lastmanonearth1113smallThe Last Man on Earth continues to keep things fresh in its third season by constantly shaking things up. Last week, the group was on the move and came across an abandoned five-story self-sustaining office building with electricity, plumbing, and most importantly…frozen pizza. While most of the group was excited with their new location, it seemed like someone was trying to sabotage things to get them to leave. While Phil suspected it was the newest addition to the group, Lewis, Carol eventually came clean that it was her and that she had always pictured her and Phil living in a real house. So, in one of the building’s warehouse-like rooms, Phil built her a small playhouse for the two of them to live in. Meanwhile, Gail dropped out of the love triangle with Todd for Melissa, and Melissa dropped the bomb that she wanted to have Todd’s baby.

How long will the gang stay at this new location? Will Phil ever get along with Lewis? Will Todd take Melissa up on her offer, or is he also ready to bail on that relationship? How much longer does Erica have until her baby arrives? And will the group come across any new survivors? I’m really enjoying this series and always look forward to seeing what cliffhanger the next episode will bring.

On tonight’s episode, “The Open-Ended Nature of Unwitnessed Deaths,” Phil tries to make friends with Lewis by becoming interested in his life story. Meanwhile, Carol needs a favor from Gail; and Todd is concerned about Melissa’s mental health.

See if Phil and Lewis become friends tonight on FOX at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Quantico, Madam Secretary, The Simpsons, Son of Zorn, Family Guy, The Walking Dead, Good Behavior, Eyewitness, and Westworld.

macgyver1111smallLast week on MacGyver, Mac had to go undercover in prison to help break out a Mexican drug kingpin in order to track the guy back to his cartel’s secret location so they could shut his organization down. Unfortunately things were a lot tougher than they anticipated. While Jack was undercover as a guard and was able to get Mac some of the things he needed, Riley was unable to connect up to the prison’s system because they’d recently done an update that blocked her way in. So Mac was pretty much on his own and had to get creative real quick. He was able to break himself and the drug guy out, but the drug guy then figured out Mac wasn’t on the up-and-up (or is that the down-and-down? LOL) and started to torture his identity out of him, but Mac started to fight back and then Jack and the good guys burst in right in time.

I had two favorite parts to this episode. We got to see Riley be vulnerable, remembering her time in prison and worrying about Mac. That was great. And when Mac was trapped in the bad guy’s trunk, he started flashing Morse code using the tail lights, hoping someone would pick up Jack’s name and phone number and call him and Jack would get the message that Mac was in trouble. That was pretty awesome!

On tonight’s episode, “Corkscrew,” when MacGyver comes face to face with Murdoc, an international assassin hired to kill him, Mac must defend both himself and Bozer, armed with only a corkscrew and paper towel rolls. Also, Bozer feels completely betrayed when he finally learns Mac’s true identity. David Dastmalchian guest stars.

See how Bozer deals with the truth about Mac tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

superstore1110smallLast week on Superstore, it was election day, and Cloud 9 served as a polling station. Dina and Glenn accidentally destroyed a bunch of the ballots and then bickered a lot while trying to figure out a way to cover it up. Meanwhile, Amy and Jonah were having fun creating an alternative election pamphlet, but this came to an abrupt end when Jonah’s new girlfriend Namoi showed up – Amy seemed a bit jealous when she learned Jonah had a girlfriend. And Mateo realized he was an illegal alien and desperately tried to get a hold of an “I Voted” sticker in order to stop people from questioning him as to why he hadn’t voted yet.

Tonight we get a double dose of episodes for the fall finale. This show is a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see how Cloud 9 deals with Black Friday! While I really like Amy and Jonah together, it seems odd that the writers are still pursuing this will-they-wont-they storyline. They sort of wrote themselves into a corner by making her married with a child – who wants to root for a homewrecker in a comedy?!

