I’m so excited about tonight’s series premiere of Reverie. It comes from Mickey Fisher, the creator of Extant, and stars Sarah Shahi, whom I’ve loved in everything I’ve ever seen her in, like Person of Interest, Fairly Legal, & Life. She plays Mara Kint, a former hostage negotiator and expert on human behavior who endured a horrible tragedy in her personal life and quit the police force and became a college professor. But her former boss, Charlie Ventana (played by the incomparable Dennis Haysbert, from one of my favorite shows ever, The Unit, among others), recruits her to do what she does best in an entirely new way. He now works with a company that invented a highly advanced immersive virtual-reality program called Reverie, in which you can live out your wildest dreams. It’s so good that they’re finding some people don’t want to come back out from it, and if they stay, they’ll die. So she’s brought in to go in with them and convince them to come out.

It’s such a fun, cool premise. I’ve seen the pilot, and it isn’t surprising that Sarah Shahi rocks it. She’s brilliant in everything, and this is no exception. The cast also includes Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes, Covert Affairs), Jessica Lu (Awkward.), & Kathryn Morris (Cold Case).

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot/Apertus,” former hostage negotiator Mara Kint is hired by tech company Oniratech to save people who have lost themselves in a sophisticated virtual reality program called Reverie.

Step inside Reverie tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, MasterChef, & Brother vs Brother.

Last week’s NCIS: LA wasn’t one of my favorites, for several reasons. Mainly because it was basically an extension to a previous episode with little bits and pieces of new stuff thrown in. Nicole DeChamps, who recruited Sam into an undercover op dealing with Peruvian counterfeiter Alfonso Marca in the episode that tied into this one, was back. She had left the Secret Service and was now a member of NCIS in the San Diego office. (NCIS: San Diego just doesn’t have the same ring, does it? LOL) Turned out Marca’s sort-of daughter was killed in prison and NCIS was asked to determine whether or not she’d been assassinated or if it was just a regular prison killing.

The most interesting parts of the episode were the non-case stuff. Callen went to talk to Anna (for the first time since she shot Sokolov) when he was called by ATF to give his statement about what he saw or didn’t see at the time. Anna was clearly not happy that Callen hadn’t come to see her before then and told him to tell the truth, that Sokolov was already dead when he got there and he hadn’t seen anything. Things are not all right in the Anna/Callen relationship.

Tonight’s double-episode season finale should be interesting…mainly for Kensi & Deeks (given the preview, so I won’t spoil) and for Mosley, who gets the chance to rescue her son. I’m excited for that part!

On tonight’s episodes, “A Line in the Sand/Ninguna Salida,” Sam is shot during a firefight with a cartel, and a suspect reveals new information on the whereabouts of Spencer Williams, the man who kidnapped Mosley’s son five years ago. Despite several team members having grave reservations, NCIS travels to Mexico for a daring mission to locate and rescue Mosley’s son.

To see if the rescue mission is successful and where the team is left at the end of the season, tune in to CBS starting at 8/7c.

Last week’s Blindspot set up not only this week’s season finale but also some potentially huge changes for certain members of the team. We got to see a flashback to Jane and Roman as kids, when Shepherd pitted them against each other playing a game in order to determine who would do the chores (each loss meant another chore added to their list). Jane beat Roman every time until the last game, where she threw the game so he’d win. Shepherd knew what she’d done and punished Jane for it, making her do all the chores, telling her that Roman would never learn if she did that. Given what wonderful parenting Shepherd did when they were kids, it’s no wonder both Jane & Roman were effed up as adults!

The team worked together (using intel they gathered from Shepherd, who the CIA brought back for interrogation, and Lynette) to stop a bomb in the United Nations…only to figure out that the real targets were the leaders of two African countries who were coming together in a peace treaty of sorts against Crawford, who’d been trying to buy a pipeline from their countries. He wanted the pipeline rerouted to get to the land he’d purchased. So the team figured out the UN bombing was only a setup to get the African leaders out in the open so Roman could assassinate them. Jane & Weller got them out safely with only a few minor wounds, and they now have enough to arrest Crawford! Unfortunately, Zapata was caught on camera going back in and taking the phone one of the African leaders left in the building, and when she was confronted about it, she said Keaton (ie: the CIA) had told her to. Keaton once again showed his true colors and denied knowledge, and Zapata was then fired. That led to a close encounter with Reade in the locker room…including a kiss that sent Zapata scurrying away when it became too much for her…but then it turned into sexy timez at Reade’s apartment when Zapata showed up and said she just wanted to do what felt right.

