tbbt1119smallOn last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was finally ready to re-enter the dating world and posted an elaborate scavenger hunt on Craigslist to find his new Amy. The clues would test any potential mate’s intelligence and the fact that she had nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Raj and Howard counted down the seconds to the deadline, but it seemed that no one had solved the clues. A couple minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and Sheldon answered. The young woman who had solved his riddle seemed absolutely perfect for him, and they had great chemistry. However, Sheldon closed the door on her, saying that she had not completed the task in time. And that was it. Meanwhile, Leonard, Penny, and Bernadette had a stakeout to get a glimpse of Amy’s dinner date. Her date seemed like a great guy. However, once he discovered that Amy knew the famous Doctor Cooper and his colleagues, that’s all he wanted to talk about.

Amy and Sheldon haven’t really spoken much since the breakup, and I’m interested to see how Amy reacts when she learns that Sheldon had planned to propose. I think it’s only a matter of time before Amy and Sheldon get back together, and while I’d really like that to happen, I think it would be a lot of fun to see more of Sheldon trying to date other people.

On tonight’s episode, “The Platonic Permutation,” now just friends, Sheldon and Amy spend Thanksgiving at the aquarium; a reluctant Wolowitz volunteers at a soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj, and Emily; and Penny realizes that Leonard knows a bit more about her than he’s let on. Elon Musk guest stars.

To see what Leonard knows about Penny, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Life in Pieces, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes Reborn, The Blacklist, Bones, Sleepy Hollow, Haven, Spotless, and Nathan for You.

chicagomed1117smallOne of the shows I’ve been looking forward to most this fall is Chicago Med. We’ve already seen several members of the cast of this latest spinoff from Chicago Fire on that and Chicago PD. The show takes place in one of Chicago’s busiest hospital, Chicago Med. They’ll tackle new cases inspired by topical events and form relationships within the chaos of the emergency room. We’ll also see familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments, which is always fun. There’s an amazing cast: Oliver Platt (Fargo, The Big Huff & more), S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order – I miss Lt. Van Buren!), Nick Gehlfuss (who we’ve seen many times now on Chicago PD as Jay’s brother!), Brian Tee (multiple episodes of Hawaii Five-0 & Crash), Torrey DeVitto (Pretty Little Liars, Army Wives, The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill), Colin Donnell (The Affair, Arrow), Yaya DaCosta (Chicago Fire, Ugly Betty, All My Children), & Rachel DiPillo (Jane the Virgin, The Gates, Big Time Rush).

One reason I’m excited about this is because I’m looking forward to having another medical show on that isn’t a primetime soap (*cough*Gray’s Anatomy*). In fact, in an interview on TVLine.com, they said, “We want to [be] much more in the ER and St. Elsewhere model than Grey’s Anatomy. It’s not going to be a pure soap by any stretch of the imagination, but there will be a lot of character storylines and emotional entanglements. We want to be telling cutting-edge stories about ethical conundrums and the state of medicine and health care in America today.” Check out the interview and the pictures. There’s some great info. (But beware of spoilers!)

On tonight’s episode, “Derailed,” the emergency department’s grand opening is interrupted by an onslaught of crash victims, pushing hospital administrator Sharon Goodwin and her staff to their limits as they frantically work to triage and treat patients. It’s all hands on deck as newly hired trauma surgeon Dr. Connor Rhodes, pregnant pediatrics specialist Dr. Natalie Manning, third-year resident Dr. Will Halstead, military-trained Dr. Ethan Choi, nurse April Sexton, and head of psychiatry Dr. Daniel Charles must pull together to save lives. Rounding out the team is medical student Sarah Reese, who quickly learns some of the hard lessons that come with life in the Emergency Department. Marlyne Barrett, David Eigenberg, Kara Killmer, and Jesse Lee Soffer guest star.

