Chuck Lorre Hints at The Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon Crossover

The Big Bang Theory may potentially be looking to end its series, but Young Sheldon is still very much in its infancy and already enjoying a lot of success. The original series is the no.1 comedy in terms of viewership, while Young Sheldon is the no.1 new comedy. The problem with a crossover is the 30-year time difference between the two shows. So it would be a tricky task indeed to transport characters from a small Texas town three decades earlier to modern-day Pasadena. That doesn’t mean that adult versions of Young Sheldon characters couldn’t show up at all, of course.

Lorre says no

Being a spinoff show, Young Sheldon has a lot to thank its predecessor for, so it would be a treat to see a crossover between the two series before The Big Bang Theory drifts off into the sunset. Chuck Lorre, creator of both shows, had previously insisted that a crossover would be unlikely to happen. Fans shouldn’t be too surprised to see some of their favourite Young Sheldon characters make the occasional appearance in Pasadena, however.

The Casino On The Small Screen – The Most Memorable Gambling Scenes in Television

Over the years, the casino and gambling in general have featured in a wide array of television series, appearing in various titles, from cult classics such as Friends to animated fan favourite The Simpsons. This is partly because the world of gambling is extremely easy to incorporate into most scenarios and the fact that the pastime is often both peculiar and exhilarating in equal measure means that it translates to the small screen incredibly well. With that being said, there are dozens of examples of TV series dedicating entire episodes to gambling and the casino. Below are eight of our favourite scenes which serve to illustrate the added value that gambling has when incorporated properly.

The Simpsons

It’s possible that The Simpsons has referenced gambling and the casino more than any other animated show, which would make sense, as it’s the longest running series of its kind. From the very first episode, where Homer rescues Santa’s Little Helper from the greyhound track to Homer and Ned being tricked into getting married in Las Vegas, there have been a number of classic moments relating to the casino, but the episode that perfectly encapsulates everything good, bad, or indifferent about gambling is Season 5 Episode 10. The aptly named “How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Legalise Gambling” is intended to be a satirical look at Las Vegas, focusing on the panic which sweeps Springfield when plans for a casino to be built within the town are approved.

Desperate Housewives Would Be a Huge Hit if Revived

Source: Desperate Housewives via Twitter

Desperate Housewives is one of the best-loved and most successful American comedy-drama series of the 21st century. It ran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012 and is still on reruns in several countries around the world. The comedy-drama and mystery series followed the lives of a group of married women and their daily successes, trials, and tribulations as seen through the eyes of their late friend and neighbour – thus the name Desperate Housewives.

The show had some well-known and talented cast, including Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross, and one of them recently admitted that they would love to see the revival of the series. Eva Longoria, who played the role of Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, has been quoted by E!News as saying that she misses everything about the show and is very open to it being revived. The 42-year-old American actress did admit that it is unlikely that there will be a Season 9 of Desperate Housewives on the television screens, but fans of the show must now be more optimistic than ever about the revival of the series.

Ultimate Fighter Finale – Fights To Look Forward To!

December 1st is when it all goes down, the finale of the Ultimate Fighter 26, where the bout for the inaugural UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship is set to take place. Starting from 16 fighters, it’s been whittled down to three with a surprise underdog confirmed and one more fight left before the finale is announced. With that in mind, we’re going to walk you through the contenders and a few fights on the card that might be worth having a look at.

First things first, the Cinderella story of Nicco Montaño. Entering Ultimate Fighter as the 14th seed, Montaño was most definitely an underdog at the start of the contest. She got her start young, learning to box, but switched to BJJ later in life (in fact, it’d be interesting to think what her boxing odds would have been if she’d stuck with the “Sweet Science” instead of making the shift to MMA). Her record going in was nothing amazing, but she won her first few rounds and finally wound up facing Barb Honchak.

Honchak was seeded 2nd, second only to Roxanne Modafferi, and had just two losses out of 12 professional fights going in. It sounded like a forgone conclusion, but Montaño shocked just about everyone with an incredible fight and a unanimous decision by Round 3. With great takedowns, outstanding ground and pound, and some well-timed knees, Montaño secured the win and is set to face the winner of the next fight Friday December 1st.

That final deciding fight is between Roxanne Modafferi and Sijara Eubanks. Modafferi has an impressive record and competed earlier in Season 18. She’s keen to make up for her prior performance and has won both her fights thus far with a TKO. It’s also worth noting that she’s the 1st seed for this content and a strong favourite. Sijara Eubanks, her opponent, was seeded No. 12 and has struggled to keep her weight at Flyweight levels, but she also has the only KO victory of Series 26 thus far. Tempting as it is to think Modafferi has it in the bag, Sijara’s strong performance and with Montaño’s upset over Honchak in mind, the outcome of the fight still looks unclear.

Whoever wins, though, if Montaño can maintain her momentum, this finale is going to be an incredible show, and the Flyweight Champion who comes out of it is definitely going to be one to watch.

Leading up to the fight, we have four matches with two in particular standing out. Andrew “El Dirte” Sanchez VS Ryan Janes is looking like a great match up between a heavy striker and winner of the Ultimate Fighter 23 versus a skilled technical fighter with plenty of submissions under his belt. The other is Joe Soto VS Brett “The Pikey” Johns. Soto has plenty of experience and two bantam weight championships from different competitors under his belt, while Johns has an unbeaten record of 14 wins and a different two bantamweight championship belts, putting him and Soto on equal footing.

Whoever ends up facing Montaño, and whoever wins that belt, you can be sure the fight’s going to be outstanding!

Recap/Review – Dragon’s Den – 08/15/17

Dragon’s Den first aired back in 2005 and has since contributed 15 series of investment entertainment to the world. In the most recent episode, five investors pitch their ideas to the Dragons, with ideas ranging from gluten-free cakes to colorful pocket squares. The judges decide on who to invest in based on the product, the numbers, and the people. It’s all or nothing in the cut-throat business world!

It must be a daunting prospect to enter the realm of seriously successful investors and come under their scrutiny, but that is exactly what each entrepreneur must do if they are to secure the cash and assistance they need to carry their business to the next level. The odds of becoming rich are not great, but with a Dragon on your side, they are pretty much guaranteed.

The first entrepreneur to enter the Den was Australian Sarah Hilary with her “Be Tempted” range of gluten-free cakes. She came prepared with a temptress whose role it was to hand out snacks and wink at the Dragons to sweeten them up. Sarah presented a pretty classic story: She went gluten-free but couldn’t find enough delicious cakes on the market, so she made her own. We’ve heard it all before, and so had the Dragons, but did her numbers add up and would they be willing to invest £75,000 for just 5% of her business?

Hilary stumbled and fumbled over her figures; never a good move in the Den. Despite outlining a £500,000 turnover since 2012 and describing her connections with high-end stores like Harrods, she stuttered when asked to share her gross profits, and it quickly became obvious that her £1.5 million valuation of the business simply didn’t add up.

That was enough to turn off most of the Dragons, who couldn’t see an opportunity to make their money back and weren’t satisfied with the overvaluation and lack of business strategy. Tej Lalvani picked up the pieces of her shattered pitch, offering the full amount of money but demanding 40% of her business. The pair settled with a 10% buy-back, and the first deal of the day was made!
