Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice #1

parenthood129smallTonight, after 6 seasons, NBC finally closes the book on the story of the Braverman family with the series finale of Parenthood. Last week, Zeek decided he was not going to undergo the operation, so Sarah decided to move up the wedding so that her father could walk her down the aisle. Meanwhile, Amber went into labor and gave birth to her son, whom she (predictably) named Zeek; Kristina confronted Jasmine about guilting Adam into agreeing to rebuild the Luncheonette; and Joel moved back in with Julia, but getting things back to normal proved to be a bit of a struggle.

Get those tissues ready because tonight is the last we’ll see of the Bravermans, and since there’s a wedding involved, I expect we’ll see the extended family all return for this finale. What kind of closure will we get? Will Adam and Crosby resolve their differences and find a solution that would still let Crosby keep the Luncheonette while Adam pursues other interests (likely teaching at the new school)? It seems like Amber would be a good partner for Crosby, except that she doesn’t have any money to invest. Will Joel and Julia be successful in repairing their marriage? Will we get a glimpse into what lies in the future for all of the children? And will Zeek survive the night, or will this episode be “One Wedding and a Funeral”?

On tonight’s finale, “May God Bless and Keep You Always,” Sarah prepares for her special day. Meanwhile, Hank has big questions for Zeek and Drew; Amber adapts to motherhood; Julia and Joel get a phone call that prompts a crucial decision; and Kristina presents Adam with a plan for the future.

Don’t miss the final episode tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/13/14

Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away, and I’m already plotting my Black Friday shopping strategy, noting which stores have great deals on TV-on-Blu-ray releases I want to add to my collection. However, before I add more things to my To-Watch list, I should probably concentrate on clearing my TiVo backlog—I have at least 10 shows with 3 or more episodes piled up, and the free space is dwindling! I look forward to the long Thanksgiving weekend in a couple of weeks, when I’ll have extra time to catch up (or make those tough cuts). But in the meantime, here are some suggestions to help you fill your own DVRs…

parenthood1113smallParenthood is coming down the final stretch—there are just 6 episodes left! Last week was about people realizing they may not be better off splitting from their spouse. Joel had given up hope of reconciling with Julia—he agreed to give her the house and be done with it all. He was ready to sign his divorce papers when Zeek told him to fight for his daughter, so Joel went back to Julia and declared his intentions. Meanwhile, Hank apologized to his ex-wife, telling her about his Asperger’s and admitting that their marital problems were all his fault. This seemed to spark some old feelings in Sandy, who now wanted to spend more time reconciling and reconnecting with her ex and their daughter as a family, leaving Sarah feeling like the odd woman out. And elsewhere, Amber decided to test her skills as a future parent by babysitting Max and Nora, which was a big wake-up call as to what she was in for.

Will Joel and Julia get back together, or is she ready to move on with her relationship with her boyfriend? While I think that Joel and Julia should fix their marriage, the show has made her boyfriend such a nice guy that it’s a very difficult situation! And speaking of people getting back together, does Sarah have to worry about Sandy stealing Hank from her? And last week, it almost seemed like Zeek recognized his impending mortality when he was trying to bond with Drew—will he survive the next 6 episodes?!

On tonight’s episode, “Aaron Brownstein Must Be Stopped,” Max experiences heartache, which leads him to wage a propaganda campaign against a classmate. Meanwhile, financial troubles leave Crosby with a sense of defeat and propel Jasmine to get a new job; and Ruby exploits her father’s trust.

Check out the familial drama tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching (but mostly just recording) The Big Bang Theory, The McCarthys, Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Bad Judge, A to Z, Bones, Gracepoint, White Collar, and Covert Affairs.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/16/14

I’m excited for this weekend, as I’ll be heading to Orlando for the annual Syfy Digital Press Tour. This is the first time I’ll be attending this event when there isn’t a set visit involved, but it sounds like they’ve got plenty of other fun activities planned in addition to hearing from the cast and creators of many of Syfy’s exciting new shows that will be coming later this year and next. But we’ve still got a couple more days before the weekend, and also that means another batch of TV recommendations…

parenthood1016smallLast week’s Parenthood was another emotion-filled episode as Zeek went in for heart surgery. As the family anxiously awaited the results of the operation in the waiting room, Amber went on a road trip with Drew to tell Ryan about the baby. Even though Ryan seemed all on board to be a father, Amber had to make the tough decision to break things off with him. Meanwhile, Sarah tried to bond with Hank’s daughter Ruby, but when Sarah saw her shoplifting at the store, she didn’t know what to do. Also, Crosby and Adam fought over how to handle a disastrous situation that threatened the future of the recording studio, and Julia finally told Joel that she was seeing someone else.

