Last week on NCIS: LA, the team had to investigate a dead man when napalm was found at the crime scene. Yes, napalm. Not something the team had to deal with every day! That led them to a young woman – in high school – at a coffee shop, after security cameras caught her speaking to the guy multiple times. At first they thought he was going to use napalm to blow up the high school, since the girl was being severely bullied. In the end, it turned out he was in cahoots with another guy and the guy’s father to blow up an underground natural gas storage that had a leak. They wanted to blow up LA’s natural gas supply so they have to convert to wind and solar power. Thankfully the team stopped them just in time. (The team minus Deeks, who had to go back to LAPD for mandatory active shooter course.)

This is going to be a big week for the team. After being gone the whole season (minus some time we’ve spent in her POV overseas), Hetty is back this week when the team finds a clue and go after her. Thank goodness. I like Mosley, but I’m tired of the Hetty being gone and being held hostage story line. Either bring her back for good or let her retire. But dang, let’s move on and let the characters move on!

On tonight’s episode, “Cac Tu Nhan,” while Hetty is being tortured by her captors in Vietnam, Eric and Nell find a clue to her whereabouts, prompting the team to organize a rescue mission with very little information. Carl Lumbly & John M. Jackson guest star.

See if the team can find and rescue Hetty tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games & Worst Cooks in America.

There probably aren’t many people who aren’t familiar with the 1983 film A Christmas Story – it has become a Christmas classic. Five years ago, the film was adapted to a Broadway musical, and tonight FOX will present the special 3-hour live event, A Christmas Story Live! The play is set in 1940s Indiana, where an eleven-year-old dreamer Ralphie (Andy Walken) desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas. However, his parents (Chris Diamantopoulos & Maya Rudolph) are worried that Ralphie will shoot his eye out and say no. So Ralphie decides to take his request directly to Santa (David Alan Grier). This humorous and nostalgic story is narrated by a grown-up Ralphie (Matthew Broderick), who recounts his misadventures with his friends as they deal with school bullies, Ralphie’s annoying younger brother Randy, and a grumpy but loving father who always finds something to complain about.

I have seen the original film countless numbers of times – TBS airs a 24-hour marathon of the movie each year on Christmas Day. I have a hard time imagining these beloved characters being played by different actors, but I am really looking forward to tonight’s live production. I’m interested to see how this story translates into a musical – I have been a huge fan of these live musicals that the TV networks have been putting on each year! The cast sounds amazing. In addition to those already mentioned above, the production will also star Jane Krakowski as teacher Miss Shields; Ana Gasteyer as Mrs. Schwartz, the mother of one of Ralphie’s friends; Ken Jeong as the restaurant owner; and pop boy band PRETTYMUCH playing carolers.

Don’t miss this fun Christmas experience LIVE tonight on FOX starting at 7/6c.

I’ll also be watching/recording MythBusters and SMILF.

Tonight, TBS kicks off the second season of the dark comedy, Search Party. In the first season, New Yorker Dory (Alia Shawkat, Arrested Development) came across a missing persons flyer for former classmate Chantal Witherbottom. Dory didn’t know Chantal very well, but she quickly made it her mission to find out what happened to the young woman and enlisted the help of her friends. Most of Dory’s friends are a bit self-absorbed and narcissistic, and they don’t understand why Dory has become obsessed with Chantal, but they helped her out anyway. At the end of the first season, this makeshift Scooby Gang had managed to track down the place in Montreal where Chantal was staying. In a moment of confusion, Dory’s boyfriend Drew (John Reynolds, Stranger Things) whacked private eye Keith on the head with a candlestick, killing him. When Elliot (John Early, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp) saw what happened, he told them not to call the police. As they tried to clean things up and hide the body, Portia arrived with a happy and healthy Chantal – her disappearance had just been a misunderstanding all along!

