grandfathered929smallI’m excited for tonight’s premiere of Grandfathered on FOX. John Stamos is back on TV in the role of successful restaurateur and ladies’ man Jimmy Martino. He’s suave, handsome, and loves living the life of a popular bachelor…until a young man shows up out of the blue at his restaurant, claims he’s Jimmy’s son, and then introduces Jimmy to his daughter – Jimmy’s granddaughter – Edie. First Jimmy has to decide if he’ll actually let his son and granddaughter into his life, and then he has to learn how to become someone less selfish with a family.

I’ve seen tonight’s pilot and really enjoyed it. Stamos is a lot of fun (and still as sexy as ever), and Josh Peck is great as Gerald, Jimmy’s son. And I loved seeing Paget Brewster (from Criminal Minds) as Gerald’s mother.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” a successful bachelor named Jimmy is shocked when he finds out that not only does he have an adult son, but also a granddaughter.

Meet Jimmy, Gerald, & Edie tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, The Grinder, NCIS: NOLA, Chopped, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, & Limitless.

ncisla511smallOn the last new NCIS: LA, a former Marine and expert sniper…escaped from the VA hospital, where he was being treated for severe PTSD, after beating up his nurse and an orderly. Both men ended up being okay, but when Kensi & Deeks went in undercover at the hospital, they learned that the guy was taking unauthorized, illegal drugs…basically so he would be compliant to the people who’d given him the drug. They raced to find him, and Kensi was able to shoot at him and hit him just right so he couldn’t do the assassination the bad guys had set him up to do. In the end, they got him back to the hospital and he was off the drug and reunited with his wife and daughter, back on track to healing and finding peace. It was a great episode for Kensi, given her sniper background and Afghanistan. Hetty had some confidence that she’d be okay, but Granger wasn’t as sure of her. Thankfully, Hetty was right.

Tonight we revisit Arkady and the ship from a couple of episodes ago. That should be fun. And with only one episode left after tonight’s, I’m hoping we see movement on the Deeks/LAPD IA story line!

On tonight’s episode, “Kolcheck A.,” Callen and Sam search for answers when they find dead crew members from the missing oil tanker used in Arkady’s deal with Russia, and also discover Arkady’s personal connection to the ship.

Learn about Arkady’s connection to the ship tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, & Castle.

gotham54smallTonight, the first season of Gotham comes to a close. Last week, Gordon and Bullock continued their search for the psychopath known as the Ogre, who had kidnapped and chained up Barbara. During his search for Barbara, Gordon was forced to make a deal with the Penguin and agreed to owe him a favor. When Bullock and Gordon finally did track down the Ogre, Gordon took the kill shot. Meanwhile, Penguin set up an attack on Maroni, making it look like it came from Falcone, fanning the flames for a huge mob war; Kristen walked in on Ed Nygma while he was disposing of Doughtery’s chopped-up body — fortunately the head was not around or she would have realized it was her missing boyfriend; and Bruce learned the truth about Wayne Enterprises — that it was full of deceit and corruption…and that his father knew about it.

So how will this season come to an end? Who will fall victim to the full-scale mob war that’s about to break out? And who will rise to rule over what’s left afterwards? Is Gordon going to get back with Barbara? He still seemed to have some feelings for her last week — so much so that he made a deal with the Penguin. And speaking of that, will the Penguin call in his chip? Will Bruce figure out what his father was hiding, and will it help him clean up the company? I’m looking forward to an exciting finale that will likely leave us anxious for the second season!

On tonight’s episode, “All Happy Families Are Alike,” the Gotham City gang war reaches its boiling point with Fish Mooney battling Maroni and Penguin. In other events, Barbara and Leslie Thompkins are brought together; and Bruce searches Wayne Manor for any clues as to what his father might have left behind.

Catch the exciting season finale tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Castle, Gotham, The Following, Jane the Virgin, Bates Motel, The Returned, and Turn.

ncisla330smallLast week on NCIS: LA, sure, there was a case, but the bigger revelation was that Deeks is being investigated by Internal Affairs at the LAPD. Now, I have a huge complaint about that, given how little he’s actually worked with them the last six years. Why, all of a sudden, are they investigating him? What in the world could they suddenly have that needs investigating? On the actual case front, it was actually really interesting. FBI agents had set up a sting on a terrorist group that was buying explosives, but after they stopped them from driving away, their van blew up with three FBI agents inside it. NCIS was supposed to find out if the explosives were bad, but after learning more, they were tasked with figuring out who was behind the attack. It turned out to be a man whose nephew had been sent to prison for trying to blow up his school, but he blamed the FBI for recruiting the kid in the first place. In the end, the team was, of course, able to save the day. Kensi and Deeks spent the episode apart, with Deeks paired with Callen and Kensi paired with Sam. They thought it was because Hetty had found out about their relationship, but really it had more to do with the woman following them — the IA detective from LAPD. Hopefully the show isn’t setting it up so Deeks is somehow dirty. That would REALLY piss me off…

On tonight’s episode, “Blaze of Glory,” when a missile test is hijacked and sent off course, the team searches for the hacking group responsible for the attack with the help of a young computer specialist Hetty brings in to assist the team. Also, Nell sees the bond between the tech guru and Eric and she becomes jealous. (Maybe we’ll finally learn more about the vacation Eric went on with Nell to her family’s house at Christmas, huh??)

See if the team can find the hacking hijackers tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Scorpion, Food Fortunes, & Castle.

ncisla39smallIt’s been a couple of weeks since the last NCIS: LA, and it was kind of a sad one. Thapa — the Nepali soldier they’d worked with before who’d given Deeks advice that led to him back away from Kensi slightly — returned, intent on grabbing a woman contracted by the CIA, but when someone shot at them as they were facing off — nearly killing Sam — Thapa said it wasn’t his man, so suddenly they had to work together to figure out who wanted the woman dead…and if not her, then find who it was they’d been aiming for. The team figured out the woman the CIA was bringing into the US was spying for her country, rather than coming to the US for safety and to give them all the info they needed on the nukes her country had. There was a great ninja fight at the hospital, and in the end, Thapa was killed as he saved Sam. It turned out the gunman from the beginning of the episode had been aiming for him. I felt horrible for Deeks especially, because he honestly considered the man a friend (or as close to a friend as their positions would allow). On a good note, Thapa had given Deeks advice again about Kensi, and because of that, Kensi & Deeks ended the episode a little bit calmer than they’d started. (Although they started together in bed, and that’s never a bad thing! LOL) But things were touch-and-go with Sam for a while. Thankfully he was going to be okay.

On tonight’s episode, “Savoir Faire,” while the team investigates the death of one of three Afghanistan soldiers who are training in the U.S., they discover two other soldiers are missing and must find them before they’re forced to reveal classified military operations to their captors. Also, Sam is back to work but his team worries it may be too soon, and Callen realizes he has very little in common with his partner.

See more funny banter between Sam and Callen tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Scorpion, & Food Fortunes.
