It’s another night of premieres, and I’m thrilled because one of my favorites is back tonight. Last season of NCIS: LA ended on a high note, with Kensi & Deeks able to foster Rosa, Sam & his dad bonding once Sam had him move in with him due to his mental health issues, and a surprise welcome beach party for Rosa, Kensi, & Deeks…where Callen surprised everyone, including Anna, and got down on one knee and proposed to her.

Of course, it’s not all sunshine & roses. Hetty is still missing, but I think she’s coming back sometime this season, so…we’ll see.

On tonight’s premiere, “Game of Drones,” the NCIS team searches for a suspect and their motive following the bombing of a large facility where military combat drones are assembled. Also, Callen and Kilbride get troubling news about a body found in Syria.

Find out if it’s Hetty in Syria tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, , East New York, Family Law, Halloween Wars, SEAL Team, & The Rookie.

NCIS: Hawai’i Season 1 DVD Review

Like SEAL Team, I’m a big fan of the NCIS franchise, and I was pleased when the newest, NCIS: Hawai’i premiered last season. Vanessa Lachey stars as Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent in charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor, who has thrived and risen through the ranks by equal parts confidence and strategy in a system that has pushed back on her every step of the way. Her team is a skilled mix of mainland transplants and includes field agents Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant), Jesse Boone (Noah Mills), and Lucy Tara (Yasmine Al-Bustami), as well as tech specialist Ernie Malik (Jason Antoon). Together, they balance duty to family and country, while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the sun-drenched island paradise itself. FBI Agent Kate Whistler (Tori Anderson) and Jane’s son Alex (Kian Talan) also play prominently throughout the season.

The DVD includes both parts of a special crossover, beginning with “Starting Over” in NCIS and concluding with “T’N’T” in NCIS: Hawai’i, where guest stars Wilmer Valderrama and Katrina Law pay a visit to Hawai’i.

The action-packed DVD includes all 22 episodes, a gag reel (yay!), deleted/extended scenes, and 4 featurettes.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/7/22

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

I’ve been looking forward to the series premiere of Fire Country since I first heard about it. This is inspired by series star Max Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California fire country. Max plays Clay on SEAL Team, and we’ve been assured that Clay isn’t going anywhere, so apparently Max is able to do double duty, or rather triple, since he’s the creator and an executive producer of this new series as well as starring.

He plays Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining an unconventional prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire.

I’m super excited about the premise, and I’m also excited about the cast. Billy Burke (Revolution, Zoo, and The Twilight Saga movies), Diane Farr (Numb3rs, Rescue Me), & Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer, Shark, The Returned, Sleeper Cell, Southland, True Blood), along with Jordan Calloway, Jules Latimer, & Stephanie Arcila.

Don’t miss tonight’s premiere on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Great British Baking Show, S.W.A.T., & Blue Bloods.