As the second season opens, Dory, Elliot, and Drew must deal with the body hiding in the closet before the others discover what happened. Will they get caught? How will they dispose of the body, and how will they cover their tracks? Now that Chantal is no longer missing, will this group find a new mystery to try to solve, or will they just get back to their old self-absorbed lives is New York City? I really enjoyed tonight’s premiere – who knew covering up a murder could be so funny?!

On the first half of tonight’s double-episode premiere, “Murder!” after finding Chantal and killing the not-so-villainous Keith, the gang is faced with the horrifying task of trying to bury a body before the sun comes up. Then, in “Conspiracy,” the gang goes on a mission to cover up Keith’s semi-accidental murder and return Chantal to her family, with just a few major roadblocks along the way.

Check out the first two episodes of the season tonight on TBS starting at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Ghosted, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, The Walking Dead, Good Behavior, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and SMILF.

Tonight, FOX kicks off the new paranormal comedy Ghosted, starring Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) and Craig Robinson (The Office) as mismatched partners recruited by a top-secret government agency to search for a missing agent. Max (Scott) is a brilliant but disgraced astrophysicist who now works at a bookstore. The former Stanford professor lost his credibility after he started making claims that his wife had been abducted by aliens. Meanwhile, Leroy (Robinson) was the best missing persons detective the LAPD ever had, but now he’s a divorced dad working as a mall cop. Heading up the Bureau Underground is Captain Ava Lafrey (Ally Walker, Colony, Longmire), technician Barry Shaw (Adeel Akhtar, Unforgotten, The Night Manager), and Agent Annie (Amber Stevens West, The Carmichael Show).

The series has a bit of an X-Files/Mulder & Scully vibe with the believer and the skeptic partnered up to investigate paranormal cases. Adam Scott and Craig Robinson have great chemistry and comedic timing, which makes this show a lot of fun. There is also a bit of an 80s throwback vibe to the show, especially in the soundtrack and score. The end of tonight’s premiere definitely leaves you wanting to see more, and I look forward to seeing what strange cases and misadventures these two get involved in in future episodes.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” a key member of a top-secret government agency goes missing, so cynical former detective Leroy and genius “true believer” Max are recruited to find him. The two polar opposites must work together to find the agent, while uncovering possible alien activity and chilling “unexplained” paranormal events in their own city of Los Angeles.

See if this new comedy’s for you tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I can’t believe they went there on NCIS: LA last week! After Sam’s wife, Michelle, was kidnapped by Tahir Khalid’s guys, I thought for sure the team would find her before time ran out. Unfortunately, though they were at the right place earlier in the day, they didn’t KNOW it, and by the time they figured it out and Deeks and Kensi rushed in, killing all the bad guys in the building, Michelle was already dead from running out of oxygen in the small freezer she’d been kept in. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch Sam get there slowly walk in to uncover his wife’s body and see her for himself. Until that moment, I wasn’t sure if she were alive or dead, and I nearly cried, knowing how much he had to be hurting.

One other thing that was interesting about the episode… Sabatino was back – and he got Sidorov out of prison to allow the team to try to get some real answers about Michelle’s kidnapping. Sabatino told them it should prove that he wasn’t involved in trying to bring the team down before. Can we trust him on that? I have no idea…

So what will happen on tonight’s season finale? Will Sam get his revenge against Khalid? Even if he does, will he destroy his life and his future to get it, leaving his kids without both of their parents? What about the rest of the team? Will Deeks FINALLY propose to Kensi, in the wake of Sam’s devastating loss? Will we get a definitive answer about Sabatino? And will the show set up any story lines for next season?

On tonight’s episode, “Unleashed,” following the kidnapping of Sam’s wife, Michelle Hanna, Sam goes rogue from the NCIS team and attempts to stop his arch nemesis Tahir Khaled (guest star Anslem Richardson) from ever targeting his family again. Erik Palladino also guest stars.

To see how it works out for Sam and the team, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Little Big Shots, Chicago Justice, Iron Chef Gauntlet, Match Game, & Iron Chef Eats.
