chicagopd1028smallI am loving each and every episode of Chicago PD this season. Last week, Voight and the squad went after the man who’d tried to blow him and his family up and who was going after everyone who’d been on Voight’s team when he illegally got him sent to prison years before. That isn’t to say the guy was innocent, just that Voight lied about something and that’s what ultimately put the guy away. The guy was good… He manipulated things to pit Voight against Olinsky and make Voight doubt Al’s claim that he wasn’t the one who stole the guy’s money. In the end, the theft was an inside job, that man turned on his boss, and our team captured both men. Meanwhile, Al sent off the paternity test, but his wife (ex? I’m never clear about that. LOL) basically gave him an ultimatum.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Al and his daughter (or is she?) and his family. And now that Voight’s basically given Jay his permission, I can’t wait to see things get hotter between him and Erin. And finally, Voight’s problem about lying during the case years ago hasn’t gone away, so will this be the end of Voight? Surely not. Wouldn’t be the same show without him. And you gotta admit he’s really cleaned up his act since the beginning of the show. He still skirts the line, but I don’t consider him a true dirty cop anymore, so that’ll be fun to see how that plays out. Tonight is a 2-hour episode (2 episodes, but most places, including my DVR, show it as a single 2-hour block), and I can’t wait.

On tonight’s episode, “Climbing Into Bed/You Never Know Who’s Who,” after a botched undercover job, Ruzek is under scrutiny by the new Street Deputy Crowley (guest star Barbara Eve Harris), who will determine his future with the unit. A suspicious person call turns into a murder investigation when Burgess and her temporary partner Price (guest star Travis A. Knight) discover the body of a dead man in an SUV. After Mouse identifies the victim as the owner of a security company, the unit soon realizes there might be more to his story. Halstead and Lindsay take a step forward in their relationship.

Find out what happens with Ruzek and between Jay and Erin tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing World Series, Hellevator, The Mysteries of Laura, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, black-ish, Code Black, & Mystery Diners.

muppets1027smallI’m so excited that we finally get a new episode of The Muppets tonight (insert Kermit flail animated GIF here)! In the last episode, Fozzie accidentally shot Statler in the face with the T-shirt cannon, and the old grump decided to teach Fozzie a lesson, giving him a long list of items he needed in order to make his hospital stay more bearable (no pun intended). However, by the time Fozzie had gathered everything and showed up at the hospital, Statler had already taken off – he had over-exaggerated his injuries. Meanwhile, Piggy was desperate to be accepted by her coworkers, so when they invited her to join them for drinks at Roelf’s Tavern, she jumped at the chance. Once everyone was sufficiently liquored up, and with a little prodding by guest Ed Helms, they each took the stage to sing karaoke, and the results were hilarious! We also learned that Sam the Eagle has a crush on Janet.

I am really enjoying this new series. It still brings the humor and fun that we have come to expect from the Muppets over the years, but it now feels even more relatable with the office setting. It’s so easy to connect to the office drama that we all have experienced at one time or another. I mean, who hasn’t worked with that guy who does the hard-sell for his daughter’s Girl Scout cookies?! And seeing these Muppets deal with mundane office politics is so much fun – and makes them feel even more real.

On tonight’s episode, “Walk the Swine,” the feud between Miss Piggy and Reese Witherspoon heats up when they volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Meanwhile, Fozzie and his girlfriend have problems.

Find out what problems Fozzie and his girlfriend have tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’m also watching/recording Limitless, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Wicked City, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, The Flash, iZombie, and Face Off.

bones1022smallLast week’s Bones had some great moments. Booth and Brennan both returned to work, and Booth realized Aubrey had taken over his office. He was temporarily relegated to a desk out in the bullpen, and he wasn’t very happy about it, especially when he was having to clean out trash. In the end, Aubrey surprised him by giving him the office back…but only because he was moving upstairs to an even better office. LOL As for Brennan, she settled right back into things without a problem. The case of the week was kind of a mixed bag of emotions. A man was killed, and then his organs were harvested. It revealed a whole black-market organ-donation-recipient organization. So while they had to take the people down, it meant that a lot of people who would have gotten a needed organ would die before they legally received one. So definitely sad in a way.

