brooklyn991018smallEvery season on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we get a new Halloween episode. They’re a lot of fun because it’s always some sort of competition. In season one, Jake bet Holt he could “steal” his Medal of Valor. In season two, it was Captain Holt’s watch. Last year, it was team vs team, as they competed to see who could first get to a crown held under lock and key in an interrogation room. So what will they come up with this season? I have no idea, but I do know it’s going to be funny!

On tonight’s episode, “Halloween IV,” it’s Halloween in the Nine-Nine, which can only mean one thing: heist time. This year, the squad members pull out all the stops in their quest to win the new defending title of “Ultimate Detective Slash Genius.” Lines are drawn and plans are made, but there can only be one reigning champion.

See who wins bragging rights tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

tbbt1017smallLast week on The Big Bang Theory, Amy’s apartment flooded, and Penny suggested she and Leonard stay in her apartment while Amy moves into Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment with Sheldon. It took some convincing – where Leonard told him he could count it as a scientific experiment – but Sheldon finally agreed, although he decided that, to be in neutral territory, he and Amy would stay in Penny’s apartment instead. After words of wisdom from their friends and a proposal from Amy that all sex stays off the table (much to Sheldon’s relief), they (temporarily) moved in together. Of course, it wasn’t that easy. Sheldon had to put up with Amy coughing up phlegm in the bathroom while brushing her teeth, and in no surprise, Sheldon was kind of a bear to live with… He snores – bad – and ended up sleep-pushing Amy off the bed. The next day, Sheldon said he’d slept like a baby, while Amy was ready to quit, but they traded barbs and burns back and forth, which actually turned them on. So silly!

And can we talk about how weird Raj is? LOL He went with Howard and Bernie to her OB-GYN appointment, which was strange enough, but then he made a comment about how perfect Bernie’s cervix is, which took it over-the-top weird. Annnnnnd he’s the only one of the three who knows the sex of the baby because his father’s a gynecologist and he saw the sex on the ultrasound. LMAO

On tonight’s episode, “The Hot Tub Contamination,” Leonard and Penny must separate a quarreling Sheldon and Amy when their cohabitation does not go as planned, and Sheldon threatens to break off their relationship when Amy refuses to adhere to the bathroom schedule. Also, Howard and Bernadette find unexpected guests at their house when they decide to stay home from a planned vacation.

Find out who the unexpected guests are tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Cake Wars, Kevin Can Wait, 2 Broke Girls, Halloween Baking Championship, Scorpion, & Conviction.

David E. Kelley has written and created many legal shows for the broadcast networks over the decades (Harry’s Law, Boston Legal, The Practice, Ally McBeal, and L.A. Law). And even my favorite show of his, Picket Fences, had a large legal component. Now the prolific television producer is heading into the no-limits realm of streaming with his latest legal drama Goliath. The series follows disgraced lawyer turned ambulance chaser Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton, Fargo), who finds himself with the unique opportunity to both redeem himself and get revenge on the firm that fired him when one of its biggest clients becomes the target of a wrongful death suit. Billy assembles a ragtag team to research the case, but they quickly uncover a much larger, deadly conspiracy. The amazing cast also includes William Hurt (Humans), Maria Bello (Touch, Prime Suspect), Olivia Thirlby (Good Vibes), Molly Parker (House of Cards), Tania Raymonde (Switched at Birth, Lost), Sarah Wynter (American Odyssey), Damon Gupton (Bates Motel, Prime Suspect), Dwight Yoakam (Under the Dome), and Harold Perrineau (Lost).

I have been a big fan of David E. Kelley’s work over the years. His shows always provide interesting, quirky characters, smart dialogue, and thought-provoking drama with a dash of humor. The entire 8-episode season of Goliah is available to Amazon Prime subscribers today, but the first episode is also available to anyone with an Amazon account. I’m looking forward to checking out this new series.

Catch all 8 episodes now on Amazon!

I’ll also be watching/recording MacGyver, The Exorcist, Wolf Creek, Z Nation, Van Helsing, and Quarry.

legendsoftomorrow1013smallTonight, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns for its second season on The CW. As the first season came to a close, the group finally managed to put an end to Vandal Savage’s evil plan to conquer the world by killing him simultaneously in three different time periods – Mick and Ray took him out in 1958; Sara, Jax, and Professor Stein in 1975; and Carter, Hunter, and Kendra in 2021. However, even with Savage gone, there was still an explosive meteor to contend with, and so Hunter used the Waverider to fly the meteor into the sun but miraculously managed to survive himself. As the team reconvened in 2016, Kendra and Carter decided to head off on their own to give their relationship a go. But soon after they left, a second Waverider crashed down in front of the team, and out stepped Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams), who warned the group that they will die if they get back on board.

Who is this mystery man, how did he get a Waverider, and how does he know the future? Will the group heed his warning or just head off again on another mission? I’m looking forward to seeing what time-traveling adventures await the group this season, though I hope the writers don’t try to stretch out a single story over the entire season like last year. I would love to see several different arcs and villains over the course of this second season.

On tonight’s premiere, “Out of Time,” Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional historian, makes a shocking discovery. Nate then seeks out Oliver Queen for help to find the scattered Legends. Once reunited, they try to protect Albert Einstein from being kidnapped before the Nazis destroy New York City with a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile, Ray notices that Sara has a mission of her own, which leads them both to face her nemesis, Damien Darhk.

Check out the season premiere tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, Superstore, The Good Place, The Blacklist, Pitch, 60 Days In, and Falling Water.

blindspot1012smallLast week on Blindspot, the team followed a tattoo to a corrupt Homeland Security employee who has been building video games that turn out to be plans for thieves on how to execute perfect robberies. In the end, the team unraveled the clues like they always do, reunited a mother (a CIA agent) with her daughter, who she thought was dead, but then the woman went to prison for murder and the daughter got sent to live with other family. It all tied in to Jane’s story, as well as Reade’s. Reade is still dealing with the fact that Freddie insinuated that Reade himself was also a victim of their coach, who’d sexually abused boys under his care. And Jane learned that the (supposed) reason Sandstorm is doing what they’re doing is that Shepherd’s family (parents and brother) all died as a result of the contamination of a lake they always went to. You could tell the story affected Jane, but I hope it doesn’t make her waver on whose side she’s on!

No one knows about Weller’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnancy yet, but that is going to have to come up this week, as Allie is back this week, working with the team to catch the bad guys. Eek!

On tonight’s episode, “Condone Untidiest Thefts,” after a prominent politician is almost killed during a rally, Weller and the team must work with U.S. Marshal Allie Knight (guest star Trieste Kelly Dunn) to take down a mob leader.

See if Allie can stay safe tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Lethal Weapon, Speechless, Criminal Minds, Frequency, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Property Brothers, Worst Cooks in America, black-ish, Chicago PD, Cutthroat Kitchen, & That Awkward Game Show.
