bones611smallLast week on Bones, Booth, Brennan, and the squints had to try to find the murderer of an ex-con and biker gang member turned yoga instructor. He’d been in a motorcycle crash, which meant he couldn’t ride as often or as long as he used to, and after that and prison, he’d turned his life around. Unfortunately for him, his newfound generosity is what got him killed — when he decided to help a fellow ex-con and biker gang member who was trying to make a fresh start and needed money, the victim’s girlfriend and co-owner of the yoga studio killed him. On the personal side of things, Booth is working hard to stay “sober” and earn Brennan’s trust back, and it’s working… She is slowly thawing. And Angela and Hodgins made the decision that they were going to leave the Jeffersonian and move to Paris.

Tonight is the season finale, and I’m very unhappy about that. So many questions… Will Brennan finally forgive Booth and ask him to move back home? Will Angela and Hodgins actually leave the Jeffersonian? Surely not. The show will be back next season, and I can’t imagine it without any members of the team. (I have seen the finale, so I know what happens with all the characters, and I will only say that it’s a great — and surprising — finale.)

On tonight’s episode, “The Next in the Last,” when the Jeffersonian team discovers remains of a victim, and elements of the crime scene point to a possible protégé of serial killer Christopher Pelant, they must revisit their prior work on Pelant while tracing new clues that will hopefully lead them to the copycat killer. Meanwhile, Angela is skeptical about Hodgins’ and her decision to move to Paris and Brennan and Booth contemplate options outside of the Jeffersonian and FBI.

Find out if/how Pelant is tied to the new victim and what Angela/Hodgins & Booth/Brennan decide tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Beat Bobby Flay.

babydaddy610smallLast week’s summer premiere of Baby Daddy opened with Riley hiding out in New Jersey at her parents’ house, trying to avoid dealing with the Wheeler brothers. Ben tried to convince Riley they could still be friends and that she should move back to the city, but she told him she was contemplating relocating to Buffalo. Meanwhile, Evelyn, the woman who lived in the apartment across from Ben’s, passed away. Bonnie tried to impress Evelyn’s granddaughter Ashley in order to get the apartment listing and even resorted to pimping out Danny after she discovered Ashley was a fan. The two really hit it off and started dating. Back in Jersey, in a Say Anything-style move, Ben used Emma to convince Riley to come back — and she moved into the newly-vacated apartment.

This half of the season should bring some awkward moments, with Danny dating again and Riley now living right across the hall. Will these two ever get together? Will the show try to pair up Riley and Ben again? Or will we finally see Riley move on from the Wheelers and find a new guy?

On tonight’s episode, “It Takes a Village Idiot,” Emma’s babysitters feel unappreciated, so they go on strike, forcing Ben to bring Emma along on his dates and shifts at work. Meanwhile, Danny and Bonnie enroll in a cooking class with her favorite chef; and Tucker tells Riley to invent a fake boyfriend.

See how it goes with Emma at work and on dates with Ben on ABC Family at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Briefcase, Celebrity Wife Swap, MasterChef, and Melissa & Joey.

majorcrimes68smallTonight’s the season premiere of Major Crimes, and I’m so excited, given how last season ended. Phillip Stroh was back and in the process of signing a plea agreement, in which he would give up the names and locations of other victims, but I knew from the beginning of that story arc that something was hinky. The judge who was presiding over it was an old acquaintance of Stroh’s, so he wasn’t leery enough of the bad guy…and Stroh took advantage of that. Over the course of several visits, he kept dropping his pen (using the excuse of his handcuffed hands for the fumbling), requiring the judge to come around his desk and kneel down next to Stroh. But in the season finale, using the same “drop the pen” act, he killed the judge and escaped before anyone was the wiser. They got a manhunt going as soon as they figured it out, but they were unable to find him. That means Rusty is vulnerable once more. Speaking of Rusty… He’s turned into a great kid, and I really love his character.

Other notes about last season: Sharon and Finn seem to be dating without realizing it. Sharon finally divorced her ex, and then she formally adopted Rusty. Sanchez was nearly fired after his mother’s caretaker — who Sanchez realized was stealing from her and leaving her alone — was killed…after Sanchez beat the crap out of the guy. Instead, he was suspended and ordered to get help for his anger issues, and one of the things he decided was he would move home and be able to help with his mother more. And finally, although the SOB spinoff isn’t happening, Fritz Howard will be back during the new season.

On tonight’s episode, “A Rose is a Rose,” the squad investigates a double homicide related to an ongoing string of home invasions in the Hollywood Hills. Meanwhile, Sanchez attempts to reintegrate himself in the division after his suspension over a questionable use of force, while Captain Raydor makes a fateful choice in the life of her adopted son, Rusty.

Catch the drama and fun tonight on TNT at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, So You Think You Can Dance, Guilty Pleasures, & Murder in the First.

hotincleveland63smallThrough six seasons, I’ve enjoyed the stories and antics of Melanie, Joy, Victoria, and Elka on Hot in Cleveland. They started out as three women from L.A. who ended up living in Cleveland when their plane had to land there, and they discovered that they loved the attention (from men LOL ) they were getting. Because things weren’t going their way in L.A., they decided to stay, ending up renting a house that came with its own caretaker/roommate: Elka. There’s been love, heartbreak, and the friendship between all four of them has grown over the six seasons, and I’m very sad to see the show coming to an end tonight.

Going into the final episode, Joy and Bob are engaged. Will the wedding actually happen? Will Melanie and Victoria finally find love again? Will everyone stay in Cleveland, or will Melanie, Joy, and Victoria end up back in California? I’m sad to see it go, but I can’t wait to see what happens tonight!

On tonight’s extended finale, “Vegas, Baby/I Hate Goodbyes,” Joy and Bob’s wedding plans are derailed when they learn there is a baby available for adoption in Las Vegas; Victoria connects with a long-lost love.

Catch the 90-minute series finale and see how it all ends tonight on TV Land at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing MasterChef, Melissa & Joey, Brother vs Brother, Bullseye, Mystery Diners, & Craziest Restaurants in America.

stitchers62smallI’m not a fan of a lot of shows on ABC Family, but their latest, Stitchers, is definitely on the “must-watch” side. The show follows Kirsten (newcomer Emma Ishta), a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Working alongside Kirsten is Cameron (Kyle Harris, Carrie Diaries), a brilliant neuroscientist whose passion for the program is evident in his work. The secret program is headed by Maggie (Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Eureka), a skilled veteran of covert operations, and includes Linus (Ritesh Rajan, upcoming Jungle Book), a socially immature bioelectrical engineer and communications technician. Kirsten’s roommate, Camille (Allison Scagliotti, Warehouse 13), a gifted computer science grad student, is also recruited to use her skills to assist Kirsten in her new role as a “stitcher.”

I’ve seen the first two episodes, and it’s really fantastic. Kirsten reminds me of Brennan on Bones, in that her sense of humor is…well…pretty much nonexistent. That in and of itself is funny. But it also makes the surrounding cast important, and thankfully, that’s not a problem. I adore Cameron (like, huge new TV crush), Linus is extremely funny, Camille is fun and interesting (and I absolutely love Allison Scagliotti), and Salli Richardson-Whitfield is great as Kirsten’s new boss.

On tonight’s episode, “A Stitch in Time,” a young woman with a talent for technology joins a covert agency to solve crimes and mysteries by entering the minds of recently deceased individuals.

Don’t miss the premiere tonight on ABC Family at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Got Talent, Chrisley Knows Best, Hell’s Kitchen, Junk Food Flip, The Little Couple, Chopped, Royal Pains, Your Family or Mine, & I Can Do That.
