sirens127smallTonight, the USA Network comedy series Sirens is back for the start of its second season. The series follows the exploits and misadventures of three Chicago EMTs on the job and in their personal lives. When we last left off, Johnny’s girlfriend Theresa had decided to take a job with the FBI in Washington, which made Johnny realize how much he would miss her, so he proposed. The two attempted to get married, but everything that could have gone wrong did — there was bickering in-laws, an illegal cock-fighting ring in the church basement, a priest who couldn’t stop quoting Kevin Costner, and Hank fooling around with the priest’s son! In the end, Johnny and Theresa decided not to go through with the wedding and instead took the smaller step of moving in with one another.

Will Johnny and Theresa’s relationship last this time around? And how will their new status affect the dynamic of the group? This show is always a lot of fun, and I especially enjoy the scenes when the guys are giving each other a hard time. I’m looking forward to another season of raucous, politically-incorrect fun and humor.

On tonight’s first episode, “Superdick,” Johnny finds a perfect apartment to share with Theresa thanks to a landlord with a nut allergy. In other events, Brian struggles with his platonic love affair with Voodoo; Billy begins dating Theresa’s sister; and Hank wonders if he’ll ever find love. And then in “Johnny Nightingale,” Johnny deals with an overly grateful patient; and Brian agrees to take an injured young woman to her prom.

Enjoy the start of the new season tonight on USA Network at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording CSI, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Parks and Recreation, Marry Me, About a Boy, MasterChef: Junior, The Flash, Supernatural, Switched at Birth, Justified, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Cougar Town, Face Off, Sons of Liberty, and Kroll Show.

ellensdesignchallengesmallIt’s no surprise that I love design shows. I also love Ellen DeGeneres. So what happens when you combine those two things? Ellen’s Design Challenge, that’s what. In a six-episode series, six competitors will tackle challenges to sketch, design, and build interesting, fun, and functional furniture. A contest will go home each week, until the last competitor standing receives $100,000 and their work is featured in HGTV Magazine.

Ellen is really, really funny, so I hope she brings her sense of humor and fun to the show. I can’t wait to see the designs the contestants come up with.

On tonight’s episode, “Episode 1,” six furniture builders garnered from all over the U.S. gather at a workshop and meet their carpenters for the first time, along with a mystery gift that they must transform into a piece of furniture, and it does not take long for temperatures to rise.

See what the mystery gift is tonight on HGTV at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Tiny House Nation, Best. Ever., & Eye Candy.

galavant125smallTonight, ABC’s hilarious four-week musical comedy event Galavant comes to a close. When we last left off, Galavant and his crew had made their way to the castle but were captured and thrown in the dungeon. Galavant’s big reunion with Madalena didn’t go as he had hoped—he professed his love, but she returned the favor by ordering Gareth to kill Isabella and torture the rest of them. However, Galavant seemed to have finally realized his feelings for Isabella, which gave him to the revived spirit to storm out of the dungeon, declaring he would save the day. Meanwhile, we learned that Richard was actually the second choice for king, as his brother didn’t want the job when they were young children. However, Kingsley has now returned to reclaim his throne.

How will it all end? What is Galavant’s big plan? Will Richard keep his kingdom, or will Madalena move on and marry Kingsley to maintain her lifestyle? Will Galavant save the day and live happily ever after with Isabella? With just 2 episodes and 4 songs left, I’m really excited for tonight’s big conclusion but also sad that tonight’s episode is the (hopefully just “season”) finale!

On tonight’s first episode, “My Cousin Izzy,” Galavant finally gets his chance to be a hero when King Richard challenges his brother to a duel and requires someone to fight for him. Then, in “It’s All in the Executions,” a plot to kill Kingsley is hatched before his duel with Richard.

See who takes (or keeps) the crown and if Galavant gets his woman tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording CSI, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, Downton Abbey, Worst Cooks in America, Sons of Liberty, Togetherness, Looking, Shameless, Episodes, and Mike Tyson Mysteries.

kotn2015smallTonight is the third season premiere of King of the Nerds, which makes me so happy. So many “reality” shows feature beautiful, hip, popular people, but it’s about time that the smart, nerdy, dorky, sometimes cute but often weird people get a chance to shine. Both of the previous seasons, there’s been people I really liked and people I really didn’t, but I’ve been very happy (season 1) and okay (season 2) with who won, so I’m hoping this season will be no exception. Plus, it’s hosted by uber-nerds Curtis Armtstrong & Robert Carradine, so what could be better or funnier?

On tonight’s episode, “Judgment Day,” in the season three premiere, 12 new nerds arrive at Nerdvana to compete for $100,000. The Nerds must create Rube Goldberg-type devices and go deep into the worlds of steampunk and anime. When the first two Nerds face elimination, only Nerdzilla can save them.

Meet the new Nerds tonight on TBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 12 Monkeys, Grimm, & Diners, Drive-ins & Dives.

atoz122smallUnfortunately, the NBC comedy A to Z comes to a close tonight after just 13 episodes. Last week, Andrew got a visit from his father, and Zelda tried everything to win him over, but nothing seemed to work. However, Andrew soon realized that his father was just worried that his relationship with Zelda would leave little time for his father. Meanwhile, Lydia tried to implement a new policy at Wallflower, requiring that all membership cancellations had to be done in person, but this kind of backfired on her. However, her relationship with Dane still seems to be going quite well.

Andrew and Zelda haven’t even moved in with one another yet, and we are already at the series finale of the show! How will it end? Did the writers take the early news of their demise to heart and write a satisfying conclusion to this 13-episode story? Will we get some sort of fast-forward montage? Or will we just be left hanging, wondering what happens to this couple at the end of their 8 months of dating? And what about the rest of the characters? It seems like a lot to fit into one half-hour, but I’m hoping for the best tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “M Is for Meant to Be,” Andrew’s former girlfriend arrives, stirring up tension and causing Zelda to feel threatened. In addition, Zelda mulls over making a big career move. The series finale.

Find out how it ends tonight on NBC at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Elementary, Parenthood, Backstrom, Archer, and Babylon.
