Tonight, Young & Hungry returns to Freeform to kick off the second half of its fifth/final season, with back-to-back episodes. After nearly five years of their will they/won’t they/on again/off again relationship, when we last left off, Gabi & Josh finally officially became a couple. It seemed like this was never going to happen – especially when in the midseason finale, Josh bumped his head and got amnesia, and Gabi had to recreate their first date in order to jog his memory.

I have really enjoyed this series over the years and am looking forward to seeing what the show does with these final 10 episodes. Will we ultimately get an engagement or wedding by the end…or will the couple just find some new obstacle to keep them apart? Now that Josh and Gabi are together, will Gabi still work as his chef? Will they move in together? How would that affect Josh’s other employees, Elliot & Yolanda, and Gabi’s roommate Sofia? There are a lot of fun stories they could tell now that these two are together, and I can’t wait to see what the writers have come up with.

On the first half of tonight’s premiere, “Young & Downton Gabi,” Elliot and Yolanda worry about how their work lives will change now that Josh and Gabi are a couple; Gabi asks Josh to spend more time at her apartment, but Josh is horrified when he learns how messy Gabi is. Then, in “Young & Third Wheel,” Josh sets Sofia up with his dentist, but after the two hit it off, Gabi isn’t so sure he’s the right one for her friend; Elliot turns to Yolanda for help in reigniting the spark between him and Alan.

Check out the double-episode premiere tonight on Freeform starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Reverie, MasterChef, Yellowstone, and The Expanse.

young&hungry819smallTonight, the ABC Family comedy Young & Hungry returns for the second half of its second season. When we last left off, Gabi found out that Josh had been keeping the fact that he had feelings for her a secret for the past 3 months and that Cooper had also lied to cover this up. So as Cooper and Josh (literally) fought over Gabi, she decided she couldn’t take it anymore and didn’t want either one of them. She eventually made her peace with both guys, and when Josh asked her for a second chance to take her out on a date, she thought about it. However, when Gabi was offered an apprenticeship with a chef in Switzerland, she took it, leaving Josh a goodbye message on his cell phone.

So how will things have changed when Gabi returns from her internship? Will she go back to working with Josh? Will she decide to give him that date he asked for? Or have either or both of them already moved on and found someone else? I’m looking forward to more fun episodes of the series, but I hope this show doesn’t drag on the “will they or won’t they?” as long as Melissa & Joey did!

On tonight’s episode, “Young & How Gabi Got Her Job Back,” Gabi returns from Switzerland and gets a new job with Josh’s neighbor. Before long, Josh worries that his neighbor is attracted to Gabi, so he resorts to snooping on them.

See what happens when Josh spies on Gabi tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Celebrity Wife Swap, MasterChef, Kevin From Work, The Jim Gaffigan Show, Impastor, Flipping Out, Suits, Mr. Robot, and Twinning.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/25/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

youngandhungry325smallOne of my favorite new comedies last year was ABC Family’s Young & Hungry. Emily Osment plays Gabi, a young chef who applies to be the personal chef to Josh Kaminski, a dot com whiz and self-made millionaire, played by Jonathan Sadowski. During season one, we watched as Gabi quickly developed feelings for Josh, who was engaged to a rather vapid woman. At the end of the season, Josh realized he had feelings for Gabi as well *just in time* to cancel his wedding, but when he went to her apartment to confess those feelings, he saw through the window as Gabi and her ex-boyfriend, Cooper, reunited. Fade to black, that’s how the season ended. It was frustrating as all get-out for us Josh and Gabi shippers! LOL

This season picks up pretty much where season one ended. Jesse McCartney is back as Cooper for several episodes, so it’ll be interesting to see where and how far they take things with Gabi and Cooper. Also returning this season are Aimee Carrero as Gabi’s roommate and best friend Sofia, Kym Whitley as housekeeper Yolanda, and Rex Lee as personal assistant Elliot. I loved Yolanda and Rex, who were both hysterical last season, so I’m glad they’re back!

On tonight’s episode, “Young & Too Late,” Gabi is freaking out about why Josh called the wedding off and searches for a sign if she should be with him or Cooper (recurring guest star Jesse McCartney), but it’s Sofia who makes a surprising discovery. Meanwhile, Elliot has a big date with the wedding florist (guest star Miguel Pinzon) and ends up bringing a forlorn Josh along.

