scorpion14smallI’m so happy that Scorpion is back from the winter break! It’s been an emotional rollercoaster this season, especially given Megan’s death a few episodes ago, and the winter finale was no exception. Of course the COTW was fun (and slightly unrealistic, although that’s nothing new for the show), but it was the rest of it that made it such a great episode. I loved the helium Christmas karaoke, and for the shippers out there, there were fun moments for Happy/Toby and Paige/Walter. Hopefully we’ll see some movement forward on both those fronts. But the most emotional moment in the episode was Walter’s reaction to the missing Ferret Bueller, when he broke down thinking the rodent was gone, only to have it be truly about losing Megan (and just before he won the big grant!). To fire off the rocket with Megan’s ashes seemed only fitting for this team of oddball geniuses.

On tonight’s episode, “White Out,” in order to save a United States Special Forces unit from certain death, Team Scorpion must brave the subzero temperatures of Antarctica. Also, when Happy becomes cut off from the team and lost in a blizzard, Toby risks his life to find her.

See how Toby and the team can rescue Happy and the SF unit tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Kids Baking Championship, SuperHuman, Supergirl, Superstore, & NCIS: LA.

theknick1218smallTonight, the second season of The Knick comes to a close. Last week, Dr. Gallinger’s day started off with some good news. The police had closed the case of Dr. Cotton’s murder – the man’s sons had admitted to poisoning their father. This meant Everett’s wife Eleanor was off the hook, though she was still likely the real killer. Later that day, Algernon brought Everett before the medical board, trying to get his license revoked for performing dozens of vasectomies on the boys of the “idiot house.” However, the board denied his claim, affirming the importance of eugenics as a legitimate and necessary field of study. As they left the building, Edwards and Gallinger traded insults and were preparing for a fistfight when Everett sucker-punched Algernon. Everett continued, making sure to throw several punches to Algernon’s injured eye. He then called Algernon the N-word and headed home to celebrate by having sex with his wife’s sister. (What a classy guy – how does Eric Johnson always seem to end up playing these jerks?!)

At the construction site of the new Knickerbocker, Cornelia confronted her father about his involvement in bringing several infectious diseases into the United States. As the captain tried to defend himself, a fire broke out. He helped his daughter escape from the burning building but ended up leaping to his own death.

Meanwhile, Thackary’s health was deteriorating – he had massive internal damage due to his continued cocaine use; Barrow’s wife threatened to expose her husband’s money skimming if he didn’t agree to give her back her home and half of his earnings; Cleary and Harriet’s condom sales to prostitutes were booming; and Lucy tortured her ill father with the sordid details of her sex life before giving him a lethal injection.

How was the fire started, and was Capt. Robertson’s death a suicide, murder, or just bad luck? What does this mean for the new Knick – and has Barrow lost his cash cow? Will Thackary get the medical assistance he needs, or will he continue to insist on alternate treatments? What will be the fallout from Gallinger and Edwards’ fight? And will Harriet ever warm to Cleary’s advances? I have thoroughly enjoyed this season of The Knick – even more than the first – and am really looking forward to seeing what happens tonight!

On tonight’s finale, “This Is All We Are,” Thackery ignores Zinberg’s advice at Mt. Sinai and undertakes a risky, alternative course of action; Cornelia confronts Henry about the family business; Barrow’s actions at the hospital construction site are called into question; Gallinger ponders a job opportunity; and Cleary steadfastly refuses to give up on Harriet.

Find out how the season ends tonight on Cinemax at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording MasterChef: Junior and Z Nation.

brooklyn991213smallLast week on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we basically met the complete opposite of Jake and Rosa – cop partners from Sweden who were there to find stolen diamonds. They were all sorts of touchy-feely, waaaaaaay too far into each other’s personal business (*snicker* The best line of the night was that he already had his sperm in a tooperware container when she and her husband were trying to have a baby.), and were overly cheerful yet…condescending, too. Of course, Jake and Rosa don’t touch, don’t talk, certainly don’t share sperm, and much to Jake’s disappointment, don’t even share things like what he should get Amy for their anniversary or that Rosa and Marcus broke up. In the end, they were able to solve the case and Rosa not only helped Jake out with a gift idea, but she shared that she has a new boyfriend – only admitting his name was…*gasp* Tom *gasp*…after she’d downed a bunch of shots.