I originally just wanted Julia and Joel to get back together, but they went and made her new boyfriend a likaeable, great guy, and now I’m torn. This series always does a great job of pulling at your heart strings, and it was a tense and emotionally charged time last week with the family in the waiting room. Being its final season, this is a show that could have easily killed off Zeek last week—I still have my doubts he’ll survive the series, but it’s good to see the Braverman clan intact for a little while longer. I also suspect that Ryan will be back in Amber’s life before the end of the series.

On tonight’s episode, “A Potpourri of Freaks,” Max forms an intimate new friendship. Elsewhere, Sarah encounters Sandy and tries to understand the role she plays in Ruby’s life; Hank deals with a diplomacy challenge; Julia and Joel worry that their separation is having an adverse effect on their kids; and Crosby tries to avoid a crisis by going after Oliver.

Check out all the drama tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Bad Judge, A to Z, Bones, and Gracepoint.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/25/14

There have been so many new and returning shows this week that it’s already starting to get tough to keep up with everything! And tonight, there’s five more returning/new shows, including the new Must Shonda TV Thursday lineup on ABC. So check out which of these shows we’re recommending you watch tonight.

Kyle’s Choice

parenthood925smallTonight, Parenthood returns to NBC for the start of its 13-episode final season. When we last saw the Braverman clan, Ryan has been discharged from the Army and left Amber to go back home to Wyoming. However, we saw Amber with a pregnancy test. Sarah and Hank kissed and seemed to finally be willing to explore a relationship. There also seemed to be a glimmer of hope that Julia and Joel might get back together. Meanwhile, Haddie came home from school and came out to the family; Zeek and Camille sold the family home; and Kristina and Adam were building a new school for Max and other marginalized kids like him.

Parenthood is such a well-written drama that knows how to deliver the emotion. It will be sad once this season is over and we won’t be able to spend time each week with the Bravermans. However, I’m really glad the creators have gone into this final season knowing these are the last 13 episodes and can write to a satisfying conclusion.

On tonight’s episode, “Vegas,” Sarah and Zeek head to Las Vegas to celebrate Zeek’s birthday as the sixth season opens. Elsewhere, Amber deals with adulthood and new life changes; and Adam and Kristina face the pressure of having their charter school ready in time for opening.

See the beginning of the end tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Bones, and Haven.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/13/12

How was your Monday? Mine was good…but COLD. I froze all freakin day. I hate turning on the heater in the house because it gets me too hot and gives me a headache, so once hubby got home from work, he grabbed the space heater and hooked it up for me. I can control it easily that way. But still…winter is definitely on its way! Now, here’s what we think you should be watching tonight as you curl up and try to stay warm. 😉

Jenny’s Choice

Last week’s part one of a two-part NCIS: LA was great. I loved seeing them figure out the books helped make up the cipher. Eric jealous of Nell being out in the middle of the night, looking like she woke up with sex hair, was fantastic. I love the two of them. And of course, we have Deeks and Kensi. Deeks is just about my favorite character on a drama right now on television. I adore him to no end. He always cracks me up—like he did during the dog show. At the end of part one, the team found the bomb (& how creepy was it when the guy said yes, he would have detonated it?). Now they know they have a list of sleeper agents and that there is a bomb with each of them in major cities across the country. Tonight is part two…and I’m looking forward to seeing how they deal with it. (This would have been perfect to be a cross-over episode with NCIS or Criminal Minds, in my opinion…but whatever. 😉 )

On tonight’s episode, “Rude Awakenings, Part 2,” the team continues their investigation behind the death of a CIA agent that leads to a dangerous ring of Russian super agents. In a race against time, Sam risks having a secret exposed.

See how the team finds & stops all the sleeper agents tonight on CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Flashpoint, Raising Hope, NCIS, Vegas, Happy Endings, The New Normal, Dancing with the Stars, Ben and Kate, Chopped, Total Blackout, Covert Affairs, Chef Race: U.K. vs U.S., & Sons of Anarchy.
