littlebigshotssmallI love Steve Harvey as the host on Family Feud, so I’m hoping as host of the new kids’ competition-reality show Little Big Shots, he’ll be just as great. He’s not only hosting, but he’s a producer, along with Ellen DeGeneres, which I hope bodes well for how fun it’ll be. The show features young kids of all ages with every kind of talent – from musicians, singers, and dancers, to a 4-year-old basketball whiz, a 5-year-old Bruce Lee, and more. As host, Steve Harvey will chat with the kids, which should prove pretty darn funny, as kids always say the silliest things.

On tonight’s episode, “Little Bruce Lee,” we meet a 4-year-old basketball prodigy, a 5-year-old martial arts master, a singing duo, a spelling-bee champion, and a sassy dancer.

Meet this week’s talented kiddos tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Team Ninja Warrior, Grandfathered, The Real O’Neals, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, Rizzoli & Isles, Chopped, Rattled, & Separation Anxiety.

slashersmallTonight, the Chiller network kicks off its first original scripted series Slasher with a special 2-hour premiere. In Halloween of 1988, in the small town of Waterbury, a young man and his pregnant wife were murdered by a hooded killer known as the Executioner. After committing the murders, Tom Winston cut the baby from his victim’s womb and rocked it while waiting for the police to arrive. Now, almost 28 years later, Sarah Bennett (Katie McGrath, Dracula) returns to Waterbury to live in her inherited house where her parents were murdered. Her husband Dylan (Brandon Jay McLaren, Graceland) gets a job at the local paper and is perturbed to discover that his wife is front-page news. However, that’s quickly changes as the Executioner has returned and resumes his deadly rampage, taking out the townsfolk one by one. The only problem is that Tom Winston is still in jail, so who has taken up the killer’s hood and mantle and why? As Sarah starts to uncover the town’s buried secrets, she finds herself consulting an unlikely source for help in trying to figure out what’s going on.

The series also stars Wendy Crewson (Saving Hope), Steve Byers (The Man in the High Castle), Dean McDermott (Ecstasy), Christopher Jacot (Eureka), Erin Karpluk (Being Erica), Rob Stewart (Killjoys), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue), Mark Ghanime (Helix), and Jessica Sipos (Ascension).

The series is very much of the horror genre where there is a serial killer on the loose who is brutally murdering people one by one. There are some very dark, creepy, and tense moments designed to make you jump, and you never know who is truly safe (well, you can probably guess one character who will make it to the end!). We’ve seen some other shows recently in this same vein, like Scream and Scream Queens; however, this series doesn’t have that campy, self-aware like tone of the others. Tonight’s two-hour premiere does a good job of establishing the setting, introducing us to some of the unusual folks who live in this town, and starting to unlock the larger mystery of what’s going on, who the Executioner copycat might be, and how he is choosing his victims.

On tonight’s 2-hour premiere, “An Eye For an Eye / Digging Your Grave With Your Teeth,” a woman finds herself at the center of a series of copycat killings, similar to her parents’ murders, when she returns to the small town where she was born.

To see if you get Chiller in your area, head to ChillerTV.com. If you do, tune in at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Amazing Race, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Second Chance, and Childrens Hospital.

Jenny’s Choice #1

rosewood32smallRosewood has been off our TVs for three months, but it’s back tonight, picking up from where they left off in December – in search of a serial killer. The first victim had been drained of blood and his blood used to write a message on a fortune cookie. Then the second victim was also drained of blood, but his heart had been removed from his body without an incision. After that, the PD computers were hacked into and a clue left for the police, which led them to a museum where victim #3’s brain had been left as an art installation. The clues led them to a man named Roger, who they first thought was another almost-victim, but then they figured out that his description of the bad guy was a mask they found at his place, so they arrested him as the murderer. At the end of the episode, Villa and Rosie were at the lab, having a moment, when they saw a message the killer had left, saying they had the wrong guy. Oops!

