chicagopd210smallI love when get crossovers on NBC with the Chicago-based shows, and it’s fun when Law & Order: SVU is included. Tonight, it’s Chicago PD (my favorite of the Chicago series) that the New York City show is paired with. Dallas Roberts is back. He plays the deliciously evil Gregory Yates, who kidnapped and murdered a BUNCH of women, including Nadia on Chicago PD last season. They, along with the detectives from New York, helped catch him, and he was convicted of murder and put in prison. So why is he back? He’s escaped. Eek. It should be a fun ride as they attempt to catch him again in the back-to-back crossover episodes.

On tonight’s Law & Order: SVU episode, “Nationwide Manhunt,” Erin Lindsay and Antonio Dawson join the SVU team in the hunt for two escaped murderers they helped to convict. Dallas Roberts, Jefferson Mays, Sophia Bush, and Jon Seda guest star.

Then on the Chicago PD episode, “The Song of Gregory William Yates,” Intelligence learns that Yates intends to flee New York and is headed for Chicago. The SVU team informs them that Yates has been gathering information on Lindsay, and after Platt calls in a triple homicide likely at the hand of Yates, Benson and Fin catch the next plane to Chicago. Dallas Roberts, Mariska Hargitay, and Ice-T guest star.

Don’t miss either episode of exciting action tonight on NBC starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, The Mysteries of Laura, The Goldbergs, Mike & Molly, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Property Brothers, Hell’s Kitchen, black-ish, Code Black, & Restaurant Startup.

themuppets29smallLast week, art imitated life as The Muppets returned from hiatus, and “Up Late with Miss Piggy” was a on a mission to reinvent itself after a new brand executive was hired to try to fix the show (which wasn’t even broken in the first place). This started with making Piggy a little less abrasive and bringing more of the Muppets into the segments of her talk show. The end result for both the ABC series and the show within the show was that they were less focused on serious workplace drama and more geared toward just having fun. The episode ended with Kermit and Piggy singing a sweet duet as Denise watched jealously from the audience – so it looks like that whole publicized break-up may be coming to an end as well.

I never had any issues with the original incarnation of this series. I thought it was a fun, fresh take. I wasn’t really a fan of last week’s episode. It seemed like it was trying a bit too hard to appeal to a younger demographic, with Piggy dressing up like Miley Cyrus and twerking. However, I’m happy to say that they have eased back a bit in tonight’s episode, which I enjoyed a lot more. While I didn’t think the show needed a change – except to bring on Walter; where is he?! – but if these slight tweaks increase viewership and get the series a second season, then I’m all for it.

On tonight’s episode, “A Tail of Two Piggies,” a wardrobe malfunction involving Miss Piggy creates a scandal that could ruin her career, but Kermit and the crew come together to defend her honor. Meanwhile, Pepe and Rizzo throw a party for Gonzo to lift his spirits when he misses his ex-girlfriend.

Check out My Piggy’s wardrobe malfunction tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Limitless, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Hollywood Game Night, New Girl, Grandfathered, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Grinder, The Flash, iZombie, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, Pitch Slapped, Teen Wolf, and The Shannara Chronicles.

lucifer28smallI was quite skeptical when I first heard about the new show Lucifer, but after watching the first two episodes, I can say that I am pleasantly surprised. There are many reasons why this show works for me, including the incredible sexy leading man and the fact that it’s a procedural with a twist, but at the end of the day it’s simply an entertaining new show to spice up my regular television landscape.

On the last episode, Lucifer showed that while he has no issue with people sinning, he takes great offense to people using God’s word and hell to scare people into donating money, which is why he scared the crap out of a guy doing just that on the street. I admit I giggled, because there’s nothing worse than a hypocrite. Chloe has been working on trying to figure out who Lucifer really is and why he didn’t exist up until 5 years ago – the idea that he really is THE Lucifer is just too far-fetched for her, I suppose. The case of the week involved a paparazzo who was accused of murder and confessed, but Chloe didn’t believe he did it, and neither did Lucifer. This sent them on a wild-goose chase to find the actual killer, which they did in the end. Although Chloe had to step in to stop Lucifer’s little game of Russian roulette between Nick and his protégé, Josh, who Nick was taking the fall for, where they try to shoot each other, only there were no bullets in Josh’s gun. In the midst of it, Chloe showed up, and Lucifer realized he was wrong and used brother Amenadiel because he knew that his arrival would slow time down just enough for Lucifer to step in and grab the bullet from Nick’s gun midair. Lucifer then realizes that he is in fact changing, and it’s due to someone in his life: Chloe.

