Tonight, The Amazing Race returns to CBS as 22 new contestants start their adventure around the globe in hopes of taking home the $1M prize. However, for this 29th season, there is a big twist: all eleven teams will be comprised of complete strangers! This race is already difficult enough when you can plan ahead for your partner’s strengths and weaknesses, but meeting your teammate on the starting mat adds even more stress to the game! A while back there was a season where half the teams were “blind dates,” and it actually worked out surprisingly well for the teams that just met. It will be interesting to see if that’s the case again. Will the lack of a history to bicker about actually help these newly formed teams? At least there isn’t necessarily a forced pretense of a love connection between the teammates this time around.

On tonight’s premiere, “We’re Coming for You, Phil!” twenty-two strangers meet at the starting line in Los Angeles and then pair up to form eleven teams who then fly to the first destination: Panama City.

Meet the new teams tonight on CBS at 10/9c.

Tonight, ABC premieres the new comedy Imaginary Mary at a special night and time before it moves to its regular Tuesday timeslot next week. When Alice (Jenna Elfman, Dharma & Greg) was 6 years old, her parents got a divorce, and to help deal with her emotions, she invented an imaginary friend named Mary (Rachel Dratch, SNL). But by the time she was 18, Alice was already becoming a strong, independent woman and no longer needed her fluffy, pudgy pal. Now, 20 years later, Alice owns her PR firm for athletes, and her relationship with boyfriend/divorced dad Ben (Stephen Schneider, Broad City) has been going great for three months. However, when Ben suggests it’s time that Alice finally meet his three kids – neurotic teenager Andy (Nicholas Coombe), nerdy middle child Dora (Matreya Scarrwener, Strange Empire), and youngest Bunny (Erica Tremblay) – the stress causes her old imaginary friend to reappear. Mary is thrilled to see her best friend again but may not be the best influence on Alice.

I checked out the first two episodes of the series and was pleasantly surprised. I expected the show to be a lot like Angel From Hell, where Mary would be constantly there talking in Alice’s ear trying to help her fix her life. There is some of this – from a young age Alice saw parenting as a scary thing, and she fears being a mother, so Mary is a bit of the devil on her shoulder trying to convince her to run away from motherhood. However, the series is much more of a family/relationship comedy, and the imaginary friend is just a small piece of that. That said, I really enjoyed the relationship between Mary and Alice. Rachel Dratch is hilarious. And I think this show will fit in well with the other ABC family comedies, where there’s always a bit of heart with the laughter.

On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” a thirtysomething woman’s life turns to chaos when an imaginary friend she created as a child returns after she begins dating a divorced father with three kids.

Meet Mary and Alice tonight on ABC at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Arrow, The 100, Legion, Schitt’s Creek, The Magicians, The Expanse, Major Crimes, and Nobodies.

They blew up the lab!! Did that freak anyone else out at the end of last week’s Bones, when the lab at the Jeffersonian literally got blown to smithereens?? What a way to take down a set when a show is ending, huh? LMAO Anyway, through the viewpoint of four different characters, we followed each of them from the wedding reception up until the bomb went off. I’m totally going out of order, but here were the highlights: Cam’s purse was messed with at the wedding reception, and her keycard for the lab platform was stolen, which is ultimately how the bombs got smuggled into the lab in the middle of the night. Two prisoners escaped from prison, and Kovac (who was after Booth and his family and killed Max) was one of them – he then killed the other man and escaped. At the reception, Avalon warned Booth that Bones was in significant danger. He started to shrug it off but ultimately took the warning to heart. Bones and Angela had a sweet moment of friendship at the reception. Aubrey asked Jessica to move to LA with him when he goes for his new job. She not only turned him down but she broke up with him completely. Oh, and Angela’s pregnant! I figured that out as soon as she started puking her guts up at Zach’s trial. Speaking of Zach… Caroline did all she could to sway the judge in his favor, even though she was the PROSECUTION. It was sweet. And it worked. Between the evidence and all the testimony, Zach is a free man – as soon as he finishes serving the 13 months for helping the killer in the first place. Finally, back to the bomb… Bones had an epiphany moments before the bomb was discovered to be at the lab, and she ran off to grab the evidence, and that left her, Booth, Angela, and Hodgins (who was slower to get out because of his wheelchair)…TRAPPED IN THE LAB WHEN IT EXPLODED! What the what?!

