Tonight, NBC hosts its annual Red Nose Day fundraiser, and kicking off the events is Celebrity Escape Room. In this fun special, Jack Black plays an over-the-top, eccentric, pony-tailed billionaire version of himself. Jack has invited celebrity friends Ben Stiller, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Adam Scott to his mansion to partake in an escape room. They will have 60 minutes to solve puzzles and make their way through the various rooms and ultimately escape. For each puzzle they solve, they earn $15K for the Red Nose Day charity, and if they make it through to the end, they earn $150K. Should they get stuck and need help, all four of them must unanimously agree to put on their red noses and ask for a clue, but they must use these requests sparingly, as they are limited to three clues over the course of the game.

As the four celebrities step back in time and make their way through the totally tubular 1980s high school themed escape room, the viewer is regularly notified about the puzzles the participants are trying to figure out and what clues they should be looking for. The puzzles are also personalized for this group of celebrities, including elements from their own high school experiences (as well as their acting careers). Sometimes things seem so obvious, but it’s fun to see these actors struggle and get completely lost or make really stupid mistakes.

Throughout the game, Jack Black chimes in over the loudspeaker with funny quips and insults, and there are also cutaway interviews with the participants, who comment on their own performance during the escape room. There are some really fun cameos from many other celebrities, who also pop up before/after commercial breaks. I’ve been to a few escape rooms and always have fun trying to solve the difficult puzzles. However, this is less of a puzzle-solving task for the viewer and more of just a fun viewing experience. I really enjoyed this special and hope that we get to see more of these in the future.

To see how the celebs solve the puzzles, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Holey Moley, To Tell the Truth, Broke, Celebrity Watch Party, and Vagrant Queen.

In a special social distancing edition, Hollywood Game Night is back tonight for a very worth cause: the Red Nose Day campaign. Jane Lynch will host remotely, while six great celebs will battle it out from their own homes to help raise money and awareness for Red Nose Day.

According to NBC, “Red Nose Day raises money and awareness to ensure that children in need are safe, healthy and educated in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and in some of the poorest communities in the world. With the outbreak of COVID-19, support for children in need has never been more critical. Throughout the Red Nose Day campaign, funds raised are being directed to address the impact of COVID-19 on children living in poverty and the organizations supporting them. This includes accelerated funding to many of Red Nose Day’s nonprofit grantee partners who are working on the frontlines of this crisis. Grantee partners include Feeding America, Save the Children, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Children’s Health Fund, Covenant House, The Global Fund and more.”

So join Jane, Kristen Bell, Nick Jonas, Kenan Thompson, Sean Hayes, John Legend, & Retta and give a little to help the children during this extra tough time for the world.

The 1-hour “Social Distancing Edition” airs tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Chopped & Supermarket Stakeout.

To support and help raise money for America’s largest hunger-relief organization, Feeding America, some of the country’s biggest, funniest comedy superstars will perform…and some of these names have me super excited. Included among the comedians contributing pre-recorded comedy segments are Byron Allen, Louie Anderson, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Wayne Brady, Adam Carolla, Cedric the Entertainer, Margaret Cho, Andrew Dice Clay, Billy Crystal, Whitney Cummings, Bill Engvall, Billy Gardell, Brad Garrett, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Hart, Kevin James, Keegan-Michael Key, George Lopez, Howie Mandel, Eddie Murphy, Caroline Rhea, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Kenan Thompson, Marlon Wayans, & more.

Right now, we can all use more things to laugh about, and I have no doubt the comedic lineup will be able to do that. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Wayne Brady, Bill Engvall, Brad Garrett, Caroline Rhea, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Hart, Adam Sandler, and Kenan Thompson, but all of them have a great capacity to make us laugh, so it should be a fun two hours!

Don’t miss the fun tonight on NBC starting at 7/6c.

I’ll also be watching Secrets of the Zoo & The Rookie.

After almost a year (!!!), we’re FINALLY getting the final season premiere of Blindspot tonight. In case you don’t remember, on the 2-part season finale, the team was racing against the clock to stop Madeline Burke’s Helios attack. When they finally got a lead into two of her associates and tracked one down, they found him with Keaton. Turned out the guy was former CIA. Nash, Keaton’s boss, showed up. They argued and agreed to go to a neutral location and question him together, but on the drive there, rockets blew up the SUV and killed him. In order to figure out who the mole inside the CIA or FBI was, the FBI brought in Madeline from prison, but she fed them nothing but whining about being innocent and this being an attack on her from the FBI, just like they had a problem with her father.

They captured Dominic on security cams at the Belmore science lab, getting handed a package. That’s when we found out Nash was the mole in the CIA and he warned Dominic to get away from Belmore before the team could get there. They did find the woman who gave Dominic the package. They were shocked when they found out it was a computer virus, not a biological agent. Not long after that, they figured out his target: NYIOC, which controls the power grid to the entire East Coast. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get to Dominic in time to stop him from uploading the virus. Patterson and Zapata stayed in the lab to try to stop the virus, while Jane & Weller went after Dominic. During his escape, Jane and Weller cornered him in the hallway, and he basically sacrificed himself for the cause. And unfortunately, Kathy was still working with him (remember, she thought they were in love…), so she was able to stop Patterson from halting the virus…and the entire power grid went down.

Tonight, NBC is reuniting the cast of Parks and Recreation for a special hour of TV. The series originally ran on the network from 2009-15 and featured an amazing cast, including Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, and Retta.

Tonight’s event begins with The Paley Center Salutes Parks and Recreation, a half-hour special that looks back on some of the show’s most iconic moments over its seven seasons, as well as some fun behind-the-scenes stories from the cast. This will be followed by the all-new A Parks and Recreation Special, a brand-new episode of the series that was filmed by the actors at their homes during this time of isolation. The producers have stated that all of the original characters from the series will return, as well as several guest stars from the Pawnee universe. When the series ended, it was sad to say good-bye to these quirky characters, but I am so excited that we’ll get to take this trip back to Pawnee to get an update on Leslie Knope and the gang. This show always made me laugh, and I am really looking forward to this new episode – I am especially interested to see if/how they work in the fact that Chris Pratt has become a major film star since he initially took on the role of the dim-witted, out-of-shape Andy Dwyer!

On tonight’s special, “A Parks and Recreation Special,” Leslie Knope connects with her friends from the Pawnee Parks and Recreation department – Ron Swanson, Andy Dwyer, April Ludgate, Ben Wyatt, Tom Haverford, Donna Meagle, Ann Perkins, Chris Traeger, and more – to check in during a challenging time.

The special and new episode air tonight on NBC starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Young Sheldon, Council of Dads, Top Chef, and Tacoma FD.