I love the show this year. It’s fun seeing the different pairings working together, and I love that we know Jake and Amy are together but it hasn’t affected anything negatively in terms of the show or how they work together, etc. Tonight is the fall finale, and it was a fantastic episode (gotta love the press screening rooms. *grin*). One of my favorites. There’s some great scenes with Jake and Charles, which are always fun, and an awesome story line with Capt. Holt, Rosa, and Amy. Overall, it’s a great way to go into the fall break.

On tonight’s episode, “Yippie Kayak,” Jake, Charles and Gina are involved in a real-life Die Hard situation while off-duty on Christmas Eve, and Terry must leave his family celebration to try to save his squad. Meanwhile, Amy tries to prove she’s just as tough as Holt and Rosa. Dean Winters, Merrin Dungey, and Jamal Duff guest star.

To see what predicament Jake, Charles, and Gina find themselves in, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, Agent X, Holiday Baking Championship, CSI: Cyber, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

bones1210smallIt’s been several weeks since the last episode of Bones. A political journalist was killed after publishing an article exposing corruption in the NSA. After lots of twists and turns, it was finally revealed that the journalist’s source was actually her killer. It was a complicated case, and while it was good, the best part of the episode was the personal stuff, from Booth and Brennan discussing what food they should have for Thanksgiving dinner, then deciding to invite their friends from the Jeffersonian and FBI, and finally having dinner all together – including Booth’s surprise…a very grown-up-looking Parker!

There are two episodes tonight, including the fall finale, which makes me very sad! I have to admit that I caved and watched both on the FOX press site, and I will say they are two very, very good episodes. The first is fun, funny, and a nice episode to whet your appetite before the second, which is much, MUCH darker, scary, intense, and one of my favorite Bones episodes to date. Every single person did an amazing job. I plan to rewatch both episodes at least once.

On tonight’s first episode, “The Cowboy in the Contest,” To solve a murder, Brennan and Booth go undercover at an Old West-style shooting competition, while Angela and Hodgins discuss the future of their family and Cam gets close with photographer Sebastian Kohl (guest star Gil Darnell). Then on the second episode, “The Doom in the Boom,” the team investigates the murder of a police officer that sends shockwaves through both the Jeffersonian and FBI teams. Behavioral analyst Leslie Green (guest star Sara Rue) is assigned to work with Booth on the investigation and lends her professional assessments on who the cop killer could be, while Cam must make some decisions in her personal life and the entire team re-evaluates what is truly important to them.

See all the fun and excitement tonight on FOX starting at 8/7c.

screamqueens128smallTonight is the big Scream Queens finale, and we’ll finally discover the identity of the Red Devil killer! Last week, it was Black Friday – Chanel’s second favorite holiday – and so at midnight, Chanel and her disciples headed to the mall, where they taunted the other shoppers with their exclusive access to the doorbusters. Meanwhile, Grace, Pete and Wes tried to report Gigi’s murder to the police, but everyone had been fired due to incompetence, and Denise was now in charge! Chanel and the others didn’t leave the mall in time and ended up getting locked in. As they came face to face with the Red Devil, Chanel’s minions took off, leaving her to get shot in the shoulder by a crossbow. Just as the killer was about to make the mortal blow, Denise burst in to save the day…sort of. While she was busy over-explaining everything in great detail, the Red Devil killed her deputy and got away.

Chanel was convinced that Dean Munsch is the killer. and she told the sisters the only way for them to survive was to kill the dean first. So the girls headed to the dean’s house with some macaroons and poisoned cider, but the pufferfish they put in the drink had no effect on the dean. The girls then moved on to other ill-fated plans to freeze and drown the dean, but neither went as planned either.

So who is the mysterious killer – is it even a she like we’ve been led to believe?! Who will live, and who else will fall victim to the Red Devil before the night is over? Will the Red Devil live to kill another day, or will she be caught and pay for her crimes? I can’t wait to see how it all plays out on tonight’s 2-hour finale!

On tonight’s episodes, “Dorkus; The Final Girl(s),” startling confessions lead to the unmasking of the Red Devil and the identity of the killer.

Find out if the killer is revealed tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, iZombie, Chrisley Knows Best, and Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter.
