Volunteers Needed!

You guys have been so great about my needing a break. I’ve missed the schedule, oddly enough. LOL But the break has been great. I woke up this morning and thought, I can edit for work, watch TV, read, work on my first diamond painting… I can do whatever I want to do. *sigh* It was a good feeling, know my whole afternoon wasn’t going to be tied up. But I know I’ll be ready to get back to it next week. I just want some help on Saturdays to put together the weekly schedule, which will take a load off my shoulders and still let me work on it and get it out for you guys.

That being said… I’m asking for volunteers. I can handle the daily schedules, especially if I have a couple of people helping put together the weekly. So if you have time on Saturday each week and are interested, fill out the contact form below and let me know your availability. If you’re only available every other Saturday or once a month, just put that in there. My goal is to get enough people that no one feels overwhelmed.

What it will entail: Right now, it’s a pretty low-tech, old-school way of doing it. I have a WordPad file (because I can write up the code needed for WordPress without getting any extra code in there from Microsoft Word, and using a different program to view the code is just too heavy for this simple stuff…) that I just simply copy/paste into. It really is simple and straightforward. You DON’T need to know any coding or even WordPress. As long as you can copy and paste and look things up online, you should be able to do the job easily. <3

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/19/20

Young Sheldon returned for a new season a couple weeks ago, and it is already shaping up to be a great season. On last week’s episode, Missy started her period on the way to a baseball game with George, and it turned out to be a moment that brought them closer together. Watching George have a moment of panic trying to figure out what to do about the situation was hilarious. Speaking of growing closer, Mary and Georgie had a bonding moment when Georgie found out about her guilty pleasure of watching action movies. I really liked getting to see more of these characters. Even if I love Sheldon, sometimes it’s fun to spend time on the other family members.

On tonight’s episode, “Training Wheels and an Unleashed Chicken,” with college in sight, Sheldon is determined to ride his bike without training wheels. Also, Mary and George Sr. argue over parenting styles.

To watch Sheldon try to learn this life skill, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Station 19, Grey’s Anatomy, A Million Little Things, Law & Order: SVU, and B Positive.

It is good to be back! What a strange and messy world we’ve been living in since March, but TV is starting to return, and that means we will be popping in when we can to let you know what we are watching and what you should check out. Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy.

Tonight is the series premiere of Big Sky on ABC, and I am excited for many reasons. First, I have loved watching Ryan Phillippe ever since he starred in the movie Playing by Heart back in 1998. (Yes, I know I’m old.) He was such a sweetheart in that movie, and his eyes won me over. Secondly, a suspense-filled thriller is always welcome on my television viewing list, especially when it seems like it will be an edge-of-your-seat kind of ride.

The show follows Cody Hoyt, a private detective who gets drawn into a mysterious case of missing women after they start to investigate the disappearance of two women, only to discover that there are many more women who have disappeared and nothing is as it seems. Beside Ryan Phillippe, it also stars John Carol Lynch (Body of Proof, Close to Home, K-Ville), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings, Bones), Kylie Bunbury (Pitch, Brave New World), Jade Pettyjohn (Little Fires Everywhere), Brian Geraghty (Chicago PD, Briarpatch, The Fugitive), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Gifted), Dedee Pfeiffer (For Your Love), Jesse James Keitel, & Valerie Mahaffey.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” while on a road trip to visit her boyfriend in Montana, Danielle Sullivan and her sister Grace are kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote part of the highway, setting off a chain of events that leads private detectives Cody Hoyt and Cassie Dewell to team up with Cody’s estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for the sisters. But when the investigators discover these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, it’s clear that they’ve stumbled onto something much bigger than them all.

To see if this new series draws you in to the mystery as much as it has me, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, NCIS, The Voice, NEXT, This Is Us, Chopped, and Transplant.

I’m so happy because one of my favorite new shows (possibly THE favorite) from last season, Bob Hearts Abishola, returns tonight with its season premiere. By the time the finale rolled around, Bob and Abishola were in a good place in their relationship – starting with the fact that they were actually IN a relationship. It took Abishola a little bit to come around to it, but once she did, they began to settle in to being a couple…crazy families and all.

Dottie, Bob’s mother, met a fellow stroke survivor in rehab (played by the ever charming John Ratzenberger), and while I don’t think he’ll be back right away, who knows. He may show up again in the future. The other big story was Christina, Bob’s sister, and Kofo, one of the workers from Nigeria at Bob’s sock company. They had started up a flirtation while working on naming colors of socks, and when Kofo tried to back away, having been convinced that flirting and a relationship with his boss was a bad idea, Christina went kind of “boil a bunny” scary on him. Bob and Douglas (their brother), sent her away to a “spa retreat” type place that was actually a mental health and wellness program on a ranch that she’d been to before. Apparently she’s kind of…well…let’s just say she has some issues. And they feared she wasn’t any better when she told them she’d met Randy, a wrangler.

So how will Bob & Abishola’s relationship be when the show returns tonight? How will Abishola, as a nurse, be handling the pandemic, or is the show going to keep that part of real life out of it? And will Christina be back and over both Kofo and Randy? I can’t wait to find out all that and more tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “On a Dead Guy’s Bench,” Bob enlists Tunde’s help to buy an engagement ring, but his plans to propose to Abishola are upended by her belief that a traditional marriage is more trouble than it’s worth.

Don’t miss the fun premiere tonight on CBS at 8:31/7:31c.

I’ll also be watching Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Holiday Baking Championship, Christmas Cookie Challenge, & Weakest Link.

No Schedules This Week…

Let me start off by saying I love you guys. I love this site, and I love doing the schedules. Usually. But I’ve been doing the weekly and daily schedules pretty much since April of 2007. That’s over 13 years. And the schedules are and have always been done by me alone. In the last few months, I’ve had to force myself more and more to work on them each Saturday, because they take me all afternoon to do. Not to mention then the daily schedules every day. Today I found myself in tears because it was nearly 5:00, and I was only halfway through Sunday on the weekly schedule. I’d found way after way of procrastinating before finally settling in to work on it, and it was already almost dinnertime, and I was just starting. I decided I just couldn’t do it. I desperately need a break. So…I’m taking one. We may still do some Remote posts. Those don’t take nearly as long to do, and I like telling you guys what I/we are really interested in watching. So keep an eye out. But for this week…and probably next week too, there will be no weekly or daily TV schedules on here. If I don’t take a good break now, I’m pretty sure it’ll get to the point soon where I just shut the site down completely, and I really don’t want to do that. I hope you guys understand.

For now, you can see a schedule a variety of places online. You just have to search for TV schedule and you’ll find them. You can also check out Kyle’s site, NoReruns.net, and he has a schedule he puts up.

Like I said, keep an eye out for the Remote posts, and I’ll plan to see you with a new schedule in a few weeks. Love you guys!
