agentxsmallI’m always up for trying a new action drama, and for me, TNT can really deliver. So when I read about their latest, Agent X, I couldn’t wait to see it. Jeff Hephner (Interstellar, Chicago Fire) stars as John Case, or Agent X, a top-secret agent who is deployed only by the Vice President. No one besides the VP (played by Sharon Stone) and her chief steward, Malcolm Millar (Gerald McRaney), and Chief Justice Caleb Thorne (James Earl Jones) even know about Agent X. When there’s a major crisis and traditional law enforcement and government can’t help, Agent X is deployed to help protect the country by any means necessary. I liked Hephner in Chicago Fire and I LOVE Gerald McRaney, so I’m hoping this will be a good one. There are two episodes tonight, so we’ll get a good chance to see how we like the show.

On tonight’s first episode, “Pilot,” after her inauguration, newly elected Vice President Natalie Maccabee is initiated into a covert world of danger by her chief steward, Malcolm Millar and Chief Justice Caleb Thorne. Natalie quickly finds herself in play when the daughter of FBI Director Stanton is kidnapped, and authorities are helpless in rescuing her.

Then on the second episode, “The Enemy of My Enemy,” one of John’s old nemeses, terrorist Malik Ahmad, steals an arsenal of nuclear warheads and a scientist to activate them. John is forced to work with his enemy, Olga Petrovka, in order to destroy them and rescue the scientist. Meanwhile, Natalie and Malcolm endeavor to protect John’s identity from an FBI investigation.

Check out the exciting drama tonight on TNT at 9/8c & 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Great British Baking Show, Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Holiday Baking Championship, Cutthroat Kitchen, & CSI: Cyber.

hawaiifiveo116smallThere were a lot of fun moments on last week’s Hawaii Five-0. First off… Jerry as a vampire going to the blood bank to donate blood? Hysterical. The fact that armed thieves then broke in to that same blood bank and steal blood? Ahh, vampires… LOL Danny had to get Grace from an unsupervised party…where she was looking awfully grown up! I loved him practicing what he was going to say to her. And I swooned when he walked through the hospital with Charlie – who looked adorable in a cowboy costume – giving out candy instead of getting it. The case started with an awesome chase through the woods. I wouldn’t have guessed it was pretend, not real. It was fun…until they tripped over the gross body. That led to the discovery of multiple bodies, and what that led to turned out out to be horrifying. A man was killing young women and taking specific body parts to create his own perfect woman. It was a modern-day Frankenstein. Chilling.

On tonight’s episode, “Na Kama Hele (Day Trippers),” McGarrett’s first date with Lynn (Sarah Carter) on a deserted island turns deadly when a mob boss hiding there hunts them down in order to keep his location a secret. Also, Chin, Kono, and Grover must race against the game clock to locate the father of a high school football star who will be murdered by a local gambler if his son doesn’t throw the big game.

See if the team can rescue the father and how McGarrett’s date ends up tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Amazing Race, Last Man Standing, MasterChef: Junior, Undateable, Truth Be Told, Grimm, Blue Bloods, & BBQ Blitz.

nathanforyou2015smallI am really enjoying this latest season of Nathan For You. The series continues to deliver lots of laugh-out-loud moments with each crazy new business scheme. Last week, Nathan helped the owner of a moving company cut down his operating costs by utilizing free labor. Nathan’s plan involved starting a new exercise craze called The Movement, getting people to work for free in the name of fitness. Nathan found a fit spokesmodel who was willing to say that he lost 100 pounds just by moving boxes, and then he hired a ghostwriter to pen a 150-page autobiography about him. The book – which you can actually purchase on Amazon – includes some crazy facts about this man’s past, such as the fact that his childhood friend was Steve Jobs and that he mentored a jungle child. But this ludicrous backstory didn’t stop the morning shows and other news programs from believing in The Movement and interviewing its spokesman on air about his dramatic weight loss and unique workout routine!

I love how ridiculous and strange Nathan’s business plans are and how the show is able to blur reality and fiction such that you never quite know what is real and what is scripted. If you have never seen the show before, you should definitely check it out! Earlier this week, I reviewed (and highly recommended) the upcoming Seasons One & Two DVD, which hits store shelves next Tuesday. My review can be found at NoReruns.net.

On tonight’s episode, “Sporting Goods Store; Antique Shop,” an endorsement deal is sought for a sporting-goods store; an antique shop amends a policy regarding accidents.

See what crazy fun Nathan gets up to tonight on Comedy Central at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes Reborn, The Blacklist, The Player, Bones, and Sleepy Hollow.

cutthroatkitchen2015smallOne of my favorite cooking competition shows is Cutthroat Kitchen. The sabotages on this show can be absolutely brutal. For the life of me, I couldn’t tell you which is my favorite, although I think the ones that force the chefs to use weird contraptions to mix, cut, or heat their food…or the ones that switch the basket ingredients for random, sometimes horrible, items…are the worst. And frankly, the chefs who refuse to spend a dime are just asking for trouble. I also love it when a chef sabotages themselves by forgetting one or more ingredients in the pantry. *laugh*

There are two episodes tonight. The first is a special, kind of a behind-the-scenes look at how to survive the sabotages. The second is the first episode in the latest “superstar” tournament, featuring superstar chefs trying to win money for their favorite charities. These are always a blast because these chefs are brilliant and always funny to watch.

On tonight’s first episode, “Secrets of Survival,” the secrets to surviving even the most wicked sabotages are revealed along with tips and tricks to outmaneuver the competition, impress the judges, and become the last chef standing. Then on the second episode, “Superstar Sabotage: Knife, Knife Baby,” chefs Richard Blais, Cat Cora, Melissa d’Arabian, and Aarti Sequeira face off; one chef must make an English breakfast while wearing knight’s armor; two chefs are then strapped toe-to-toe for a tofu challenge.

See if you think you could survive the sabotages tonight on Food Network at 8/7c & 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Hellevator, The Mysteries of Laura, Rosewood, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago PD, Code Black, & Mystery Diners.

freshofftheboat113smallOne show I always look forward to on Tuesdays is ABC’s fun family comedy Fresh Off the Boat. Last week was the annual Halloween episode, and Louis was determined to revitalize Halloween in his neighborhood by repairing its reputation as a dead street and turn it into a prime destination for trick-or-treaters. While Louis dressed up as Mr. T, there was no convincing Jessica to wear the bow-hawk Louis got her to be his Mrs. T – she was too busy trying to protect her flip property from a group of teenage holiday pranksters. Meanwhile, Eddie and his friends plotted their candy and costume strategy. One of the guys wanted the gang to dress as members of the Traveling Wilburys, but Eddie nixed that plan and went as Humpty Hump. The rest of the family also dressed up – Emery and Evan as Hannibal Lector and a silent lamb, and Grandma Huang in a full Garfield costume.

This show is always so much fun with its witty writing, great 90s pop-culture references, and good old family fun. No matter what craziness happens throughout the episode, the Huang family always seems to come together in the end for some heartfelt moment. I always find myself laughing out loud during this show, and I can’t wait to see what the Huangs are up to next! A couple weeks ago, ABC announced that it had picked up Fresh Off the Boat for a full 22-episode season, so we’ve got plenty more fun Huang family adventures to come!

On tonight’s episode, “Good Morning Orlando,” Louis appears on a local morning show to promote Cattleman’s Ranch. In other events, Eddie and his pals try to sort out who their girlfriends are during a group date at the skating rink.

See how Louis’s appearance on TV goes tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Limitless, The Muppets, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, The Flash, and iZombie.