Meet the new team in Chicago tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped Junior, Grandfathered, NCIS, MasterChef Canada, NCIS: NOLA, & Chicago Fire.

intothebadlands1115smallTonight, AMC kicks off the new martial arts-meets-western series Into the Badlands. The series takes place in a dystopian future, in a land known as the Badlands, which has reverted back to a feudal system of government. The Badlands has been divided into 7 territories, each ruled by its own baron and his or her army of trained assassins, known as Clippers. Sunny (Daniel Wu, Chinese Zodiac) is the head Clipper/Regent for Baron Quinn (Marton Csokas, Sons of Liberty), the most powerful of all the barons. However, an ambitious new baron, the Widow (Emily Beecham, The Village), seeks to overthrow him and claim that title for herself. When Sunny comes across teenager M.K. (Aramis Knight), he discovers that the boy holds a dark energy within him that could be harnessed for good or evil, and he must keep him from falling into the hands of the Widow.

Rounding out the main characters are Quinn’s first wife Lydia (Orla Brady, American Odyssey); Quinn’s new fiancee Jade (Sarah Bolger, Once Upon a Time); Quinn’s only son/heir Ryder (Oliver Stark, Dracula); doctor Veil (Madeleine Mantock, Edge of Tomorrow), who’s in a secret relationship with Sunny; and Tilda (Alexia Ioannides, Parenthood), the Widow’s teenage assassin protege.

From the trailers, this looks like it is going to be a wild, action-packed series with some amazing fight sequences. It mixes the martial arts and western genres and adds a supernatural twist to the story. I am really looking forward to checking out tonight’s premiere!

On tonight’s episode, “The Fort,” the Badlands’ deadliest Clipper, Sunny, rescues a mysterious boy, M.K., who harbors a dark secret, but may also know the way out of the Badlands.

See if this interesting combination of genres is for you tonight on AMC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, Quantico, Bob’s Burgers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, The Librarians, Agent X, The Walking Dead, The Leftovers, Getting On, and Homeland.

2brokegirls1112smallLast season on 2 Broke Girls, Sophie and Oleg finally tied the knot in a fun, crazy, and over-the-top wedding. Max and Caroline were bridesmaids in dresses that weren’t nearly as horrible as expected, Oleg rode Chestnut into the church, and Earl walked Sophie down the aisle, only to disappear under Sophie’s huge dress. After having problems with the cupcake business all season long, Max and Caroline decided to give it more of a go. So this season should focus back more on the girls and their cupcake business, as well as their friends at the diner. I’m so glad it’s back tonight.

On tonight’s episode, “And the Wrecking Ball,” Max and Caroline team up with the diner staff in a frantic attempt to keep their businesses open when the city targets Han’s diner and their cupcake window for destruction. Also, Sophie and Oleg announce that they are trying to have a baby.

See if the gang can keep their businesses open tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Chopped, Life in Pieces, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, & Beat Bobby Flay.

agentxsmallI’m always up for trying a new action drama, and for me, TNT can really deliver. So when I read about their latest, Agent X, I couldn’t wait to see it. Jeff Hephner (Interstellar, Chicago Fire) stars as John Case, or Agent X, a top-secret agent who is deployed only by the Vice President. No one besides the VP (played by Sharon Stone) and her chief steward, Malcolm Millar (Gerald McRaney), and Chief Justice Caleb Thorne (James Earl Jones) even know about Agent X. When there’s a major crisis and traditional law enforcement and government can’t help, Agent X is deployed to help protect the country by any means necessary. I liked Hephner in Chicago Fire and I LOVE Gerald McRaney, so I’m hoping this will be a good one. There are two episodes tonight, so we’ll get a good chance to see how we like the show.

On tonight’s first episode, “Pilot,” after her inauguration, newly elected Vice President Natalie Maccabee is initiated into a covert world of danger by her chief steward, Malcolm Millar and Chief Justice Caleb Thorne. Natalie quickly finds herself in play when the daughter of FBI Director Stanton is kidnapped, and authorities are helpless in rescuing her.

Then on the second episode, “The Enemy of My Enemy,” one of John’s old nemeses, terrorist Malik Ahmad, steals an arsenal of nuclear warheads and a scientist to activate them. John is forced to work with his enemy, Olga Petrovka, in order to destroy them and rescue the scientist. Meanwhile, Natalie and Malcolm endeavor to protect John’s identity from an FBI investigation.

Check out the exciting drama tonight on TNT at 9/8c & 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Great British Baking Show, Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Holiday Baking Championship, Cutthroat Kitchen, & CSI: Cyber.
