supergirl1128smallTonight, The CW kicks off its epic four-night “Heroes v Aliens” crossover event, beginning with Supergirl. Last week, Mon-El had been abducted by Lillian Luthor, and when Kara tried to save him, she was confronted by the real Hank, who had been turned into a cyborg by CADMUS. In her efforts to save Mon-El, Kara lost her powers. Lillian utilized this opportunity to collect a sample of Kara’s blood and then took off, leaving Kara and Mon-El in their cells to die. However, Jeremiah Danvers made a surprise re-appearance just in time to rescue them. Meanwhile, Guardian was being blamed for evil happenings in the city, and James had to clear his alter-ego’s name; and J’onn discovered that M’gann was really a White Martian (the Green Martians have a longstanding feud with the White Martians) and that the blood she transfused into him will eventually transform him into a White Martian as well.

What does Lillian plan to do with Kara’s blood? How will becoming a White Martian change J’onn, and is it too late to stop the process? I’m really excited for this week’s massive 4-series crossover. These crossovers are the main reason why I’m still watching all of these series. In the past we’ve seen Supergirl interact with Barry, but that was in Earth 3, so I’m curious to see how her world will collide with the other series. I’m also interested in what this “Heroes v Aliens” title means, especially given that Kara is herself an alien. The action starts tonight and then continues the following three nights with The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

On tonight’s Supergirl midseason finale/crossover premiere, “Medusa,” a superhero crossover event begins with Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon from The Flash seeking Kara’s help with an alien invasion; at the same time, Eliza comes to town to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughters, which seems like the perfect opportunity for Alex to come out to her mother. Meanwhile, Winn and James consider telling Kara the truth about the Guardian; and Kara wants to team up with Lena Luthor to combat a deadly virus unleashed by CADMUS.

Check out the start of the crossover event tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Timeless, Gotham, Lucifer, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.

The Librarians Episode 301 "And the Rise of Chaos" 5/6/16 IMG_8411I’m so excited because tonight is the season premiere of The Librarians on TNT. On the last season finale, the group had their hands full battling Prospero, who was wreaking havoc with modern technology because he wanted to create an idyllic forest utopia, no matter the cost. To stop him, Flynn and Baird had to travel back in time to 1611, while the others battled him in the present time. Fortunately, they were able to defeat him, which meant the season ended on a high note. The team is working together well, and at least in the first few episodes, Flynn is still working side by side with them. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the season Noah Wyle is around for!

On tonight’s episode, “And the Rise of Chaos,” when the Egyptian God of Chaos inhabits a human body, he attempts to release Pure Evil into the world, thus beginning the final battle of Good vs. Evil. In order to stop him, the Librarians must decipher a series of clues within a science museum, including a mysterious warning spoken by exhibit mannequins that have come to life.

See if the Librarians can stop Pure Evil from taking over tonight on TNT at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, NCIS: LA, Holiday Baking Championship, & Clash of the Grandmas.

scorpion1114smallLast week’s Scorpion was pretty fun. It was election day, and the FBI showed up and asked for Scorpion’s help…but Walter was forced to stay back (and keep an eye on Ralph) because his immigration status was under suspicion. Needless to say, he didn’t like that one bit. The rest of the team figured out that someone had hacked into and was screwing with the votes. In the end, Walt and Ralph escaped their FBI babysitter and helped the team figure out it was people from the Chinese embassy. With the US election in chaos and no president-elect called because of it, it would benefit the Chinese. Toby was great in this one, from his one-liners to how he took over the TV interview and helped talk down the Chinese.

