From 2002-2007, the Disney Channel animated action comedy-adventure series Kim Possible followed the adventures of teenage crime fighter Kim Possible, who balanced saving the world with dealing with the normal problems of a high school student. Helping her on her missions was clumsy best friend Ron Stoppable and his pet naked mole rat Rufus. Providing them with remote technical assistance was 10-year old computer genius Wade. While Team Possible came up against many different criminals, their biggest foe was super-villain Dr. Drakken and his sidekick Shego (who was often the more grounded and sensible of the pair).

Tonight, these characters return in a brand new live-action Disney Channel Original Movie, Kim Possible. In the film, Kim (Sadie Stanley) and Ron (Sean Giambrone, The Goldbergs) enter high school and become friends with Athena (Ciara Riley Wilson, OMG!). With Kim’s guidance, Athena transforms into the newest member of Team Possible and soon starts to eclipse Kim. When Drakken (Todd Stashwick, 12 Monkeys) and Shego (Taylor Ortega) resurface in Middleton, the team must stop them. The movie also stars Issac Ryan Brown (Raven’s Home) as Wade, Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) as Kim’s mother Dr. Ann Possible, Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio) as Professor Dementor, and Christy Carlson Romano (the original voice of Kim) as Poppy Blu.

I was a huge fan of the original animated series and can’t wait to check out tonight’s film to see how these characters translate into the real world.

Go back to your childhood (or in Jenny’s case, her son’s childhood…she sighed sadly…) tonight on Disney Channel at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Doom Patrol, The Umbrella Academy, Fresh Off the Boat, Proven Innocent, and Strike Back.

Last week’s Chicago PD was an intense, sad one, especially for Atwater. When he went undercover with a local drug dealer, he and his contact (who didn’t know he was a cop) were driving on their way to meet with the fake supplier (Antonio), when they were stopped by the police – for no real reason other than being black. The two cops were super aggressive and racist jerks, but Atwater’s contact went for one cop’s gun and was shot and killed. Atwater had to decide how to handle his report on what happened, because it was such a bull crap stop and the cops were so terrible, but in the end, he watched the body cam (or cop car cam? I can’t remember which…) video, and it was clear to him the contact had gone for the cop’s gun, so it was a good shoot, even though it was a bad stop with terrible attitudes. Regardless, it was a tough episode all around, but it was a good one too.

On tonight’s episode, “Ties That Bind,” the team travels to a Wisconsin gun show to take down a supplier who’s manufacturing “cop killer” machine guns. Before going undercover together, Burgess discovers that Upton is dating Ruzek.

Go out of state with Intelligence tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chicago Med, The Goldbergs, Schooled, Chicago Fire, Guy’s Grocery Games, Single Parents, & Match Game.

Last week was Gina’s last week at the 99 on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Tying back to the previous episode, she took Jake’s advice and decided to spread her wings and fly. Much to Holt’s dismay, she didn’t have concrete plans for her future – basically anything that would then make her a millionaire. During his time with her, while they played game after game of chess, Holt tried to talk her out of it, but she stuck to her guns. The funniest part of the episode was Gina and Jake trying to get to Mario Lopez at the Manhattan Club and then having him show up at the “hungry monkeys” party only to be turned away. It was a sweet episode, seeing her spend time with all (okay, most…poor Hitchcock & Sully. LOL) of them – or in Terry’s case, giving him a subscription to the Yogurts of the World Club.

I love this show, and I love that the move to NBC didn’t change it. It’s still the same show we’ve always known and loved – funny and quick=witted with a little bit of heart.

On tonight’s episode, “A Tale of Two Bandits,” Terry believes the Pontiac Bandit is stealing cars again, but Jake is convinced his friend wouldn’t do that. The rest of the squad fight to keep Shaw’s a police bar after some firemen stake their claim to it. Craig Robinson & Rob Riggle guest star.

See if Terry or Jake are correct about Doug Judy tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, The Titan Games, Top Chef, Dr. Pimple Popper, Will & Grace, Beat Bobby Flay, & S.W.A.T.

