The Rookie has been one of my favorites since it premiered, so I am super excited about the new spinoff, The Rookie: Feds. Niecy Nash is hilarious, and when she had a guest appearance on the original, she was super entertaining and really made me want to keep watching her. She makes a fantastic FBI agent, and I love the fact that the franchise is branching off to bring us some more comedic crime fighting.

On tonight’s episode, “Day One,” fresh out of the FBI Academy, Simone Clark arrives in Los Angeles and has her sights set on joining Matthew Garza’s newly formed special unit as they investigate the murder of a federal engineer. Garza’s squad includes Carter Hope, a promotion-hungry traditionalist, Laura Stenson, a talented agent in desperate need of a second chance, and Brendon Acres, a former actor who graduated from Quantico with Simone. On the home front, Simone and Cutty’s father-daughter relationship is put to the test as their opposing opinions about law enforcement come to a head.

Find out how Simone does in Los Angeles tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching FBI, The Voice, The Resident, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, and New Amsterdam.

The Rookie had a great season last year with a lot fantastic character growth. Nolan really came into his own as a police officer and is well on his way to a good career. My favorite storyline are the ones with Bradford and Chen. Those two need to be an actual couple sooner than later! I love their chemistry and think they are one of the police couples who could make it long-term. Regardless of which path the story takes, I know that I will be tuned in every week.

On tonight’s episode “Double Down,” Officer John Nolan’s is once again face-to-face with serial killer Rosalind, and she wants him to know she’s not done with him yet. Meanwhile, officers Bradford and Chen work undercover with Detective Lopez and the Las Vegas Police Department to arrest leaders of a major criminal enterprise.

To see how John handles his newest run in with Rosalind, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

It has been a great week so far getting back to the normal seasons of all our favorite shows, but it’s also been a joy to be back to suggesting shows we think you should be watching. Today is my last day for the week because so far, nothing has returned on Fridays that’s piqued my interest, but I’m sure that will change quickly.

My recommendation today is a group of three shows, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order . This is not only because it’s a crossover event, but also because you should be watching all of this franchise if you aren’t already. I will say that just like other TV franchises, I have a favorite member of the group. For me, it is SVU. I’m aware it deals with the darkest subjects, but I also cannot help but love this cast. I am terribly upset that Rollins is leaving, especially seeing as though she and Carisi have been on a great track with their relationship. Personally, if she’s going to leave, I think it should be a reason that’s sweet, such as she’s having Carisi’s baby and wants to get out of the crime-fighting life. I just feel like those two deserve their happy ending. You all know I am a sucker for the relationships on these procedurals. It’s a huge part of why I tune in.

No matter the reason you watch the Law & Order shows, tonight’s 3-part crossover is going to keep you on the edge of your seat.

On tonight’s 3-part crossover, “Gimme Shelter,” a young girl is shot and Cosgrove teams with Det. Jalen Shaw to track down her killer. Benson and Stabler assist and realize it’s more than a typical homicide. McCoy and Price seek justice against an international crime ring, but complications threaten the case.

Tune into NBC starting at 8/7c to go on this crazy ride with all of your favorite crime-fighting Law & Order teams.

I’ll also be watching Celebrity Family Feud.

I’m so excited to have #OneChicago back tonight! Last season ended for all three shows on a tense note, but especially exciting and dangerous were Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, so those are my two picks tonight.

