I’m sad that it’s the season finale for MacGyver, because my Friday nights are better because of this show. Last week’s episode had Mac and Riley going to Area 51 to deal with an unidentified weapon that was found in the desert. After some intense investigation and gunfights with the men who were looking for the weapon, they managed to save the day and keep the weapon out of enemy hands. In this episode, Riley also used the security clearance that she was given for this case to look up the files about Mac’s father that Matty had and gave him the USB drive with the information to look at if he sees fit. I’m very anxious to hopefully finally learn what Matty has to do with Mac’s father.

On tonight’s episode, “MacGyver + MacGyver,” MacGyver gets a shocking surprise when he tries to tell Matty that he’s quitting the Phoenix Foundation. Tate Donovan guest stars.

To find out if Macgyver actually quits, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, MasterChef: Junior, and Blindspot.

Last week’s Blindspot seemed to be a turning point in the new “relationship” Roman had with Jane and the FBI to take down Crawford. Jane, Weller, & Zapata were attending a gala hosted by Crawford and Blake. Avery left the van and sneaked in to confront Crawford. They were able to get her out of there without alerting Crawford as to who they really were, and Roman explained how he would turn off the security that would then allow their cameras to record the meeting Crawford was going to have with a big bad guy, which should allow them to get him. Unfortunately, after Blake gave him a heartfelt speech about love and family, Roman changed his mind and raced into the meeting to turn back on the security and tell Crawford the FBI was on its way. In the jet after Crawford, Blake, Roman, and Crawford’s attorney escaped the gala ahead of the FBI raid, Crawford gave his own heartfelt speech about family, etc. The attorney then brought up the question of how Roman knew. He sidestepped the issue, but Crawford seemed suspicious. He mentioned the task he’d set “Tom” on, killing the FBI team, and this time, Roman seemed to do what he was asked to do. He contacted someone (multiple someones, it seems) and now Jane, Weller, and the others are in immediate danger. Eek!

We’re coming up on the end of the season. Only five more episodes, including tonight’s. NBC has yet to renew it, so either they need to wrap the Crawford/Roman story line up in these five episodes or we’ll be left with a huge cliffhanger at the end of the season. I’ll be very unhappy if that happens and the show isn’t renewed!

On tonight’s episode, “Clamorous Night,” the team faces a deadly threat on all of their lives. Roman’s allegiances are tested.

See if everyone makes it out alive tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0, & MasterChef: Junior.

Danger Will Robinson! Early this morning, Netflix released the first season of a new reboot of the sci-fi series Lost in Space, which updates and modifies some things from the classic 1965 series. The Robinson family — Marine John Robinson (Toby Stephens, Black Sails), his wife aerospace engineer Maureen (Molly Parker, House of Cards, Deadwood), and their three children, Judy (Taylor Russell, Falling Skies), Penny (Mina Sundwall, Freeheld), and Will (Maxwell Jenkins, Sense8) — is part of the 24th colonist group, which has left Earth in search of a better life on a new planet. They are aboard the Resolute space station, when they are forced to evacuate. Their Jupiter 2 escape ship crash lands on a mysterious planet. Everyone in the family has gone through rigorous training for this mission, and each brings some sort of skill to the table, but are they really prepared for what lies ahead?

Immediately upon their arrival, the Robinsons face one danger after the next, until Will befriends a strange robot with special abilities. Meanwhile, another Jupiter ship also crash lands on the planet. This one containing a roughneck/smuggler named Don West (Ignacio Serricchino, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Bones), and a mysterious woman secretly assuming the stolen identity of Dr. Smith (Parker Posey, Search Party). It is only a matter of time until this ragtag group will eventually come together and must work together in order to survive their new environment. But who can really be trusted? Everyone seems to have secrets they are hiding from one another, including the robot!

As the series opens, viewers are immediately thrust into the thick of the action as the Robinsons struggle to survive their harsh new environment. Through flashbacks, the series slowly reveals the characters’ backstories and pieces together the events that ultimately led up to the Robinsons’ crash onto this unknown planet. Where are they? How did they end up here? Who is “Dr. Smith”? Where did the robot come from? And what happened on the Resolute that caused the crash? The first two episodes of the series have some really tense moments and unexpected twists. I look forward to seeing what other turns of events, mysteries, and adventures await in the rest of the 10-episode first season!

After a couple of weeks off, MacGyver is returning tonight with a new episode. This season has been stressing me out with the fact that Matty has been keeping information about his father from Mac. I hope they wrap this up soon because the team can’t work well if they don’t feel like they can trust Matty.

On tonight’s episode, “Riley + Airplane,” when Matty and the team search for a former government tech who stole classified intel and has been evading capture, they reunite with the Coltons, the family of bounty hunters, who are pursuing the same man for different reasons.

To find out if the team can work together with the Coltons better this time, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, Taken, Blindspot, and MasterChef Junior.

One of the biggest shockers of last week’s Blindspot had to be Blake’s kidnapping. Roman fought like hell to get to her but couldn’t get there quite quick enough, and she was spirited away in a van while taking a break in the middle of a high-stakes poker game to get close to a contact/old friend of her father’s. The other biggest shocker was that Reade’s girlfriend (now fiancée) Meg is in the country illegally. Eek! He’s known for a while, but last night, Zapata learned about it as well. And Reade took it upon himself to talk to a friend at the State Department, but with a new person in charge, he couldn’t help Reade.

Then there was the A story: a woman (Betty – not her real name…) working at the NSA stole sensitive information when the rest of the floor was celebrating someone’s birthday. She couldn’t just walk out with it, obviously, since they screen for stuff like that, so she took some pill that made her pass out and have to get carried out by paramedics, which meant she bypassed the normal security procedures with the drive of information she stole in the heel of her shoe. Then Nas showed up at Weller and Jane’s apartment with news that Crawford was indeed the initial funder of Sandstorm and then she told them about the theft from the NSA – a very, very bad computer virus the NSA made. After finding the middleman between the buyer and seller (a 16yo kid with a very bad attitude) and putting the pieces together, the team ended up at the black-hat hacker/dark web party Rich had been begging Reade to attend. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to get the buyer, but they did get “Betty” and Jane was able to get the virus so the bad guy got away but didn’t get the prize. Of course, Nas turned around and stole it from the FBI in the hopes to get back into the NSA, rather than just working with the CIA like she has been. Weller knew right away and wasn’t surprised or even that unhappy, it seemed like, so…more power to her, I guess.

Finally, Jane took some advice from Nas about Avery and invited Avery to meet her for coffee, rather than waiting and letting Avery come to her. Nas also called Weller and said she looked into Avery’s father (I’m assuming adopted father, but…) and found he had some shady dealings with none other than…Crawford. Eek!

On tonight’s episode, “Everlasting,” when Patterson’s investigation into a tattoo results in a horrible incident, she tries to figure out what went wrong…but quickly realizes all is not as it seems.

See what happens with Patterson tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing MacGyver, MasterChef: Junior, Hawaii Five-0, & Blue Bloods.