I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s a fun way to wrap up that story line. Villa’s new…boyfriend/fling/whatever, Mike, is back, as is Rosie’s (ex-)girlfriend/Villa’s therapist Kat. Plus, we get to meet TMI’s family. Fun stuff!

On tonight’s episode, “Paralytics and Priorities,” picking up where the series left off after the fall finale, Rosewood and Villa must decipher a trail of clues before the killer claims another victim. Pippy wants to confront TMI’s mother. Hornstock is faced with a decision. And things heat up between Mike and Villa.

See if Rosie and Villa can solve the case before there’s another murder tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

blindspot229smallWe haven’t had a new episode of Blindspot since this time in NOVEMBER! Crazy that it’s been just over three months. So here’s a hopefully quick recap of where we left off. Patterson’s (ex-)boyfriend David was killed after following a woman he saw look at and do something with the book he and Patterson had found in the library. That woman turned out to be a sleeper agent – a Russian spy who’d lived quietly as an American for years until she was called up, who was able to surprise him and kill him, despite the man following David (who turned out to be an agent assigned by Mayfair to keep him safe). There were two other Russian sleeper agents. Ultimately, the team was able to take them down, including the woman who’d killed David. Jane then sneaked out of her safe house and went to Weller’s place, where she proclaimed she wanted a time that was just them, and then they kissed. And all the shippers cheered until his nephew interrupted them. Damn kids! LOL

Then Jane left to walk home, but she was kidnapped…by Carter’s team, we realized when she woke up to find herself tied down in a basement somewhere. He started torturing her by pouring water over her face and asking her who she is and what she knows about Project Daylight. She swore she didn’t know and finally asked him about Orion, which infuriated him even further. He picked up a drill, but before he could harm her further, the guy with the tree tattoo from Jane’s flashback memories swooped in and killed him. Then he showed Jane a video on his phone of her, before the tattoos and the FBI, saying to trust Oscar and that…dun, dun, dun…it was ALL her idea! Meanwhile, Zapata decided she was done playing ball with Carter, and rather than putting the bug in Jane’s place, she decided she would resign from the FBI.

Okay, so a lot of people kind of guessed that Jane had done it to herself. Now we know for certain that she did. What does that mean going forward? Why did she do it? Was she a good guy then too, or was she a bad guy and has she changed now that her memories were wiped? Is Carter really dead, or did he somehow survive three bullets to the chest? Did Zapata already turn in her resignation, or did Carter’s death save her career? And what about Jane & Weller? Did the kiss – or Jane’s new knowledge of her past – change things? I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and we will get answers to some of those things but not all! I have a feeling some of it will play out the rest of the season, if not series!

On tonight’s episode, “Cease Forcing Enemy,” Jane reels from a series of massive revelations about her tattoos and grapples with whether to trust Oscar (guest star Francois Arnaud). Meanwhile, a tattoo leads the team to a shocking discovery in the Black Sea.

See what the team discovers in the Black Sea tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Cake Wars, Lucifer, Major Crimes, Scorpion, NCIS: LA, & Castle.

sleepyhollow226smallSleepy Hollow has come back from hiatus and hit the ground running with a solid story that is continuing at a steady pace while still keeping us entertained with a weekly bad guy to watch our favorite witnesses fight.

On last week’s episode the Kindred returned and brought murder with him, but it would appear he is killing couples out of jealousy of their love. The creepy guy is lonely and looking for love… Wonder if Craigslist has a column for supernatural beings looking for their mate? Probably not, but that’s okay because apparently Ben Franklin anticipated this humanely need and made a bride for the Kindred that was stored centuries ago. Thanks to Ichabod and the team, they managed to bring her to life and stop the Kindred from murdering any more. It was a strange episode, but I will say that I’m enjoying the small moments of bonding that Crane and Abbie had this episode, and I’m hopeful we may finally be moving in a romantic direction for these two.

On tonight’s episode, “Sins of the Father,” when Jenny makes the decision to confront her father, family turmoil from the past rises to the surface. Meanwhile, Atticus Nevins returns to town, bringing more danger than the FBI could have imagined.

Find out how this family reunion goes tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, and The Amazing Race.