Obviously they can’t all die, right? I trust Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan and their crew more than that. But will they all come away virtually unscathed? And will they find Kovac and whoever was helping him? Is Cam really leaving the Jeffersonian like she said, at least for six months while she and Arastoo do some traveling? Will Angela’s baby be named Pookie Jr.? I know all (okay, most…) of those answers, since I’ve seen the finale. But you’ll have to find out for yourself. If you’re a fan of the show, I urge you not to miss tonight’s episode. It was made for the fans by the biggest fans of the show, Hart and Stephen, and it’s definitely not-to-be-missed!

On tonight’s episode, “The End in the End,” with Kovac still at large, the team searches for evidence to track him down. After Brennan experiences a setback, the rest of the team must figure out how to find Kovac without her, putting everything she has ever taught them to the test. When all signs point to Kovac having outside help, as well as a hideout, Booth and Brennan go searching for him.

Catch the final episode of a terrific series tonight on FOX at 9:01/8:01c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, Trial & Error, Chicago Fire, Chopped, & NCIS: New Orleans.

I’m really enjoying having Philip Winchester on my TV each week, and Chicago Justice has been a great fit for him, even though he’s mostly been doing action shows/characters up till now. Last week was a tough one. An ex-Navy SEAL was killed shortly before he was supposed to get married. It turned out the killers were two of his best friends, his SEAL teammates, who killed him because he was writing a tell-all book about a botched mission they went on while on active duty and the fact that the Navy had covered up what really happened. During the investigation & subsequent trial, Stone was ordered by his boss not to offer the video (of the failed mission) the victim had kept secret, but he was able to skirt around that when one of the two killers mentioned the mission while on the stand. So instead of the video, the guy told what had happened, which got Stone around his boss’s orders – barely. Jefferies wasn’t happy, but he didn’t fire Stone, so…

One thing I don’t understand is the purpose of the DA’s investigators. Don’t get me wrong… I love Antonio and like Laura Nagel. But what do they do that the other police (the non-DA’s investigators) don’t? And like, on the description for tonight’s ep, why are they on scene of an apparent suicide? If it’s suicide, it wouldn’t be a case for the DA, so why are the DA’s investigators there? Ah well. Just a thought I had.

On tonight’s episode, “Dead Meat,” thirty miles outside of Chicago, the cancer riddled body of Chicago PD Officer Tim Cody is found dead in a bathtub. An apparent suicide. But when Antonio and Nagel arrive on scene, they quickly determine his death was murder. The trail leads to an old nemesis of Stone, and he has to make a new law to put him away. Michael Rispoli and Sofia Milos guest star.

Find out how Stone gets the bad guy tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Little Big Shots, NCIS: LA, Spring Baking Championship, & Cake Wars.

The last new episode of Chicago PD was part of the #OneChicago crossover, where Olinsky’s daughter was one of the victims in the warehouse fire started by a guy who was angry at a girl who he felt ignored his attentions. He thought they had something special, but she didn’t really know him. He just friended her on social media. He was wackadoo, and lots of people were killed, including Olinsky’s daughter, who died from her injuries. It was a crazy intense night of episodes and really sad but a great crossover.

Chicago PD is my favorite of the #OneChicago shows, and I’m so glad it’s back tonight. As a Linstead (Lindsay/Halstead) shipper, I am a little nervous about the guest star who starts tonight for a small arc, but the producer’s said that she won’t be a romantic rival for Erin, so I’ll keep my hopes up that they don’t screw up my favorite couple! Also, we haven’t had a lot of time to focus on Adam being back yet, so it’ll be interesting to see how the story line with him and Burgess goes!

On tonight’s episode, “Remember the Devil,” after being tipped off about a woman running barefoot through the woods, Intelligence is led to a kidnapping victim locked up in a shipping container. The bizarre scenario leaves Voight questioning the legitimacy of the case and sends the team on a twisted trail to get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, a former relationship of Halstead’s comes back into the picture, much to the surprise of Lindsay.

See how the team solves the case tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, Chopped Junior, Cooks vs. Cons, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Major Crimes, & Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