On a personal note, things were all over the map for them all. It seems like Paige and Tim are getting closer (*gag*), so much so that he’s now introduced both her and Ralph to his parents. Ralph told Paige that her happiness is most important, so it’s fine with him if Tim becomes his stepfather, even though he wants Walter to be it instead. But with the rest of the team throwing relationship stats at her about meeting the parents being a precursor to an engagement, Paige seemed like she was freaking out a little. (Thank goodness. Maybe that relationship will be over soon!) And on a very sad note, Happy had to tell Toby that she wasn’t pregnant after all, that her blood test had been a false positive. She broke down, nearly destroying the awesome mechanical crib she’d built, telling him she was looking forward to waiting for her child after school, unlike when she grew up in the orphanage and had no one waiting for her. Toby promised her that they would have that family. She tried to tell Toby she wanted some alone time, but when he went to walk away, he shocked her by turning and getting down on one knee. Since the President of the United States had been so thankful that he’d gotten Walter’s citizenship approved, Happy was free and clear to say yes to the proposal, knowing she and Walt could get a divorce. So among the sadness was a happiness and relief for them both.

On tonight’s episode, “Sly and the Family Stone,” when Team Scorpion travels to Ireland for Megan’s one-year memorial, Walter discovers that a nearby lake’s natural disaster has created a poisonous cloud that could kill everyone in the village. Also, Cabe and Toby try to alleviate the tension between Tim and Walter.

See how Team Scorpion saves the village tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped, Kevin Can Wait, Man With a Plan, 2 Broke Girls, Cake Wars, & Conviction.

lastmanonearth1113smallThe Last Man on Earth continues to keep things fresh in its third season by constantly shaking things up. Last week, the group was on the move and came across an abandoned five-story self-sustaining office building with electricity, plumbing, and most importantly…frozen pizza. While most of the group was excited with their new location, it seemed like someone was trying to sabotage things to get them to leave. While Phil suspected it was the newest addition to the group, Lewis, Carol eventually came clean that it was her and that she had always pictured her and Phil living in a real house. So, in one of the building’s warehouse-like rooms, Phil built her a small playhouse for the two of them to live in. Meanwhile, Gail dropped out of the love triangle with Todd for Melissa, and Melissa dropped the bomb that she wanted to have Todd’s baby.

How long will the gang stay at this new location? Will Phil ever get along with Lewis? Will Todd take Melissa up on her offer, or is he also ready to bail on that relationship? How much longer does Erica have until her baby arrives? And will the group come across any new survivors? I’m really enjoying this series and always look forward to seeing what cliffhanger the next episode will bring.

On tonight’s episode, “The Open-Ended Nature of Unwitnessed Deaths,” Phil tries to make friends with Lewis by becoming interested in his life story. Meanwhile, Carol needs a favor from Gail; and Todd is concerned about Melissa’s mental health.

See if Phil and Lewis become friends tonight on FOX at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Quantico, Madam Secretary, The Simpsons, Son of Zorn, Family Guy, The Walking Dead, Good Behavior, Eyewitness, and Westworld.

timeless1031smallI’ve been really enjoying NBC’s fun time-travel series, Timeless. Last week the gang headed to Nazi Germany, where they had to stop Flynn from giving Wernher von Braun, the Father of Rocket Science, to the Soviets. Along the way the team ran into James Bond author Ian Fleming, who took a liking to Lucy. And when the group returned, they were excited to discover that there was a brand “new” Sean Connery Bond film based on their adventure! Meanwhile Flynn was able to use a nuke to create a long-lasting battery for his ship, which may make it more difficult for the team to keep up with him and track his location.

What I really enjoy about this show is its blend of action, mystery, history, and fun. Each week we get some tiny clues as to the larger mission Flynn is on and how Lucy is a part of that. I don’t know how they are ever going to fix history, as Flynn keeps causing small things to change here and there – though most of them seem to affect Lucy the most.

On tonight’s episode, “The Alamo,” the team gets stranded at the Battle of the Alamo, a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. They learn about trust and sacrifice as they face insurmountable odds and no hope of rescue.

See what gets turned around in history tonight on NBC at 10:01/9:01c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Man With a Plan, Gotham, Lucifer, Supergirl, Jane the Virgin, and People of Earth.
