Clark” showed up at the house, Martha was packing, saying that she was tired of the lies and had to leave. Philip then pulled off his wig, revealing his true self as Martha looked on in horror. Meanwhile, Paige was once again acting out and questioning everything about her parents, so Elizabeth asked Paige if she wanted to join her to visit her dying mother in Russia.

That was a close call with Beeman in Martha’s apartment — he could have seen the wedding photo, or Philip could have walked in. Is this the end for Martha? Why would Philip reveal himself unless he is going to kill her? And did she already have a sense this was coming? Her phone call to her parents felt very much like a goodbye. And what about Paige — will she take her mother up on the offer to meet her grandmother? Is this the first step in Paige joining the family business? And will Stan come any closer to learning the truth about the Jennings family?! This has been such a great season, and I can’t wait to see how it comes to an end tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “March 8, 1983,” Stan’s plan to save Nina has unpredictable consequences; Elizabeth and Paige go on a trip; and Philip finds an unlikely ally after an emotionally charged mission.

See how the season ends tonight on FX at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Survivor, Criminal Minds, The Middle, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Arrow, Supernatural, Young & Hungry, Broadchurch, and Big Time in Hollywood, FL.

freshofftheboatsmallTonight is the first season finale of the hilarious ABC comedy Fresh Off the Boat. Last week, Louis and Jessica reluctantly “volunteered” at the kids’ schools. When Eddie heard that his father had played professional basketball back in Taiwan, he was excited to have him coaching his team. However, he was disappointed that his father was concentrating on basic drills instead of teaching them to fly through the air Crouching Tiger-style. Meanwhile, Jessica was also disappointing Emery and Evan through her volunteer role of producing the school play. She threw out the school’s fun, lively play in exchange for her own darker, more serious, “Acting: A Cautionary Tale (Mr Gumdrop Goes To Lazywood)” — she wanted to teach the children that acting was not a worthwhile profession.

This show is always so much fun and the highlight of my Tuesday-night TV viewing! Constance Wu is a riot and deserves an Emmy for her performance as Jessica! I hope tonight is not the last we see of this series, because I really want to see more of the Huang family’s misadventures in the ’90s!

On tonight’s episode, “So Chineez,” Jessica fears that the family has lost its Chinese identity, so she strives for them to reconnect with their culture. To that end, she insists that Louis decline an invitation to join the country club and makes Eddie do a report on China for his World Day project.

Check out the funny tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Forever, Undateable, One Big Happy, Weird Loners, The Flash, iZombie, Younger, Your Family or Mine, and Finding Carter.

scorpion420smallMy first pick tonight is the season finale of Scorpion. This show’s been such a great surprise for me. I mean, I’d hoped it would be good when I first heard the blurb, but I’ve enjoyed it even more than I’d hoped I would. But last week was killer, when Walter found out that Cabe knew three days before the bombs were dropped what Walter’s software was actually being used for. Walter was so angry that Cabe hadn’t told him. (Cabe’s logic was that Walter would change the software, rendering the bombs useless. When Walter said that’s what he’d have done, Cabe said Walter would’ve gone to prison and he himself would’ve been arrested for treason. It makes sense…) But still, Walter was so angry that he told the director that he wouldn’t work with Cabe anymore, so Cabe was off the team. Then when Paige realized Ralph was behaving so like Walter that he would sneak off from school, make his way to the research site where they were, and then put himself in grave danger to help the team, she told Walter she quit and would be moving to Maine with Drew — and that she didn’t want Ralph to grow up to be like Walter. I could hear shipper hearts breaking everywhere! Walter went a little crazy. He threw out the attitude that he didn’t need Cabe or Paige, and then he took off in the fancy sports car the rich, former Scorpion client gave him…and promptly crashed through a guardrail and went over the edge of a cliff, leaving us with a lot of fears and worries coming into tonight’s finale.

Obviously Walter can’t die, Paige can’t move away, and Cabe can’t be gone for good. The show’s already been renewed for a second season, thank goodness. So the questions remains: How will they recue Walter? Will Walter reconcile with Paige and Cabe after a near-death experience? Will Happy finally forgive Toby and put the poor man out of his misery by throwing him a bone and giving him a kiss? I can’t wait to find out tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Postcards from the Edge,” Scorpion, torn apart and uncertain about their future as a team, must come together for their most important mission yet: to save Walter’s life as his car teeters on the side of a cliff.

See how the team saves Walter tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight! [Sidenote from Jenny: Today unbelievably marks the 20-year mark since the Alfred P. Murrah Building bombing in Oklahoma City. I was a senior in high school, living 45 minutes from OKC, when it happened and I remember it clearly. My brother’s good friend lost her mother that day, so it affected us more than some. Please, take a moment today to remember those 168 people–including 19 children–and say a prayer or send a good thought into the universe that something like that never happens again.]

lastmanonearth419smallI have been thoroughly enjoying the awkward squirm-fest that is The Last Man on Earth. Phil Miller is a despicable person, and just when you think he’s reached his lowest, he manages to do something even worse. Last week, Phil was out shopping for Carol. Once again regretting his rash decision to get married, he pleaded with God for a do-over. And God seemingly responded immediately, as a vehicle drove up and two women stepped out (played by Cleopatra Coleman and Mary Steenburgen). Phil decided to keep these new survivors to himself, putting them up in a hotel and telling them he was the only other survivor. Phil even went so far as to tell them a story about his dead wife Carol.

Later that evening, Phil, Gail, and Erica were heading out to do some skinny-dipping when they crossed paths with Carol, Melissa, and Todd — and the jig was up. Phil now found himself universally hated and ignored by the other five survivors. After several more lies to try to explain his actions, he finally came clean about everything, saying it was a mistake to have married Carol so quickly. Carol eventually decided to forgive Phil and grant him a divorce.

Has Phil finally turned a new leaf? How long will this honest Phil last, or will he just go right back to his deceptive ways? Have Gail and Erica forgiven him — and will they pursue him once again now that he is truly a bachelor? This show is so much fun. It’s painfully awkward to watch (in a good way) Phil’s horrible antics backfire miserably. I’m so happy this series has already been renewed for a second season, because there are just 3 episodes left this season, including tonight’s episode.

On tonight’s episode, “Moved To Tampa,” with Phil and Carol’s post-pandemic world slowly expanding as they explore their surroundings, try new things, and grow accustomed to a lifestyle without restrictions or societal boundaries, they head into their uncertain future together.

To see what antics Phil gets up to tonight, tune in to FOX at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Once Upon a Time, American Odyssey, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Veep, Nurse Jackie, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