On tonight’s first episode, “Seasonal Help,” unruly seasonal employees are hired to help over the holidays. Among them is Amy’s husband, a development that exposes her in unexpected ways. Also, the temps frustrate Jonah and Garrett, and Glenn seeks the perfect person to play the store’s Santa.

Then, in “Black Friday,” the staffers all fall ill with food poisoning on the busiest shopping day of the year, yet a frantic Amy suspects her nausea is morning sickness. Also: Glenn’s demeanor changes following a pharmacy trip; and Mateo and Cheyenne embark on a side business.

Catch the double episodes tonight on NBC at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The Great Indoors, Life in Pieces, The Blacklist, Pitch, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and 60 Days In.

"Younger" (Airs 11/9 at 10pm ET/PT)Last week on Younger, Charles decided he’d had enough of Bryce’s drastic changes and told him he no longer wanted him to invest in the company. This meant that they had to quickly find some new authors or Empirical would really be in danger of shutting down. Redmond brought Liza and Kelsey a manuscript for an erotica novel from a first-time author who they loved, but its female author wanted to remain anonymous. Liza and Kelsey didn’t like the idea of not knowing who the author was, so they decided to pass. However, after some investigating, they realized that their young fresh “female” erotica voice belonged to Empirical’s cash cow Edward L.L. Moore, who was writing under a pseudonym. After hearing about this, Charles told Liza to offer Moore whatever he wanted because the company couldn’t afford to lose its biggest author to another publishing company. So now, in addition to keeping up her own lie, Liza has to keep the public from finding out that the new young woman writing about the female experience is actually an obese 68-year-old man who drives around on a scooter.

I’m still really enjoying this series, but I really wish that Liza would tell someone at work the truth about her age. If she told Charles, he’d probably be more apt to try to rekindle a romance – you can tell he still has feeling for Liza, and knowing the truth would help him understand why she has been so distant. And Kelsey might feel a bit betrayed at first, but she would probably get over that quickly and it would be back to the status quo.

On tonight’s episode, “Ladies Who Lust,” a women’s erotica event threatens to expose the author’s secret while Liza and Kelsey try to preserve it.

See if Liza and Kelsey can keep the author’s secret tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Speechless, Modern Family, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Empire, Arrow, Frequency, Worst Cooks in America, You’re the Worst, Stan Against Evil, and Impastor.

peopleofearthsmallLast week, TBS kicked off its new comedy People of Earth with a double-episode premiere. Journalist Ozzie Graham wrote an article about an alien abductee support group, but as he interviewed the participants, he started having memories of his own, realizing that he too had been abducted. He quit his job at Glint Enterprises and decided to stick with the group a little longer to learn more, getting a new job at the local Beacon Gazette. While the other participants each only had an encounter with a single species of alien, Ozzie seems to have met all three: a Gray, a Reptilian, and an Albino. In his memory, he saw the three aliens joining forces to stage a car accident to cover up his abduction. Ozzie’s former boss Jonathan (who is secretly a Reptilian) volunteers to fix things, but his superiors send another Reptilian, Kurt, to clean up the situation. However, Kurt is accidentally run over by support group leader Gina, who drove off unaware of what she did. Then we saw a local cop covering up the dead alien body.

I’m enjoying this show on many levels. First there’s the humor with the support group. There are a lot of crazy characters, and their interactions, stories and how they try to out-do each other is a lot of fun. Second, the bickering aliens are hilarious, especially Jeff the Grey. And finally, I’m really interested in the ongoing mystery of what these aliens want, who knows about them, and if there are any other people who are secretly aliens. I’m really digging the creative new direction TBS has taken with its comedies over the last year. This is another highly entertaining one!

On tonight’s episode, “Acceptance,” Ozzie helps Richard face his broken marriage; Yvonne and Gerry investigate a mysterious cover up; Jonathan Walsh delivers some upsetting news to Jeff and Don.

Laugh along with these new alien abductees tonight on TBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, and Jane the Virgin.