If you read this blog much, you may have seen me raving a few weeks ago about the premiere of the final season of You’re the Worst, when I called it a perfect microcosm of the bittersweet show. Well, they clearly took this season very seriously and are seeking to stick the landing with a perfect score, because last week they did it again! We started with Jimmy getting a check for $700,000 for selling the movie rights to his last bawdy book. He reached out to Paul, who is an accountant. Amongst other things, Paul advised him to not tell Gretchen because of her massive crippling debt.

Soon, Becca showed up and tried to fuck Jimmy for blackmail purposes, but he got a pic of her C-section scar and blackmailed her instead! Some work-related B-stories peppered the episode as well. Edgar was lying to his boss cause he hated his new position at work, and Gretch needed to get her biggest clients cool with the idea that Lindsey was taking over as their manager. When Becca failed in her honeypot trap, her husband came to just pitch business ideas to Jimmy. Everybody wanted his money!

When Gretchen did finally find out about the cash, she told him she’s slept with lots of rich guys and never pursued anyone for money. Jimmy decided to put the money into paying off his mortgage and buying a fancy new red sports car for Gretchen. She noted they may actually be growing up, and we saw a moment of horror and hesitation on both their faces. They avoided that and got in the car to go get breakfast. SMASH CUT TO: Jimmy opened the door of the car back up, but we saw there had been much damage to the car, and as he and Edgar got out, there was a “for sale” sign on the lawn. It was too good to be true! But only one third into the season, this hopefully means the last episodes will once more climb toward some oddball reunion of these star-crossed, mentally questionable lovers. Hopefully, this show finally wins the Emmy it deserves!

On tonight’s episode, “A Very Good Boy,” Jimmy attempts to prove that, despite being on the verge of becoming a married man, he has not lost his edge. Edgar and Lindsay attempt to go on a real date.

Find out if Jimmy accomplishes his goal tonight on FXX at 10/9c.

I will also be tuning in for Deadly Class and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.

We’re here once more at the precipice of doom or redemption as we slide into the season three finale of the best damned sitcom on television in 2019, The Good Place. Last week started with a meetup at the IHOP between our gang of dearly departed afterlife denizens, their demonic pal Micheal, & the super-powerful judge (guest star Maya Rudolph). The Interdimensional Hole of Pancakes was a confusing junction of ten dimensions, which made it a colorful but dangerous terrain. Jason likened it to a drug trip as Tahini insisted that they were trapped in the pattern from a 2012 collection dress. When the judge showed up, she was pissed, especially at Michael, who had stolen a book from Accounting.

Michael tried to make a case for all of humanity, but it was Jason who ultimately convinced her that she’d never understand how hard it was for humans unless she went to Earth. She agreed and made a massive journey in what was basically an instant for us and the gang. Somewhere in there, Jason and Janet professed their feelings for each other and become a couple again. The judge soon came back exasperated, claiming “Earth is messed up, y’all!” She summoned Michael’s old boss from Hell, Shawn, to confer on the state of affairs. While this sit-down was occurring, Chidi accidentally becomes/sees the Time Knife, which was hilarious.

They agreed upon a new “Fake Good Place” to test if humans can be redeemed after death or if they all actually deserve eternal punishment in Hell. The new neighborhood was being built in Mindy’s backyard in The Medium Place. It was there that we saw Derek had become much smarter after billions of resets. He bragged about now almost having a normal-sized penis, too. There will be one year to track the improvement or lack thereof for the four souls about to enter this new experiment. Derek offered to help Janet make all the “Janet babies” that they will populate the new neighborhood with, and this made Jason predictably jelly. Just before the launch of the new “Fake Good Place,” Shawn told Michael that they made a Michael suit to torture Chidi, Jason, Elanor, and Tahini with if he loses the experiment. This led to him having an anxiety attack right before the 1st new dead person awoke in the afterlife in the waiting room outside his office. Cliffhanger!!!!

This show is so good, and the direction it is taking now almost assures us a season four. I can’t wait to see how they wrap it up tonight. And we know that next year it’ll feature all the main characters from the first three season, plus out new four subjects.

On tonight’s episode, “Pandemonium,” various events occur, in a certain specific order.

To see how pandemonium and “in a certain specific order” go together in this season finale, tune in to NBC at 9:30/8:30c.

I’ll also be tuning in for the season premiere of Broad City and new episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Gotham, & Star Trek: Discovery.