I’m greatly looking forward to tonight because the great Betty White guest stars as a fellow forensic anthropologist. I can’t wait!

On tonight’s episode, “The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves,” Brennan enlists the help of a fellow forensic anthropologist in the investigation into the death of a real-estate agent whose remains appear to have been destroyed by coyote-wolf hybrids. FOX NFL game analyst, five-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion Ronde Barber also guest-stars.

See if Brennan feels the need to compete with her colleague tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, Beat Bobby Flay, Late Nite Chef Fight, & The Player.

modernfamily1021smallI am a huge fan of ABC’s Wednesday comedy block, and one of my favorites is still Modern Family. Last week, Cameron was having a bit of a midlife crisis, trying to be “bros” with the frat guys renting the apartment upstairs. Mitch was getting annoyed with his “bromosexual” husband and hatched a plan with Luke to end it. Meanwhile, Phil was obsessed with his duck eggs, building them an insanely detailed habitat while waiting for them to hatch; Claire was failing miserably at coming up with new closet ideas; and Manny was having troubling asking out a barista, until he saw his always-confident mother get tongue-tied in front of her favorite telenovela star, which gave him the push he needed,

This series continues to feel fresh and fun in its seventh season. The writers do a great job of mixing things up each week so that you get entertaining stories involving different pairings of the members of this extended family. The writing is always witty, and the stories always seem to converge in some unexpected but endearing way in the end.

On tonight’s episode, “The Verdict,” Gloria’s picked for jury duty and can’t wait to practice her U.S. citizenship, but Jay isn’t too happy to be helping out at Joe’s preschool by himself. Meanwhile, Claire’s plans for “Bring Your Daughter to Work Day” hit a snag; Phil participates in community service with Luke and Manny’s class; and Mitchell and Cameron can’t agree on a guest list for their party.

Don’t miss Gloria on jury duty tonight on ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, Code Black, The Middle, The Goldbergs, black-ish, Empire, Arrow, Supernatural, American Horror Story: Hotel, The League, You’re the Worst, Worst Cooks in America, and Moonbeam City.

chicagofire1020smallIn the beginning, I wasn’t a huge fan of Chicago Fire, but when Chicago PD came around, I started watching the former because of the crossovers. Now I’m hooked. Last week’s season premiere was full of action and emotions. First Casey was rescued by Antonio, and then he found out Nesbitt would walk on charges because he is an informant. Casey didn’t handle it well at all. Dawson was very worried about him and kept trying to have a conversation with him, but he was so distant and difficult to talk with that she gave up. However, after Dawson had a close call with injury during a fire, Casey went to the bar to tell Dawson that nothing else mattered as long as he had her. Now Dawson finally got to tell Casey the news she’d been keeping. She’s pregnant! Casey and Dawson had such a sweet moment, and I am so happy they are finally back together fully. On a not-so-good note, Severide got demoted because of the high turnover rate on his crew. Patterson got made the lead, and Severide wasn’t pleased. In fact, Severide left us last week with the idea that he isn’t coming back to the house and will go elsewhere rather than work under Patterson. I certainly hope not, because I think the show would suffer from him not being at the same house. I’m looking forward to this week’s episode and seeing how Casey treats Dawson on the job now.

On tonight’s episode, “A Taste of Panama City,” members of the firehouse are frustrated with their inability to help Chief Boden, whose job is on the line pending an internal investigation in the aftermath of a complicated call to a fire. Meanwhile, Lt. Severide struggles to accept his smaller role and adjusts to the presence of Capt. Patterson, his new commanding officer. Dawson shakes things up on the work front, and Casey attempts to find a crucial piece of evidence in his ongoing investigation against Nesbitt. Elsewhere, Herrmann struggles to keep the peace with Molly’s newest neighbors.

To see how the team rallies to help the Chief, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, NCIS, NCIS: NOLA, Limitless, and Chopped.
