chicagopd210smallI love when get crossovers on NBC with the Chicago-based shows, and it’s fun when Law & Order: SVU is included. Tonight, it’s Chicago PD (my favorite of the Chicago series) that the New York City show is paired with. Dallas Roberts is back. He plays the deliciously evil Gregory Yates, who kidnapped and murdered a BUNCH of women, including Nadia on Chicago PD last season. They, along with the detectives from New York, helped catch him, and he was convicted of murder and put in prison. So why is he back? He’s escaped. Eek. It should be a fun ride as they attempt to catch him again in the back-to-back crossover episodes.

On tonight’s Law & Order: SVU episode, “Nationwide Manhunt,” Erin Lindsay and Antonio Dawson join the SVU team in the hunt for two escaped murderers they helped to convict. Dallas Roberts, Jefferson Mays, Sophia Bush, and Jon Seda guest star.

Then on the Chicago PD episode, “The Song of Gregory William Yates,” Intelligence learns that Yates intends to flee New York and is headed for Chicago. The SVU team informs them that Yates has been gathering information on Lindsay, and after Platt calls in a triple homicide likely at the hand of Yates, Benson and Fin catch the next plane to Chicago. Dallas Roberts, Mariska Hargitay, and Ice-T guest star.

Don’t miss either episode of exciting action tonight on NBC starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, The Mysteries of Laura, The Goldbergs, Mike & Molly, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Property Brothers, Hell’s Kitchen, black-ish, Code Black, & Restaurant Startup.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/10/15

babydaddy610smallLast week’s summer premiere of Baby Daddy opened with Riley hiding out in New Jersey at her parents’ house, trying to avoid dealing with the Wheeler brothers. Ben tried to convince Riley they could still be friends and that she should move back to the city, but she told him she was contemplating relocating to Buffalo. Meanwhile, Evelyn, the woman who lived in the apartment across from Ben’s, passed away. Bonnie tried to impress Evelyn’s granddaughter Ashley in order to get the apartment listing and even resorted to pimping out Danny after she discovered Ashley was a fan. The two really hit it off and started dating. Back in Jersey, in a Say Anything-style move, Ben used Emma to convince Riley to come back — and she moved into the newly-vacated apartment.

This half of the season should bring some awkward moments, with Danny dating again and Riley now living right across the hall. Will these two ever get together? Will the show try to pair up Riley and Ben again? Or will we finally see Riley move on from the Wheelers and find a new guy?

On tonight’s episode, “It Takes a Village Idiot,” Emma’s babysitters feel unappreciated, so they go on strike, forcing Ben to bring Emma along on his dates and shifts at work. Meanwhile, Danny and Bonnie enroll in a cooking class with her favorite chef; and Tucker tells Riley to invent a fake boyfriend.

See how it goes with Emma at work and on dates with Ben on ABC Family at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Briefcase, Celebrity Wife Swap, MasterChef, and Melissa & Joey.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/10/14

Guess who’s back? It has been a slow torture in my house with no internet because apparently we had a faulty power cord on our modem that was recalled. Who knew? Thankfully it’s all fixed now and I’m back to ordering you and your remote around, so let’s see what’s on the docket for tonight.

chicagopd1210smallIt’s been far too long since we’ve had a new episode of Chicago PD grace our television screens, but tonight is the night it makes its delicious return. Honestly, I love this show more and more with every new episode and especially after the insanity that we saw last time. When we last saw our favorite badass cops, Antonio was working the private security detail when his employer was murdered. That is quite a huge failure for a bodyguard, but luckily for Antonio, he had his unit to cover his sexy behind. While it was really apparent from the beginning that the victim’s trophy wife set up the murder, what wasn’t expected was how well she did it so that she can’t be implicated because there is literally nothing tying her to the murder at all. The case was a little boring, but the investigation wasn’t, especially when Halstead and Lindsay had to go undercover at a sex club, because those two already have some great chemistry but that place just amped it up to a new level. I hope we get to see some relationship movement for them, because they will make a fabulous couple. My favorite part of the whole episode was how Olinski and Voight cleared Antonio’s name just as he was about to be asked to hand in his badge. They “rewrote history” so that records showed he was working undercover to get Asher the whole time. Antonio was so touched by this and so was I. It really solidified the feeling of family that this unit portrays. Hands down, this show continues to be one of my favorites week after week.

On tonight’s episode, “Called in Dead,” a friend of Nadia’s leads the intelligence unit to a huge heroin bust. Unfortunately this bust results in Olinsky arriving home to find the suspects are holding his wife. Voight and the team think they’ve found a common thread with the suspects, but it’s not who they think. Meanwhile, Burgess and Roman are given an assignment where they get paired with a K-9 officer, Jenn, who is Roman’s former partner and girlfriend.

To see how the team helps save Olinsky’s wife, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, Hell’s Kitchen, black-ish, and Law & Order: SVU.

psych326smallTonight is a sad night for pineapple lovers, as it’s the series finale of Psych. I have to admit that I have the previous few episodes on my DVR. I decided to save them up to watch all in a row after tonight’s episode. So I have no idea what’s happened since Jules left Santa Barbara without saying goodbye to Shawn. But the show has had an amazing run in its eight seasons, and I’m very, very sad to see it end. Hopefully everyone gets their happy endings and we get some awesome “Psych-out” moments in the finale.

On tonight’s episode, “The Break-Up,” Shawn and Gus work with Lassiter, Henry and Woody to solve the murder of a real estate executive; Shawn must make a life decision.

Following tonight’s 67-minute finale, there’s a 1-hour “Psych After Pshow” special, where the cast and show creator Steve Franks answer questions.

See the final episode of a terrific show tonight on USA Network at 9/8c, followed by the after-show special at 10:07/9:07c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, Save My Bakery, Modern Family, Mixology, Hot in Cleveland, & The Soul Man.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/12/14

The cold weather’s done a number on a lot of people. My lips are so dry and cracked, they’re killing me. My friend slipped on icy concrete steps and is now wearing a hard splint—her wrist isn’t broken, but she’ll have to go back and check to see if she tore anything. Poor friend. 🙁 So be careful out there, because the cold weather can be dangerous! Take our recommendations below and stay in to watch TV! 😉

theexes212smallI love The Exes, and this season’s been great. The one thing I’m unhappy about, though, is that Eden and Phil broke up. Maybe they’ll get back together in the future, but the show is fun and funny regardless. Last week, Holly was injured after she fell in the bathtube, and Eden and Haskell were roped into taking care of her—Holly guilted them by reminding Haskell that it was his bath stuff she slipped on and reminding Eden that Holly took care of her when she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she was…not the easiest patient, and Eden and Haskell tried to drug her to get her to sleep. When Holly refused to eat the pudding they’d made her, Haskell accidentally ingested a bite, which put him right out. Holly realized what had happened, and Eden decided to follow Haskell, so she started scarfing the pudding down. It was kind of silly because Haskell went down after one bite, while Eden was still standing after four or five. But whatever. 😉 Meanwhile, Phil slept with one of Nicki’s old friends, and he found out after that she was not long away from taking her vows to become a nun. He freaked out. But it turned out that sleeping with him simply reinforced her decision, rather than changed her mind. I like Leah Remini, but I kinda miss Holly hanging out with the guys. *shrug*

On tonight’s episode, “When Haskell Met Sammy,” Holly accidentally sets Haskell up with a gay man. Stuart helps Phil get over his fear of funerals. Leah Remini, Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives), & Ed Quinn (Eureka) guest star.

See what happens when Haskell meets the…man of his dreams tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Melissa & Joey, Buy This Restaurant, & Men at Work.