The end was all about Roman and Jane: the tattoo database was suddenly working right again, meaning no more interference from Roman, and all that was left was a video Roman left Jane, saying he wanted to play One. More. Game. And that leads us into tonight’s season finale, where Jane (& the team, I’m assuming?) and Roman head home for the big showdown. Eek! (Oh, and the mysterious illness or whatever that Roman is suffering from is getting worse and worse, and Blake confronted Roman about his involvement with the bomb threat at the UN. Fun stuff!)

On tonight’s episode, “In Memory,” Jane and Weller hunt Roman back to where it all started…Can they stop him at last?

Catch the (final?) showdown between Jane and Roman tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing MasterChef: Junior & Hawaii Five-0.

The other night, I binge-watched 8 episodes of SEAL Team. For some reason, it built up on our DVR and I finally sat down to watch…and I couldn’t stop. I love this show. Last episode started exactly where the previous episode left off: with Jason and half the team going down in flames after their helicopter was hit with a SAM (surface-to-air missile). Thankfully all of the team themselves survived, although they lost the pilots – and, we came to learn late in the episode after a hurt Jason went searching for him on his own, their HVT, Nouri Halani, who lived for a while but then died from his injuries. Jason suffered a leg injury, which he took multiple shots of morphine for in order to go after Halani, and a bad concussion, which caused him to hallucinate several major conversations with one of the dead pilots – at one point, I thought he was seeing the guy as a younger version of himself, with his dad’s name, wife’s name, etc. In the end, the rest of the team was able to make it back to them, help stave off all the enemies who made their way to kill them, and take out the bunker that held the SAM, thereby letting the rescue helicopters finally make their way to the team. And I gotta say, it was awesome seeing Clay step up and take control before the rest of the team got back. He did a fantastic job!

Tonight is the season finale. Lots of story lines to watch out for… Jason is determined to find proof that Cutter is in bed with the Afghanis and behind the death of Echo Team. I can’t imagine much time has elapsed between the helicopter crash and tonight’s ep, so he won’t be over the concussion, which will make it hard for him to do what he feels like he needs to do. Then there’s the huge amount of chemistry we’ve seen lately between Clay and Davis, who are both feeling the pressures of deployment on their relationships with Stella and Danny. I love Clay and Stella, but even I can’t deny the connection he and Davis have had lately.

On tonight’s episode, “The Cost of Doing Business,” after Jason lies about the severity of his concussion to get cleared for combat, he and the SEAL Team plan a final mission to avenge Echo Team’s deaths once and for all before they return home from deployment.

See if Jason and his team can find out for sure who was behind Echo Team’s death and if they all make it home from deployment tonight on CBS at 9:01/8:01c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Goldbergs, Modern Family, American Housewife, & SciJinks.

Tonight, after 7 seasons, the FOX comedy New Girl finally comes to an end. Last week, Winston was anxious about becoming a father, so Jess tracked down his long-lost dad. However, after Winston bonded with this stranger, it turned out that Jess had found the wrong person. Meanwhile, Schmidt tried to go back to work, but being away from Ruth was not easy, and Cece realized just how much of a help Schmidt was at home. And Nick had his proposal all set, but his plans got messed up when he and Jess got a new dog. However, in the end, Nick realized that the situation was never going to be perfect and just went for it, proposing to Jess during an outdoor showing of an 80s rom-com in the park.

The series comes to a close with a really satisfying 1-hour finale. The first half of the finale gives us the wedding that’s been seven seasons in the making, but of course, things don’t quite go as planned, and madness and hilarity ensues. And in the final episode, the series takes a fun trip down memory lane, making lots of callbacks that longtime viewers will really appreciate. Many familiar faces also pop up for cameos during tonight’s two episodes. While I initially thought last year’s season finale did a decent job of wrapping up the show, I’m really happy that we got these extra eight episodes to give the series a proper ending. Tonight’s finale is a gift to the longtime fans, giving a fun and satisfying conclusion to the series as well as a glimpse into what lies ahead for Jess and her former loft-mates.

On tonight’s episode, “The Curse of the Pirate Bride; Engram Pattersky,” Jess and Nick make life-changing decisions; Winston and Aly’s big day arrives; the gang takes a trip down memory lane.

Find out how the series ends tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, black-ish, Rise, MasterChef: Junior, The Flash, The 100, Legion, and Chrisley Knows Best.