To see how uncomfortable things can get between Gabi & Josh, tune in to ABC Family at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Mysteries of Laura, The Goldbergs, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Mystery Diners, black-ish, Best New Restaurant, Chicago PD, CSI: Cyber (one of my favorite episodes of the season so far!), Hot in Cleveland, & The Soul Man.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/27/14

Well, we’re all still sick. Fun stuff. I feel like, well, poo, so let’s just get to it, shall we? Megan’s power went out Tuesday night when a storm knocked out some wires, so here’s what Kyle & I are recommending.

Jenny’s Choice

motive2014asmallI picked Motive last week, and it turned out to be a great episode. The case was interesting—a professor/wannabe writer killed an author who was responsible for turning down his submitted manuscript. He used chemistry to make a poison that he then inserted into the victim’s perfume when he broke into her house. Without meaning to, he set up the husband when it turned out not only the author was killed, but her lover got sick from exposure as well—dying a slower, yet painful death. Then the killer tried to set up a student of his who was a huge fan of the author’s, but the police were able to determine who really killed her—and justice was honestly served when it turned out he’d exposed himself to the poison and was dying. Meanwhile, Angie was struggling with the fact that she was subpoenaed to testify against Cross, and Vega knew just what she needed and set it up so her son surprised her with a visit.

Tonight is the season finale, and I’m anxious to see what’s going to happen with the trial. There’s no show without Angie Flynn, so she can’t get fired, but how does she make it out of and still keep her detective position? Will Cross be back next season? So many questions!

On tonight’s episode, “For You I Die,” with the League of Nations trial nearing, a major case from Detective Flynn and Sergeant Cross’s past resurfaces, and the fallout causes anguish for both. Meanwhile, the latest case involving the murder of a prosecutor becomes personal for Cross, and Angie knows they must come clean about their past. Kenny Johnson (who’s been on what seems like everything… lol) guest stars.

To see how the trial goes for Det. Flynn & Sgt. Cross tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Penn & Teller: Fool Us, So You Think You Can Dance, Young & Hungry, Mystery Girls, America’s Got Talent, Property Brothers, Restaurant Stakeout, Rowhouse Showdown, Legends, Hot in Cleveland, Taxi Brooklyn, Mystery Diners, Top Chef Duels, & Wahlburgers.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 7/23/14

Having a job you love is so satisfying. Especially when you go there from one you really kind of hate. I’m in that position right now, and I feel so lucky. I just had to share that. *grin* I’m also lucky because there’s some great TV on tonight. Kyle’s busy getting ready for Comic-Con, so Megan & I are here to give you our recommendations.

Jenny’s Choice #1

young&hungry723smallI tend not to stick with shows on ABC Family I start, but so far, I’m really, really enjoying Young & Hungry & Mystery Girls. On Young & Hungry, there’s so much chemistry between Gabi & Josh. I’m loving seeing Emily Osment in something after Hannah Montana. Last week, Gabi thought she was pregnant, so she took a pregnancy test while there at work at Josh’s apartment. Okay, first, what the heck? Why in the world didn’t she just take it at home? Either before work or after? But I know for the story line’s sake, she couldn’t. LOL When the box was found in the trash, they assumed it was Caroline’s, and Josh was thrilled. When he realized it wasn’t her, but Gabi, he privately told her that he’d have supported her if it had turned out to be positive. I really want them together, darnit. They’re just too cute!

On tonight’s episode, “Young & Younger,” Sofia encourages Gabi to start dating again in the hopes she’ll move on from Josh. But Josh takes an immediate dislike to Gabi’s new guy, Cam (guest star Nick Roux, Pretty Little Liars), leaving Gabi confused about their relationship. And when Josh seems to discover some surprising news about Cam, Gabi refuses to believe him, which leads her to learn even more surprising news about Cam. Meanwhile, Elliot tries a little too hard to fit in with Josh’s programmer friends.

See Josh get jealous tonight and how he & Gabi come to terms with it tonight on ABC Family at 8/7c.