I’m really enjoying the building relationship between Lucifer and Chloe, but I’m curious to see how long they can play this Chloe not believing he’s the devil story, because after a while, she’s going to have to figure it out.

On tonight’s episode, “The Would-Be Prince of Darkness,” when a 22-year-old future superstar quarterback wakes up to find a dead girl floating in his swimming pool, he turns to his friend, Lucifer, for help. Lucifer enlists Chloe to investigate the case, which leads to the world of big-money sports and people who will literally kill to be number one.

To see if Chloe can help clear this quarterback’s name, tune in to FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Scorpion, Supergirl, Superstore, NCIS: LA, and Castle.

grimm129smallLast week, Grimm returned after a short winter break, and boy were there surprises! First, we gotta talk about the kiss. Nick and Adalind have great chemistry in my opinion, and I loved how they reacted to the kiss. They need to take it slow, though, and they seem to realize that. Of course, then there’s Juliette returning as Eve – and damn, she’s creepy when she uses her Wesen power, isn’t she? Creepy but effective. I’m not sure about Meisner. Does he have a “crush” on Adalind? I mean, I’m assuming he’s a good guy, that he’s playing for the good side, like “Eve” is now. But it’s all kinds of confusing. All I know is that Black Claw killed all but one of the Wesen Council and wants to get to Monroe. Poor Nick has his hands full!

On tonight’s episode, “A Reptile Dysfunction,” a local legend comes back to life as Nick and Hank investigate a mysterious sighting linked to a tourist’s death at a local lake. Rosalee’s past comes back to haunt her. Elsewhere, Capt. Renard continues to support a candidate for mayor. Meanwhile, Nick is shown the scope of the Wesen uprising as the secret government agency takes him into the heart of their Portland operations center.

To see more of what Black Claw is up to and what the “good guys” are doing about it, tune in to NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, American Diner Revival, Guy & Hunter’s European Vacation, & Burgers, Brew, & ’Que.

legendsoftomorrow24smallI’m really enjoying DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. It’s just a fun action superhero show that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Last week, the gang was still in 1975, where they infiltrated a nuclear-missile auction. However, Vandal Savage figured out who they were and offered the various villains in attendance a discount if they killed the Legends. A big battle broke out, and in the aftermath, part of the Atom’s suit was left behind. The group had to get this piece of future tech back ASAP in order to stop Savage from using the technology to create a massive weapon. While Stein, Sara, and Jax went looking for young Stein to borrow a device they could use to locate the missing piece of the suit, Heat Wave, Captain Cold, and Ray went to find an ancient dagger that had the power to kill Savage. By the end of the episode, the gang had another face-off with Savage, where Carter stabbed the villain with the dagger but unfortunately discovered that it only had the power to kill him if Kendra was the one who wielded it. Savage turned the dagger back on Carter, killing him, and then also wounded Kendra, but she and the rest of the group were able to get away to fight another day.

Where/when will the group head next, and what will their next plan to take down Savage involve? Will they jump ahead 20 years to pick up the next incarnation of Hawkman to join them once again, or is he really gone for good? There are so many fun combinations of these characters, and I look forward to seeing who they pair up for next week’s adventures.

On tonight’s episode, “Blood Ties,” Rip tries to weaken Vandal Savage by going after his financial assets. Rip and Sara infiltrate Savage’s bank but are discovered by his men. Meanwhile, Snart and Rory talk Jax into taking the jump ship back to Central City so they can steal a valuable emerald; and Professor Stein guides Ray on a dangerous mission.

Find out if Rip and Sara can escape Savage’s men tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Angel from Hell, Madoff, You, Me and the Apocalypse, The Blacklist, The 100, Baskets, Top Chef, Recipe for Deception, Workaholics, and Idiotsitter.