On Chicago Med, after a disagreement about a patient, Will & Hannah decided to start over, and knowing she was looking for an apartment, he offered to let her rent one in his new building. Little did they know that the building would be on fire only hours later. Which leads us to Dylan and undercover cop Jo. She knew her cover had been blown, so she was preparing to leave town, and when she gave Dylan the evidence she collected to give his father because she thinks there’s a dirty cop involved in her investigation, we learned she’d been staying in Will’s apartment building. That’s when Will interrupted them to tell them the building was on fire. Unfortunately, one of the bad guys from her case appeared, and after a struggle with his gun, Dylan ended up shooting him. Jo was hurt, and Dylan told her to run, but before he and Will could get the man Dylan shot out of the building to safety, they were trapped by the fire. The rest of the Med gang had big stories too. Crockett was given Pamela’s power of attorney, and when there was a complication during her surgery, he made the call he thought was right, against Pamela’s daughter’s wishes and what she thought her mother would want, and she had a stroke during the surgery. When she woke up, she was very, very angry and upset about Crockett’s decision. Also, Dr. Charles realized that dating his (former) therapist was a bad idea and broke up with her, Maggie finally set up a meeting between Vanessa and her birth father, Goodwin ended up delivering her grandbaby when her daughter went into labor during their lunch and there was no way to get her to the hospital, and Ethan and Dean attended a ceremony honoring his late-father’s military service. Ethan gave the flag he received to his father’s partner, and Dean got all up in his feels and decided to reach out to his own kid.

Then on the Chicago Fire finale, we got rid of that horrid witch Emma after she abandoned Violet on a dangerous call and was fired by Hawkins fired her. Later, Kidd & Severide FINALLY tied the knot, and it was absolutely lovely, between having to find a new venue (and the riverboat turned out to be perfect!) and having all their friends and (most of) their family there. We even got to see a sweet message from Severide’s mom, who was unable to make it, but not through any fault of hers. Unfortunately, Brett and Casey, who were super adorable, clearly weren’t as happy, each knowing that the relationship they currently had couldn’t be expected to last much longer, being so far apart and only seeing each other occasionally. I don’t know when they’ll officially pull the plug, but Brett’s not going anywhere and Casey isn’t coming back, so it’s likely happening sometime soon. Once the reception was over, Kidd & Severide went to his cabin for their honeymoon, but we saw a truck pull up outside, and every indication was that it was tied to the guys who Severide was up against. Eek!

So yes, both series had strong finales with huge cliff hangers, and I can’t wait to see how they play out tonight!

On tonight’s episode of Chicago Med, “How Do You Begin to Count the Losses,” i n the aftermath of Will’s apartment fire, Crockett, Ethan and Archer work together to try and save the survivors. Charles and Med’s new fellow, Nellie, helps a paranoid patient. Dylan makes a life-changing decision.

Then on Chicago Fire, “Hold On Tight,” Kidd and Severide’s honeymoon is interrupted by a dangerous person from their past. Kidd’s former academy classmate joins Firehouse 51. Brett and Violet reflect on their relationships.

See how the story lines are resolved tonight on NBC starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Conners, The Goldbergs, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night, & No-Recipe Road Trip with The Try Guys.

One thing that hasn’t changed and likely never will is my love of procedurals—I can’t help it. I just can’t get enough. I am aware that most of them are very similar, but for me it’s the cast that makes me fall in love with each particular show.

Speaking of casts I love, FBI returns tonight for its fifth season. I enjoy the case-of-the-week style this show presents, but I also truly enjoy the stories surrounding the characters themselves. Maggie and OA are always a great duo to watch, and I look forward to Maggie’s return this season. I am also looking forward to seeing more growth with Jubal and his family—I am expecting to see his son get into some trouble this season and see how it affects Jubal. Overall, this show never disappoints and keeps us guessing as to who the unsub is every episode. If you’re looking for a show that you can watch one episode of and not get lost, then this is the show for you—but be warned, you’ll get hooked just like I did.

On tonight’s season premiere, “Hero’s Journey,” the team pivots when their sting operation to secure a massive bomb from an illegal broker leads them to discover that the device is already in the wrong hands. Also, Jubal’s promise to be present at his son’s birthday party is put to the test as the case continues to heat up.

Find out how the case impacts Jubal’s home life tonight at 8/7c on CBS.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, The Resident, FBI: International, Monarch, FBI: Most Wanted, and New Amsterdam.
